Lawmaker defends honor killings

A Pakistani lawmaker defended a decision by southwestern tribesmen to bury five women alive because they wanted to choose their own husbands, telling stunned members of Parliament this week to spare him their outrage.
"These are centuries-old traditions and I will continue to defend them," Israr Ullah Zehri, who represents Baluchistan province, said Saturday. "Only those who indulge in immoral acts should be afraid."
The women, three of whom were teenagers, were first shot and then thrown into a ditch.
They were still breathing as their bodies were covered with rocks and mud, according media reports and human rights activists, who said their only "crime" was that they wished to marry men of their own choosing
Zehri told a packed and flabbergasted Parliament on Friday that Baluch tribal traditions helped stop obscenity and then asked fellow lawmakers not to make a big fuss about it.
Many stood up in protest, saying the executions were "barbaric" and demanding that discussions continue Monday. But a handful said it was an internal matter of the deeply conservative province.
"I was shocked," said lawmaker Nilofar Bakhtiar, who pushed for legislation calling for perpetrators of so-called honor killings to be punished when she served as minister of women's affairs under the last government.
"I feel that we've gone back to the starting point again," she said. "It's really sad for me."
The incident allegedly occurred one month ago in Baba Kot, a remote village in Jafferabad district, after the women decided to defy tribal elders and arrange marriages in a civil court, according to the Asian Human Rights Commission.

This is an update on this story. - Five women buried alive in name of honour
Monday August 25, 2008 (1134 PST)ISLAMABAD:

Three teenage girls along with their two close elderly relatives were shot at before being buried alive in a desert of Balochistan by their tribesmen in the name of honour.
The shocking reports of this horrible incident reaching the capital from different quarters revealed that the girls studying in classes 10 to 12 intended to marry men of their choice through a civil court by defying the centuries-old tribal traditions. When the fuming elders of Umrani tribe came to know about the intentions of these girls to appear before a local court, they picked them up from their homes along with two of their elderly women relatives. The crying girls were pushed into official cars and driven to a deserted area. There they were pushed out of the cars, made to stand in a queue and volleys of shots fired at them.
As the bleeding girls fell on the sand, the tribesmen dragged them into a nearby ditch and levelled it with earth and stones before the girls could breathe their last. As the two shocked elderly women tried to rescue the hapless girls, they too were gunned down and buried in the same manner.
The killers after burying these women returned to their tribe like conquerors without any action against them.

  • A manual of Islamic law certified by Al-Azhar as a reliable guide to Sunni orthodoxy says that "retaliation is obligatory against anyone who kills a human being purely intentionally and without right." However, "not subject to retaliation" is "a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing their offspring, or offspring's offspring." ('Umdat al-Salik o1.1-2).

In other words, someone who kills his child incurs no legal penalty under Islamic law?

Ramadan clock confusion

The start of the holy month of Ramadan next week is causing clock confusion in the Middle East. Egypt and the Palestinians are falling back an hour far earlier than usual, trying to reduce daylight hours for Muslims fasting until sunset in sweltering summer temperatures.

Politics also adds a twist. The Palestinian extremist group Hamas was ending daylight saving time at 11:59 last night in the Gaza Strip, which it controls, while the West Bank, run by the rival Fatah faction, is waiting until midnight Sunday.

The Palestinians have traditionally changed their clocks at different times from Israel in a gesture of independence. Now, for the first time, they are directing the gesture at each other, reflecting the rival claims for power in the year-old split between the Palestinian territories.

"Hamas just wants to show they're different from the Palestinian government, to pretend that they are the real government here," said Jamal Zakout, a spokesman for the prime minister of the West Bank-based Palestinian Authority. He said the authority chose midnight Sunday because Ramadan is expected to begin Monday.

Egypt was also moving its clocks back one hour at 11:59 last night, a full month earlier than usual. The switch puts Egypt two hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time and at least an hour later than its Mideast neighbors.

The creeping up of the clock change reflects the complications of the lunar Islamic calendar.

Ramadan arrives about 11 days earlier each year. Currently, that brings it more into the long, hot days of summer, making it particularly tough for Muslims, who abstain from food and drink from sunrise to sunset during the holy month. Even in September, temperatures in Egypt are in the upper 90s.

Egypt's decision will enable its people to have their iftar evening meal, breaking the fast, an hour earlier.

Israel goes off daylight saving time Oct. 5, before the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur. This will not reduce the length of the fast, which goes from sunset to sunset, but will reduce the number of daytime hours observant Jews must go without food or water.

Jordan and Lebanon will switch the clocks back as usual by the end of October. Syria falls back in late September. Saudi Arabia and Iraq don't change clocks.

Eight-year-old Saudi girl seeks divorce from a man in his fifties.

The girl, who still does not know she is married, lives with her parents in the town of Unayzah, 135 miles north of the capital Riyadh. The marriage had been arranged in secret by her father.

She is preparing to start the new year at primary school in the town, which is located in the conservative Najd region of the country - the spiritual homeland of the Islamist Wahhabi movement that has long dominated the kingdom.

According to the Arabic-language newspaper Al-Watan, which reported the case, the divorce suit has been filed by the girl's mother.

Her relatives have contacted human rights groups in the kingdom to try to arrange legal help to annul the marriage.

However, the husband has refused, saying he has done nothing wrong.

Undercover Mosque: The Return. - "Kill him, kill him. You have to kill him, you understand. This is Islam."

Three months after Dispatches: Undercover Mosque won a police apology and libel damages, Channel 4 has announced it is returning to the subject in Undercover Mosque: The Return.

Earlier this year West Midlands police and the Crown Prosecution Service paid out a six-figure sum to Channel 4 and Undercover Mosque Hardcash, the independent producer responsible for the documentary, after falsely accusing the programme of misleading viewers.

The documentary, an undercover investigation into extremism in mainstream British mosques, featured preachers calling for homosexuals to be killed, espousing male supremacy, condemning non-Muslims and predicting jihad.
.....

In the new documentary, a female reporter attends prayer meetings at an important British mosque which claims to be dedicated to moderation and "dialogue with other faiths".
According to Channel 4, "she secretly films sermons given to the women-only congregation in which female preachers recite extremist and intolerant beliefs".

In one scene, as hundreds of women and some children come to pray, a preacher calls for adulterers, homosexuals, women who act like men and Muslim converts to other faiths to be killed, saying: "Kill him, kill him. You have to kill him, you understand. This is Islam."

Channel 4 also said that in the same mosque, "the reporter visits the bookshop and discovers books and DVDs still on sale, promoting extremist, anti-Semitic, misogynistic and intolerant messages".

The undercover reporter also "films inside a key Saudi-funded Muslim organisation, which claims to promote tolerance and integration yet distributes literature which promotes intolerance for non-Muslims, an extreme version of sharia law and teachings which support discrimination against women".

In addition, Undercover Mosque: The Return also "investigates the role of the Saudi Arabian religious establishment in spreading a hard-line, fundamentalist Islamic ideology in the UK - the very ideology the government claims to be tackling"

A former Foreign Office minister tells Dispatches he thinks the government should take a stronger line on the issue.
The film also includes interviews with Islamic academics who condemn messages of intolerance and segregation and warn of the impact they will have on British society.

Dispatches: Undercover Mosque: The Return will air on Channel 4 on September 1 at 8pm.

Mullah says Female Officiated Wedding a 'Cruel Joke on Islam'...

A Muslim marriage in northern India officiated by women has sparked an angry debate, with one of the most influential Islamic seminaries in South Asia calling it an affront to the religion.
Naish Hasan, the 28-year-old bride and a women's rights activist, and Imran Ali, the 41- year-old groom, were married last week in a ceremony that is believed to be the first of its kind in India.
Muslim marriages are traditionally officiated by a man, often a local community leader. The signing of the wedding contract is also witnessed by four Muslim males, two each for the bride and groom.
But the marriage last week in the northern city of Lucknow was presided over by a woman and all the witnesses were female. The only man involved in the wedding was Ali.
Women's rights activists have greeted the marriage as a symbolic step forward for Muslim women, but the ceremony sparked a firestorm of criticism from conservative Islamic institutions, especially the Dar-ul-Uloom seminary in northern India.
The seminary is an intellectual hub for South Asian Muslims. Many of its theologians have publicly denounced terrorism but their work has nonetheless provided the intellectual underpinning for some of the most radical and violent Islamic movements in the region, such as the Taliban in Afghanistan.
An official at Dar-ul-Uloom, Ahmad Khizar Shah Masudi, called the marriage a "cruel joke on (Islamic) laws."
Another Muslim group, the Lucknow Idgah Committee, has said the marriage is invalid under Islamic law.
Hasan, the bride, works for Bharatiya Muslim Mahila Aandolan, or the Indian Muslim Women's Movement, a rights group that seeks a greater role for women in Indian Muslim society.
Hasan brushed off the criticism. "I do not care. Islam says there cannot be anyone between Allah and his disciple. How come these clergymen are interfering in our matter?" she said.
India, a predominantly Hindu country with a sizable Muslim minority, allows marriage, divorce and inheritance matters to be determined by religious laws, and the couple's unorthodox ceremony was approved by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, which sets the rules on Muslim religious matters.

Birthday parties against Islam says top Saudi cleric

Celebrating anniversaries, birthdays or mother's day is against Muslim 'righteousness', Saudi Arabia's top cleric has said, quashing suggestions by a colleague that Islam permits personal celebrations.
Media savvy cleric Salman al-Awdah told viewers during a call-in television show last week that celebrating birthdays and wedding anniversaries was not against Islam, sparking a debate in the conservative kingdom and prompting the mufti to weigh in.
Grand Mufti Abdul-Aziz al-Shaikh said celebrating such events would make Muslims like followers of other faiths including Jews and Christians, al-Madina newspaper reported.
Shaikh embodies Wahhabism, the hardline Islamic doctrine that has ruled hand in hand with the Saud family since the kingdom was founded some eight decades ago.
Women are banned from driving and mixing with unrelated men in Saudi Arabia, whose clerics issue edicts ordering Saudis not to buy red roses on Valentine's Day on an almost annual basis.
"A Muslim should thank almighty Allah if his children are healthy and if his married life is stable as the years pass by," the paper quoted Shaikh as saying.
Two occasions call for celebration in the Muslim world, Shaikh said: Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, and Eid al-Adha, which marks the end of the annual haj pilgrimage.
Awdah, who follows a relatively softer line, is widely believed to be favoured by circles close to King Abdullah. The monarch has repeatedly said that Saudi Arabia needs reforms.

Does Islam allow Muslim Men to Cheat Kafir Women?

A recent Saudi Islamic fatwa (permit) says: Saudis who study out of Saudi Arabia like America have the Islamic permit to married a western girl by intending to leave her after a short time for just intercourse and when he will come back to Saudi he must divorce her and all that without telling her the truth at all.
They mean that a Saudi student, who study abroad, can lie to a kafir girl that he loves her and want to marry her in order to have sexual relation with her. But when he has finished his studies, he must divorce her before he coming back to Saudi Arabia.

Islam teaches lying and cheating on others especially on non-Muslims. I was Muslim from Saudi Arabia. I know well how bad and liar Muslims are. Innocent non-Muslim girls must be saved from the deceptive traps of Muslims, especially from Saudi ones. -

98% of Women Visitors to Egypt are Sexually Harassed...

This Ramadan we are going to get the Islamic missionaries from Al- Azhar again to teach us morality and how to live a good life that we may get the virgins and boys of perpetual freshness in Jannah.

Among other things they will teach our women to shave their pubic hair if husband returns home at night after a long journey...7.62.173

  • Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah:
The Prophet said, "If you enter (your town) at night (after coming from a journey), do not enter upon your family till the woman whose husband was absent (from the house) shaves her pubic hair and the woman with unkempt hair, combs her hair" Allah's Apostle further said, "(O Jabir!) Seek to have offspring, seek to have offspring!" - Sahih Bukhari:Volume 7, Book 62, Number 173:
We are told that Al-Azhar is the oldest university in the world and a place of great learning. So we send our sons there to study that they may come back and share with us the teachings of Mohammed, Prophet of Islam. But the people they taught and sent back to us turned out to be a group of thugs and perverted thieves who have practically destroyed the Maldives.
Now every Ramazan we bring a bunch of these experts that our people may hear the teachings straight from the professors mouth. However it seems that they are not doing such a great job in their own country.

"A total 98% of foreign women visiting or living in Egypt are victims of several kinds of sexual harassment and 66.1% of them got an unpleasant impression of the Egyptian society due to the negative experience, but not so bad that they will avoid going back to the country. Only 7.0% of them said that they had no intention of going back to Egypt and 4.6% will warn their friends, exhorting them not to visit the country of Pyramids. The above was stated in a research of the "Egyptian Centre for Women's Rights (ECWR)", released today in Cairo and conducted under the campaign "Make our streets safer for everyone", which specifically aims at opposing sexual harassment and at condemning the risk that this behaviour might cause a strong reduction in the number of tourists, with disastrous economic consequences.

In a study released in the last weeks of July, the Centre had informed that 82% of Egyptian women report to have been subjected to unpleasant attention by men, on the street, in public places or on transport vehicles.

Without analysing the reasons for the greater impact of the phenomenon on foreign women, ECWR's president, Nehad Abul Komsan, suggested that the authorities install street cameras to be able to identify the authors of the harassments and to obtain at the same time a deterring effect, like it happens already in some centres of India and the United Arab Emirates.

At the presentation of the study there were also MPs like Mohsen Radi, exponent of the Muslim Brotherhood, who remarked how the aggressors "do not spare even the God-fearing women, wearing the hijab (the veil on the head) or the niqab (which exposes only the eyes)". "The majority of the victims refuse to report the aggressions. I will involve the Parliament to understand why this happens", he pointed out.
Even on the workplaces harassment is widespread, according to economist Hamdi Abdelazeem, who focused on the abuse of power which is often exercised by managers and businessmen over their female employees."
(ANSAmed).

Do we really need these Islamic missionaries to teach us even though they cannot teach their own to behave decently?

I would like to present this news item in a decent manner

Earlier this month, two clerics of a world religion were accidentally killed while assembling a bomb inside their house of worship. We won’t tell you which religion, but let’s just say that absolutely no one was surprised.

One minor girl, many Arabs

They are old predators with new vigour. Often bearded, invariably in flowing robes and expensive turbans. The rich, middle-aged Arabs increasingly stalk the deprived streets of Hyderabad like medieval monarchs would stalk their harems in days that we wrongly think are history. These Viagra enabled Arabs are perpetrating a blatant crime under the veneer of nikaah, the Islamic rules of marriage. Misusing the sanctioned provision which allows a Muslim man to have four wives at a time, many old Arabs are not just marrying minors in Hyderabad, but marrying more than one minor in a single sitting.

"The Arabs prefer teenage, virgin brides," says Jameela Nishat, who counsels and sensitises young women against the malaise. Two of her volunteers, Shahida Yasmeen and Tasneem Sultana, in their early twenties experienced the trauma of being scanned by an old Arab. A few months ago, they accompanied an undercover television reporter who was following these sham marriages. They reached a home where half a dozen other prospective brides were gathered. "It resembled a brothel. The girls were paraded before the Arab who would lift the girls’ burqa, run his fingers through their hair, gaze at their figures and converse through an interpreter," says Yasmeen recalling the day.

Most girls inspected by the Arab were minors, and forced by a complex union of their parents and Islamic clerics to yield to the preliminary probes of the Arab.

Curiously, the high priests of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) and the fatwa brigade of Darul Uloom Deoband, who are gearing up to defend the legality of Islamic Courts in the Supreme Court, seem to have shut their eyes to this phenomenon that is aided and abetted by Hyderabad's Qazis or clerics.

Man Says Islam Justifies His Marriage to 8-Year-Old Girl...

"A Saudi man in his 50s has announced that he refuses to annul his year-and-a half-long marriage to an eight-year-old girl, because he claims never to have done anything forbidden by Islamic law.
He said that Islamic law does not set a specific age for marriage, and that the Prophet Muhammad married 'Aisha when she was nine. "
- From The MEMRI Blog

There is someone who agrees with the man. He is a respected leader of a large segment of Maldivian society. He is the Head of the Islamic Council of the Maldivian Democratic Party.
"Sheikhu (B.A.) Naseem", educated in Islamic teaching in Saudi Arabia wrote a letter to Minivan Daily :

ކޮންމެއަކަސް އަށާރައަހަރު ފުރުނީމާނޫނީ ކައިވެނި ނުކުރެވޭ ޤާނޫނެއް ދީނާޚިލާފަށް ފާސްކުރުމުން

The link to Minivan Daily does not exist now. In the letter he wanted to remove restrictions to the age of marriage so that good muslim men could follow the example of Mohammed.
  • "We have indeed, in the Messenger of Allah, a good example (of conduct) for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day." [Holy Qur'an 33: ayat 21]

What does it say about the people who elected this man to such a position?

In the video below a Sharia Expert Defends Child Marriage.

Thus according to Islam the crime of an adult who sexually abuses a seven year old child would be that he did not enter into a "marriage contract" with the childs father. The act of an old man sexually assaulting a child by itself is not a crime in Islam. It is a crime if you do not have the fathers permission!!!!

In the Hadith below, an old man is describing his dreams of an "uncovered" child.

  • Narrated 'Aisha:
“Allah's Apostle said to me, "You were shown to me twice (in my dream) before I married you. I saw an angel carrying you in a silken piece of cloth, and I said to him, 'Uncover (her),' and behold, it was you. I said (to myself), 'If this is from Allah, then it must happen.' Then you were shown to me, the angel carrying you in a silken piece of cloth, and I said (to him), 'Uncover (her), and behold, it was you. I said (to myself), 'If this is from Allah, then it must happen.” - Sahih Bukhari (9.140)

China detains 35 Pak Olympic spectators as terror suspects

Don't be surprised when Maldivians are profiled and asked to step aside at airports around the world. "Come this way..Mohammed ...Khadija...we need to do a cavity search"..or they tell you .." get back on the plane and go back to your paradise islands"
Not too long ago this happened to my friend. He had the visa, but a western immigration department put him on the plane back to Maldives.
Maldives is now on the radar in the western world as a Jihadi producing country.

"The Chinese government has reportedly detained 35 Pakistanis visiting China to watch Olympics after they were suspected of planning to attack proceedings of the Games.
China has asked the Pakistani government for details of the arrested in a letter that alleged 35 suspected Pakistani militants had arrived in China to attack proceedings at the Games, reported the Daily Times.
According to the paper, Col Anjum Sheikh Saeed of the Foreign Security Department wrote to the Interior Ministry on August 18 ordering the authorities concerned to collect details of those detained.

The Chinese government has not released the names of those being held, but has given the names and passport numbers of 13, including Anwar Afridi, Dildar Khan, Darwaish, Sultan, Akbar Shah, Muhammad Amin, Qadir, Asad Masood, Afzal, Saadat and Dolat Yousaf. "

Egypt: Muslim-Christian Organ Donation Exchanges Still Banned...

Despite the agreement on the possibility that Muslims and Copts could be mutually donors of organs, the chairman of the Egyptian doctors' association, Muslim Hamdi el Sayed, decided to ban the donations waiting for the approval of an ad hoc law, currently under discussion in Parliament. The goal is to impede fictitious donations, actually made for money.
The decision however sparked off a fierce polemic by the Copts who consider it a discriminatory measure. The news was reported by the Egyptian and Arab media after Copt lawyer Naguib Jibrael, chairman of the non-government organisation Egyptian union for human rights, threatened to take El Sayed in court.
"The association of the doctors behaves as if it were an authority that has the right to issue fatwas (religious opinions), Al Azhar or the church, putting in discussion even the right to citizenship," the lawyer says. "Why the Muslims are not angry at this decision, as some Copts are?" replied the chairman of the doctors association who is also chairman of the healthcare committee at the lower house of Parliament and author of the bill currently under discussion in Parliament.
The decision to block for the moment the donations between Muslims and Copts and vice versa, El Sayed claims, came from the need to impede the illegal trade of organs, but there is no objection to the donation if it is really free. (ANSAmed).

Saudi girl drinks bleach to escape arranged marriage

A 16-year-old Saudi girl drank a bottle of bleach in an attempt to commit suicide to escape a forced marriage to a 75-year-old man, press reports revealed Sunday.
The girl identified only as, Shaikha, said her father was forcing her to marry the old man so that he could marry his 13-year-old daughter in an exchange deal, Bahrain's Tribune reported.
Shaikha described how her father took her to meet the old man and his 13-year-old in a marriage office where they all had pre-marital tests done, the Tribune quoted the Saudi Gazette as reporting.
Shaikha told the paper how she begged and pleaded not to be forced into marriage but both of the men ignored her pleas.

The outside world is discovering the true Maldives - Island Paradise or Islamic Hell?

"Islam/Maldives, are promoted via a false glossy outside while actually putrid on the inside. How long will the Maldives remain a truly ‘mal’ (bad, sick) ‘dive’(colloq. A disreputable place)!! "
"Many Australians head to the ‘tropical island paradise’ of the Maldives with the lovely tourist resorts, lagoons, sun/sand/sea, wine, women in bathers mixing with men, couples kissing, massages, ‘fun’ and even Gay trips to the Maldives. Islamic?? NO, the Islamic Maldives is hidden from tourists because it shows nasty Islam (true image), NOT a ‘tropical island paradise’! "

Maldives is a major violator of human rights with torture, religious persecution and discrimination, unfair detention of people with differing political or religious beliefs, a corrupt election process, and restricted freedom of speech, press and assembly (10) plus unequal treatment of women (5, 24). In 2004 the EU stopped aid to the Maldives and discouraged it as a Fun in the sun, tropical paradise because of human rights issues. (1)

As "100% Muslim", the Maldives is naturally a place of harsh intolerance for anyone who doesn't conform. And the truth is getting out ......
Foreigners are now beginning to see that there is a darker side on the other side of the "Sunny Side of Life" of the tourist resorts.

To read a report on the Maldives go to The Australian Islamist Monitor.

"The Jewel of Medina" Spiked for fear of violence

First it was cartoons about the Prophet Muhammad that caused threats of violence, actual violence, and calls for censorship. Now it's a racy romance novel about Muhammad called The Jewel of Medina, which is stirring controversy, according to the Wall St. Journal.
The Jewel of Medina, written by Sherry Jones, was supposed to be published on August 12th. Sherry Jones was to go on a book tour to promote her historical romance about the relationship between the Prophet of Islam and one of his wives, Aisha. Instead fear of terrorism and a reticence about any kind of open discourse about Islam and its founder has caused the publisher Random House to postpone the publication of The Jewel of Medina indefinitely. Sherry Jones and her literary agent are shopping the book to other publishers.

The Jewel of Medina is not the first instance in which as Islamic themed artistic work has stirred controversy and threats of violence. Thirty years ago, Syrian film maker Moustapha Akkad made a movie about the life of the Prophet Muhammad entitled The Message. Even though, acceding the Muslim sensibilities, Muhammad never actually appears in the film, a rumor that Charlton Heston would star as the Prophet caused riots in Pakistan.

More recently, the publication of The Satanic Verses, a novel by Salman Rushdie, resulted in a bounty placed on the life of the author by the Ayatollah Khomeini in the form of a religious fatwa. The fatwa resulted in at least one attempt on the life of Rushdie by the Hezbollah and huge sales for The Satanic Verses. From Associated Content

Fear and Submission in the Maldives Democratic Party?

It comes as no surprise that the head of the Islamic council of MDP "B. A" Naseem has asked Anni to reconsider choosing a woman as his running mate.

Sura (2:228) - "and the men are a degree above them [women]"

Bukhari (6:301) - "[Muhammad] said, 'Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?' They replied in the affirmative. He said, 'This is the deficiency in her intelligence.'"

Bukhari (6:301) - continued - "[Muhammad said] 'Isn't it true that a woman can neither pray nor fast during her menses?' The women replied in the affirmative. He said, 'This is the deficiency in her religion.'" Allah has made women deficient in the practice of their religion as well, by giving them menstrual cycles.

This mullah has previously opposed the law making 18 years the minimum age for marriage.

The Democratic party candidate appears to be caving into the demands of the mullahs - the fear of offending Allah by elevating a woman to a position equal to a man now has taken hold of most Maldivians.

From Minivan News : Anni, who as has the final decision as presidential candidate, has said he did not want to do anything against Islam and would again meet again with BA Naseem.

It is unclear whether or not Anni will now change his nomination in line with these views, but he appeared open to changing his decision, saying “the party has a number of very capable options.”

Must He Die? Meet A Muslim Dissident Who Loves Jews, Christians And Free Speech

His country wants to hang him, and this could happen within the next few months. Sallah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury is a Bangladeshi journalist, publisher and peace activist who has left the fold of Jew hatred and Muslim supremacy that is infecting his country in recent years. For that, he is accused of ‘crimes against humanity’ and ‘hurting the image of Islam.’
The newspaper he publishes, The Daily Blitz, criticizes the jihad culture that is growing increasingly strong in his country and instead advocates inter-faith understanding between Muslims, Christians and Jews. Choudhury, who says he is proud to call himself a ‘Muslim Zionist,’ is partners on a peace project with a sheikh who believes that the Koran intends for Jews to be the rightful inhabitants of Israel - not what one would expect to hear from a Muslim. In November, 2003, he was on his way to speak in Tel Aviv at a writers’ conference about the role the media can play in promoting peace. If he had been allowed to visit Israel, it would have been a first for a Bangladeshi journalist since his country refuses to acknowledge Israel as a state and travel to it is not permitted. Choudhury chanced it anyway since Bangladesh also prohibits travel to Taiwan, yet it often looks the other way. Unfortunately, however, he was grabbed at the airport by Bangladeshi officials, which started seventeen months of torture in government captivity. Choudhury was beaten so badly his leg was broken, given only dirty water from the toilet to drink, and almost went blind because he was denied medical care for an eye condition. The charges made against him of sedition, treason and blasphemy were groundless. Even the prosecuting attorney eventually wanted to drop them, but the Islamist judge in charge of the case insisted on continuing the show trial even without any evidence against Choudhury. Other officials have said they would like to drop the case too, except they fear, “how the radicals would react.”
Choudhury’s aborted speech needs to be read. (http://interfaithstrength.com/Speech.htm) In passionate yet surprisingly serene tones, he confronts the irrational hatred primarily directed against Jews and Israel that is inflaming the Muslim world, including its semi-religious belief in Holocaust Denial. Choudhury commends Israel’s democracy and progress, and proposes creating what he calls a “’Culture of peace’ with justice and tolerance for all people as opposed to the ‘culture of death.’” His stated mission is to take personal responsibility to break down the ‘firewall of lies’ and ignorance that separate one people from another, using his talents as a writer and publisher. Are you hearing echoes of Reagan’s famous command, “Tear down this wall?” You should.
Why was it important to the Bangladeshi officials to arrest Choudhury exactly at the moment he was to leave for Israel, when he had been previously outspoken in his opposition to the rising Jihad culture? Perhaps it was because Israel’s eagerness to build a friendly culture of mutual respect between Jews and Muslims would have done damage to the prevailing Jihadist image of Jews as demonic aggressors. The firewall would have fallen. If Israel must remain The Enemy, then diplomatic ties and dialogue are certainly taboo. Another reason involves power. The muftis would lose control of Bangladesh’s masses of uneducated people, ground down by poverty, who come to life mainly under the Mullahs’ incitement to hate Jews. If the masses were animated by reason and respect, the mullahs would be out of work.

Saudi man cuts daughter's tongue, burns her to death...

A Saudi man, member of the Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, has killed his daughter for converting to Christianity, the Gulf News daily reported, without providing details on the identity of the main characters in the case. Sources close to the victim said that the man had cut the tongue of his daughter and set her on fire following a heated debate on religion, the newspaper published in Dubai writes. The brother of the victim found in the woman's computer some articles on Christianity she had written on various blogs and regional websites under a nickname and the symbol of the cross. That discovery made her family life unbearable, the woman wrote on the 'Al Ukdoud' website a few days before her death. According to a testimony of a friend of the victim reported by the 'Free Copts' website, the father is arrested by the police and investigation has started against him for an "honour crime". The honour crimes, perpetrated by a male member of the family against a woman of the same clan to "wipe out the shame of the dishonour" from her indecorous behaviour, are generally punished with mild sentences ranging between six months and three years in jail. (ANSAmed).

We will of course get the usual "But that is not true Islam" from many Muslims.

But who knows Islam better: the Saudi father (and member of the Commission for "Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice") or some Maldivian who does not even understand Arabic, the language of the Koran?

The Saudi funded Islamic missionaries in Maldives know their Islam - quite recently Abdul Majeed Abdul Baari who is considered an Islamic scholar by many ( he spent many years studying Islam in Arabia) has clearly pointed out that "Shari’ah law ultimately requires the killing of those who leave Islam."

The Messenger of Allah SalAllahu alaihi wasallam said:

من بدّل دينه فاقتلوه
"Whoever changes his religion, kill him". (Bukhari)

As the power of these Islamic missionaries increase in the Maldives, we can expect inhuman acts like the one described above happening right here in the Maldives...

Hot Chick / Cool Woman - Irshad Manji

Irshad Maniji could be Adhaalathu Party and Osama's worst nightmare...

Irshad Manji, a lesbian feminist Muslim and, say many, one of the bravest women alive, has revealed the horrors of the first time it sunk in how barbaric her own religion could be: she was aged 10 and her father was chasing her through the house with a kitchen knife.

Manji, who has received numerous death threats as a result of her campaign to highlight how Islam oppresses millions of its followers, had threatened to report her father to the police for the way he regularly beat his wife.

Born in 1968 in Idi Amin's Uganda, but living in Canada when the attack happened, Manji escaped to a hiding place on the roof. There, she tells the Observer, she had an epiphany. "I realised I was grateful because there were people I could go to, talk to, whereas if we'd still been in East Africa that may not have been the case.

"I realised I lived in a society where the story of who we are as a people was not finished, which meant that I, as an individual, mattered. I could be a partial author of this grander story."

Manji, who now lives in New York behind bulletproof windows and dares not own a mobile phone in case it can be used to track her down, is best known for her book, The Trouble with Islam Today: A Muslim's Call for Reform in Her Faith, published in 2004. It has been a huge bestseller in the West but has been banned across most of the Middle East. The New York Times has compared her to Martin Luther and called her "Osama bin Laden's worst nightmare".

In the new interview, she says that a much later moment of realisation came when she was working at a religious television station and her (Jewish) boss put a newspaper cutting on her desk. It was the story of a young woman in northern Nigeria who had been sentenced by a sharia court to 180 lashes for a sexual offence, even though she had seven male witnesses to testify that she had been raped. Her boss had scribbled in the margin: "Irshad, one of these days you'll tell me how you reconcile this kind of insanity and female genital mutilation with your Muslim faith."

From The Telegraph:

They include a ban on women buying suggestively-shaped vegetables, according to one tribal leader in the western province of Anbar.

Sheikh Hameed al-Hayyes, a Sunni elder, told Reuters: "They even killed female goats because their private parts were not covered and their tails were pointed upward, which they said was haram.

"They regarded the cucumber as male and tomato as female. Women were not allowed to buy cucumbers, only men."

Other farcical stipulations include an edict not to buy or sell ice-cream, because it did not exist in the time of the Prophet, while hair salons and shops selling cosmetics have also been bombed.

Pro-Israel editor goes on trial in Bangladesh

After repeated delays, the trial of a Bangladeshi Muslim editor arrested for advocating ties with Israel began in Dhaka on Wednesday.

Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury, editor of the Weekly Blitz, an English-language newspaper published in the Bangladeshi capital, is facing a series of charges that include sedition.

If convicted, he could be sentenced to death.

In November 2003, Choudhury was arrested at Dhaka's international airport just prior to boarding a flight on his way to Israel, where he was scheduled to deliver an address on promoting understanding between Muslims and Jews. His visit to Israel would have been the first by a Bangladeshi journalist.
Bangladesh does not recognize Israel's existence.
Since his arrest, Choudhury has been subjected to various forms of intimidation and harassment. Two years ago, the offices of his newspaper were the target of an attempted bombing by unknown assailants.
In the first day of testimony this week, the prosecution called Abdul Hanif, the officer in charge at the airport when Choudhury was detained.
Hanif accused Choudhury of being anti-Islamic, and said that he had "praised Jews and Christians" and defamed Bangladesh. The hearings were then adjourned.

Terrorists Warn Fellow Muslims to Stay Away from Olympics...

A Muslim separatist group in China has made a new video threat against the Beijing Olympics, warning Muslims to keep their children away from the games, a US group that monitors extremists said Thursday.

The nearly six-minute video shows flames consuming a Beijing Olympics logo and an explosion over a venue for the competition, and features a masked, turbaned speaker clutching what appears to be an assault rifle.

The IntelCenter released a copy of the recording, attributed to the Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP), an ethnic Uighur and Muslim organization seeking to create an independent state out of China's heavily Muslim Xinjiang province.

The SITE Intelligence Group, meanwhile, translated some of the message, which was delivered in the language of the Uighurs, and said that the speaker identified himself as a TIP member and issued a threat against the Games.

The speaker urges Muslims to keep their children from the competition, and warns "Do not stay on the same bus, on the same train, on the same plane, in the same buildings, or any place the Chinese are," SITE said.

In July, the Washington-based IntelCenter said TIP had taken credit in another video statement for a deadly bus bombing in Shanghai in May and warned of new attacks in China during the Olympics.

In that recording, Commander Seyfullah of TIP claimed credit for several attacks, including the May 5 Shanghai bus bombing which killed three; another Shanghai attack; an attack on police in Wenzhou on July 17 using an explosives-laden tractor; a bombing of a Guangzhou plastic factory on July 17; and bombings of three buses in Yunnan province on July 21.

Three people were killed as a result of the explosion on the crowded bus in Shanghai on May 5, police and witnesses said.

The incident during the morning traffic rush hour in northwest Shanghai also injured 12 people.

At the time, authorities attributed the blast to flammable materials carried by a passenger.

But Seyfullah said the blast was the work of his group, and warned of more explosions to come.

According to global intelligence analysts Stratfor, the Turkestan Islamic Party is another name used by the Islamic Party of East Turkestan (ETIM), an ethnic Uighur and Muslim separatist group seeking to create an independent state out of China's westernmost, heavily Muslim Xinjiang province.

Saudi and Emerati Females Athletes Banned at the Olympic Games

10,000 athletes from 200 countries are about to gather in Beijing under the banner “One World, One Dream.” But for sportswomen from countries like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Iran, that dream remains unfulfilled. While the International Olympic Committee bans any gender discrimination, these Gulf countries invoke “cultural and religious” reasons for forcing talented female athletes to stay home.

Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world where women are legally banned from participating in any sports activity (though unofficial women’s basketball leagues are thriving). This doesn’t sit well with local women athletes. "We want to reach Olympic levels," explains Shatha Bakhsh, a member of the unlicensed Jeddah United basketball team. “We have a lot of potential, but not the chance to show it.” Her teammate, Lina al-Maeena, agrees: “When parents say that sports is sinful for girls, it really upsets me, because they're depriving their daughters of something that's very good for them.”

Iranian women are limited to sports that can comply with the country’s legal dress codes, so diving, cycling, and beach volleyball (among others) are effectively off-limits. Only three women are on the Iranian Olympic team, competing in rowing, archery, and tae kwon do. But even these athletes have to be careful not to reveal any skin by accident: Iranian rower Ramoneh Lazar was recently expelled from the national team after her ankles were seen inside her boat during a competition in Bangkok.

Perhaps by the 2012 Games in London the deferred dreams of these female athletes will at last be realized.

Man set on fire for marrying Muslim girl

Close on the heels of the beheading of a man for marrying a girl outside his religion at a village in Murshidabad district, another man was set on fire by his in-laws on Friday at Anarpur village under Baduria PS in North 24-Parganas district for the same reason.
With severe burns, Arka Banerjee (22), a resident of Barasat's Chowdhurybagan, is now struggling for life in Barasat district hospital, Superintendent of Police of North 24-Parganas district, Supratim Sarkar, said in Kolkata on Saturday.
Arka met Rehana Sultana during frequent trips to Baduria where his uncle stayed. Later they fell in love and got married in 2006 at a marriage registrar's office.
Apprehending opposition from his family, Arka rented a house at Haora, away from his parents, and did odd jobs to earn his living.
However, the girl's family members traced the couple to Haora after a year and brought Rehana and her one-year-old son to Anarpur, while Arka was threatened with dire consequence if he returned to Baduria.
Early Friday, when Arka tried to enter his in-laws' house to get his wife and baby back, he was severely beaten up. Later Rehana's brother Monirul allegedly took out a tin of kerosene, poured it on him and set him on fire.
Some local people later rescued him by pouring water to douse the flames. He was then admitted to a local hospital and subsequently shifted to Barasat district hospital.
Arka's brother in-law Monirul was on Saturday arrested by the police on the basis of a statement by Arka at the hospital bed, the SP said.

Hindu Beheaded for Marrying a Muslim Woman...

A Hindu man who married a Muslim girl was beheaded after a kangaroo court ordered his 'execution' at a village in Murshidabad district of West Bengal.
The villagers did not allow the man's hapless wife to approach the police for a fortnight.
The police said today that the girl Munera Bibi from Lakshanpur village met and fell in love with Shailendra Prasad from Bihar while she was working as a maid servant in Mumbai. They got married two and half years ago and the girl is now the mother of a 10-month-old child.
Religion was never a problem for the couple until she came to her own village in the district on July 1 with her husband who concealed his religious identity under the name Munna Sheikh.
But soon the girl's father Ansaria Sheikh became suspicious of his son-in-law's religion on July 14 and reported this to village elders. A 'salishi' (kangaroo court) comprising 22 members summoned Prasad and discovered his true religious identity. He was awarded 'death sentence', sources said.
On July 17 the man's beheaded body was found in a gunny bag in a jute field but as there was no complaint, the police failed to identify the person, the sources said.
Ten days later, the girl, her mother and brother went to Behrampore police station and lodged a formal complaint after which the incident came to light.
The police said three perons have been arrested in this connection.
"We tried to go to the police but the villagers forced us to stay indoors and threatened us with the same fate if we go to the police." the girl said.
The father of the girl and many other villagers are absconding.

Saudis Follow Up Religious Tolerance Conference by Deporting Christians...

More than a dozen Christians in Saudi Arabia who were accused by government officials of worshipping in their homes have been ordered deported.

According to a report from International Christian Concern, the Christians will be expelled tomorrow for their part in a home worship service in Taif in April.

The deportation conflicts with the message stated just weeks earlier by Saudi King Abdullah, who called for interfaith dialogue and held a summit in Spain with a representatives from several major religions.

"Deporting Christians for worshipping in their private homes shows that King Abdullah's speech is mere rhetoric and his country is deceiving the international community about their desire for change and reconciliation," said Jeff King, the president of ICC.

The report from the Washington-based human rights group said 15 Christians will be deported. Sixteen had been arrested April 25 when a dozen Saudi Arabian police officers raided a home during a prayer meeting.

"The first officer to enter the house after breaking down the main gate pointed a pistol at the Christians and ordered them to hand over their resident permits and mobile phones," the report said. "The other 11 police followed quickly and started searching the entire house. The confiscated an electronic drum set, an offering box with 500 Saudi Riyal in it ($130), 20 Bibles, and a few Christian books."

The worshippers initially faced accusations of preaching and singing. "They later changed the charge to holding a 'dance party' and collecting money to support terrorism," the ICC said.

"During the raid, the police mocked, questioned and harassed the Christians for four hours," ICC said.. "Then they took them to a police station where the head of the station interrogated them. The head of the police then wrote down their 'statements' in Arabic and forced the Christians, who are immigrants and not able to read or write Arabic, to sign the statements."

They were released three days later, and one Christian immediately left the country. The others returned to their work but soon got letters ordered their departures tomorrow, ICC said.

"Three weeks ago, Saudi Arabia hosted an interfaith conference in Madrid, Spain. During the conference that took place from July 16-19, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia called for reconciliation among various religions," ICC said.

According to an International Herald Tribune report, King Abdullah's meeting drew about 200 representatives of Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Taoism and other religions.

The reporter noted that the meetings had to be held outside of Saudi Arabia, because "the mere fact that rabbis would be openly invited to the kingdom, a country where in principle Jews are not permitted to visit, would have constituted a turning point."

It is very likely that the Maldivian proxies of the Saudis in Maldives will try to instigate the same action in Maldives

Religion of Peace Poses Top Security Threat to Olympics...

The Chinese military says the people most likely to attack the Olympic Games are Muslim separatists.

Speaking from the headquarters of the 6th Armoured Division, Colonel Tian Yixiang, says a terrorist attack is the most serious threat to the Olympics.

The Colonel, who also works in the Olympic Security Command Centre, said violent separatists from the far western province of Xinjiang posed the greatest threat.

He referred specifically to the east Turkestan terrorist organisation.

He says another threat comes from Tibetan separatists, and another from Falun Gong.

But Colonel Tian said China was fully capable of providing a safe Olympic Games.
