Following two months of targeted operation by the Dhivehi Brigade of Holy Warrioirs of Allah, Hithadhoo Court Magistrate Abdullah Farooq has declared the operations to be fully Halaal and ordered the removal of monuments gifted by the SAARC nations at the 2011 SAARC Summit “Building Bridges” held in Addu City.

The Maldives Constitution, itself based on Islamic Shariah, states that no action which displeases Allah can be upheld by the courts.

Farooq identified the monuments as “idols of worship” used by non- Muslims which could allow for the growth of other religions in the Maldives.

Farooq further argued that the monuments conflict with the regulations within the Religious Unity Act and were accepted into the country unlawfully according to the Contraband Act.

“No one has the authority to import anything prohibited under the law”, he said in the court ruling. Farooq has requested the Prosecutor General to take legal action against those responsible for setting up the monuments in Addu.

The monuments were unveiled by the leaders of Bangladesh, Pakistian, India, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka to commemorate the Maldives’ hosting of the SAARC Summit. The evening prior to Pakistan’s unveiling ceremony, its monument was knocked from its pedestal by protestors.

Even though the Maldivian constitution was last revised as recently as 2008, it clearly states that a Maldivian citizen can only be a Muslim. And from this follows other laws and regulations which prohibit Maldivians from consumption of alcohol and any other behavior that is deemed outside of the Muslim moral code. And tourism regulation in the country is perhaps a good example of this. We facilitate tourists to travel thousands of miles and spend as much dollars to travel to the beautiful islands of the Maldives (of which we are the inhabitants) and do things we believe will only take them closer to hell; drink alcohol, engage in sex outside marriage, wear revealing clothes in public, etc. So we have a situation where we ourselves refrain from the bad things but actually help others who do not belong to our community to do these very sinful things. The same laws of the land has different provisions to different persons, and while some laws describe us as having certain unalienable rights, others deny us those very same rights.

Disturbing video has emerged of a bloody religious massacre in Indonesia that killed three members of a minority Muslim sect, showing extremists beating and stoning their victims to death.

The incident, involving more than 1000 Muslims who stormed a house in West Java yesterday to stop the minority Ahmadiyah Islamic sect from holding worship, has been condemned by the government and rights activists.
Footage of the attack – which came at the start of “interfaith harmony week” in the mainly Muslim country – shows police doing nothing as scores of Islamic fanatics go berserk with stones, knives and sticks.

Sitr: Muslims Protect Muslims

There is a reason why Muslim societies lag so far behind when it comes accepting the mentally challenged and even in protecting children from sexual abuse.

Dr. Qaradawi noted that Aurah is the common Arabic word for both the male and female genital organs. Just as these genital organs are covered, there are actions and deeds that also need to remain protected and covered. The Aurah are not limited to our physical bodies, but there are also social Aurah. People often do things of which they are embarrassed and ashamed, things they want to conceal from others. Each individual has his or her own weaknesses, things they do not want others to know. These are all Aurat (the plural of Aurah) that are to be protected. A man might hit someone in rage, for example, or engage in a sexual digression, or get drunk. He would be ashamed if others found out about his action. For this reason the Prophet said in an authentic Hadith, "The Muslim who protects another Muslim will himself be protected by Allah." The Hadith says that Allah is both a Protector and a Lover of Modesty. That means that Allah not only protects the Believers, but also wants them to protect each other. If a man falls into a transgression, he is not to be publicly exposed. Exposure only comes if he blatantly and flagrantly continues in the wrongdoing; then he must be punished.

Pious Muslims Bomb School that Teaches Girls - 2 Dead...

An attack by Islamic militants on a Pakistani school today caused two deaths and 14 wounded, including seven children, provoking the strong condemnation of the Diocese of Peshawar. Father Francis Sohail told AsiaNews: "This is a brutal act, innocent children have been targeted. These children were going to school, some of them were already inside the school. No religion can justify the killing of innocent children. These extremists are against education for women. They can not frighten us, we support women's education. Our society is heading towards darkness, education is a ray of hope. We urge the government to ensure that this ray of hope spreads across Pakistan".

The powerful bomb exploded this morning outside a school in the centre of Peshawar, in the crowded Notia Jadded neighbourhood. Two people were killed and another 14 injured. According to chief of rescue operations, Muhammad Ejaz Khan, it was "a remote-controlled bomb in a cart, which were used five kilograms of explosives." The victims, Azizur Rehman and another man, not yet identified, were passers-by.

Among the wounded there are seven children. The death toll could have been much higher if the bomb had exploded half an hour later, many students had not yet reached the school. Police have arrested two suspects, currently being interrogated. The building has been damaged, and the whole area is closed by a cordon of officers. Peshawar is the capital of the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the militants often target military and civilian targets of the government, particularly schools.

Husband forcing his wife to have intercourse

Is it permissible for a man to force his wife or slave to have intercourse if she refuses?

Praise be to Allaah.
The woman does not have the right to refuse her husband, rather she must respond to his request every time he calls her, so long as that will not harm her or keep her from doing an obligatory duty.

Al-Bukhaari (3237) and Muslim (1436) narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If a man calls his wife to his bed and she refuses, and he spends the night angry with her, the angels curse her until morning.”

If she refuses with no excuse, she is disobeying and is being defiant (nushooz), and he is no longer obliged to spend on her and clothe her.

The husband should admonish her and remind her of the punishment of Allaah, and forsake her in her bed. He also has the right to hit her, in a manner that does not cause injury. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“As to those women on whose part you see ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (next) refuse to share their beds, (and last) beat them (lightly, if it is useful); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance). Surely, Allaah is Ever Most High, Most Great”

[al-Nisa’ 4:34]

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked what a husband should do if his wife refuses him when he asks for intimacy.

He replied:

It is not permissible for her to rebel against him or to withhold herself from him, rather if she refuses him and persists in doing so, he may hit her in a manner that does not cause injury, and she is not entitled to spending or a share of his time [in the case of plural marriage].” Majmoo’ al-Fataawa, 32/279.

And he was asked about a man who has a wife who is rebellious and refuses intimacy – does she forfeit the right to maintenance and clothing, and what should she do?

He replied:

She forfeits her right to maintenance and clothing if she does not let him be intimate with her. He has the right to hit her if she persists in being defiant. It is not permissible for her to refuse intimacy if he asks for that, rather she is disobeying Allaah and His Messenger (by refusing). In al-Saheeh it says: “If a man calls his wife to his bed and she refuses, the One Who is in heaven will be angry with her until morning comes.”

From Majmoo’ al-Fataawa, 32/278. The hadeeth was narrated by Muslim, 1736.

So the wife should be admonished first, and warned against defiance (nushooz) and of the anger of Allaah and the curse of the angels. If she does not respond, then the husband should forsake her in her bed, and if she does not respond to that, then he may hit her in a manner that does not cause injury. If none of these steps are effective, then he may stop spending on her maintenance and clothing, and he has the right to divorce her or to allow her to separate from him by khula’ in return for some financial settlement, such as giving up the mahr.

Similarly a slave woman does not have the right to refuse her master’s requests unless she has a valid excuse. If she does that she is being disobedient and he has the right to discipline her in whatever manner he thinks is appropriate and is allowed in sharee’ah.

Part of the campaign has focused on FGM. The survey by the government shows that mothers are the main party responsible for forcing their daughters experience the painful ritual and then grandmothers and fathers.

The survey’s results show that none of the participants in Dohuk, Kurdistan’s smallest of the three provinces, were circumcised while the highest rate of FGM was in Sulaimai.

Erbil, Kurdistan region's capital, came between Sulaimani and Dohuk. According to the survey, most of the women were circumcised while they were under five years old.

Jamil Ali Rashid, the director general of health affairs at the ministry of health, said “the survey’s results are totally correct and credible because the participants were given clear questions and special teams examined the women who participated in the survey after their consent was secured.”

A campaign to end FGM practices in Kurdistan was launched in February 2010 by 51 non-governmental organizations.

Imam rapes ten-year-old girl

Dhaka (AsiaNews) – A ten-year-old girl was brutally raped on Saturday in Chittagong by Mohammad Moinuddin, the imam of the Chittagong Government Muslim High School. The 42-year-old man said that Satan led him to commit the deed at his shop at Yakubnagar in Firingibazar. The girl was taken to Chittagong’s Medical College Hospital for tests.

Kotwali Police Chief Abul Kalam Azad told AsiaNews that around 6 pm, the imam called the girl as she walked home from school. He then took her to a quiet place where he raped her.

The girl ran home bleeding and told everything to her parents. Her father ran to the place of the crime to apprehend the rapist, who was arrested right after police was informed of the incident.

“My daughter is just ten-years-old,” the father said. “Every time I pray, I cannot but think about what happened. I cannot believe that an imam, a man who learnt from the holy religion of Islam, a man who teaches others, is the same man who raped by daughter. I want justice.”

It Just Isn’t Christmas without a Muslim Bombing

Mistletoe. Egg nog. And now Muslim terrorism. Last year’s Christmas bomber was an African Muslim who stuffed his underwear full of plastic explosive and tried to detonate it on Flight 253.

This year it’s another African Muslim who tried to get an early start on Christmas terror by trying to car bomb a Christmas tree-lighting ceremony.

Last year’s Christmas terrorist hailed from Nigeria. This year’s mad Muslim bomber comes from Somalia. And they bring with them tidings of a new season. A season in which holiday shopping now comes with massacre plots mixed in with the radio jingles and cheer.

If gift wrapping and church going are Christmas traditions, carrying out massacres during other people’s holiday celebrations is a Muslim tradition. In Israel, holidays are a time for extra special caution. The Passover massacre in which dozens of senior citizens attending a holiday meal were murdered, the Yom Kippur War in which Muslim armies invaded Israel on the holiest day of its year or the Purim bombing outside a Tel Aviv mall using a nail bomb, are just some of the obvious examples of Muslim religious tolerance at work.

It’s not limited to Jews or Christians either. In 2008, a number of bombs went off in Delhi just before Diwali. And back in 1991, Muslims planned to massacre thousands of Hindus during Diwali. Had they succeeded, the death toll might have been bigger than 9/11. Nearly two decades ago, North America was put on alert that importing Muslim immigrants, also meant bringing along their genocidal tendencies. Like renting rooms to tenants whose dogs have a little rabies problem, importing Islam, also means bringing in the same people who have been murdering Christians, Jews, Hindus and countless others around the world, ever since Mohamed’s namesake first preached that he had a unique revelation and an exclusive license to kill, rob, rape and subjugate in the name of Allah.

While the news stories will insist that Mohamed Osman Mohamud (twice the Mohammed for twice the mayhem) was “lured” into a life of terror, he was just doing what Muslims since the time of Mohammed have naturally done. “O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you”, the Koran proclaims to the devout Muslim. For Mohamedx2, the “unbelievers” were grouping together at a Christmas tree-lighting ceremony in downtown Portland. And his goal was simple enough, “I want whoever is attending that event to leave, to leave dead or injured.”

For Muslims this is a religious war

While we may go on denying it, for Muslims this is a religious war. And what better target for terror, than an infidel’s religious event?

Sharia court considers severing defendant's spinal cord

A Saudi judge has asked several hospitals in the country whether they could damage a man’s spinal cord as punishment after he was convicted of attacking another man with a cleaver and paralyzing him, the brother of the victim said Thursday.

Abdul-Aziz al-Mutairi, 22, was left paralyzed and subsequently lost a foot after a fight more than two years ago. He asked a judge in northwestern Tabuk province to impose an equivalent punishment on his attacker under Islamic law, his brother Khaled al-Mutairi told The Associated Press by telephone from Saudi Arabia.

He said one of the hospitals, located in Tabuk, responded that it is possible to damage the spinal cord, but it added that the operation would have to be done at another more specialized facility. Saudi newspapers reported that a second hospital in the capital Riyadh declined, saying it could not inflict such harm.

Malaysia to Permit Child Marriages for Muslims

MALACCA: The Malacca Islamic Religious Council has agreed to allow male Muslims below 18 and female Muslims below 16 in the state to wed. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam, the council’s chairman, said the decision was taken to reduce the number of cases involving babies born out of wedlock and increasing cases of adultery.

He said the leeway would only be given upon gaining the permission of the Syariah Court as well as the families of the teenagers.[could anyone seriously believe that this will be denied? Ed.]

The decision was taken based on the resolutions submitted by delegates at a conference on combating social ills recently. “The state government is of the view that it is better for parents to give permission for their teen children to marry at a young age.

“It is a practical move in preventing cases of unwed teenage mothers and other social problems,” he said after launching the Ramadan Comprehension Seminar here yesterday, where he also handed zakat collectors letters of appointment and launched the Malacca State Mosque book.

Ali, said marriages involving young girls who were already pregnant would also be allowed but the fine would be determined by the Syariah Court.

In the state alone, 174 Muslim women gave birth outside wedlock in the first six months of the year, compared with 391 cases for the same period last year. All the women this year were students aged below 20.

The normal minimum marriage age in Malaysia is 18. But Muslims may marry younger if the local Syariah (Sharia) court permits it – which they frequently do. Only last month, two girls aged 10 and 11 were wed in the conservative northern state of Kelantan.

Study after study shows that girls subjected to sexual activity at such early ages suffer not only damage to their still-developing reproductive systems, but also lasting psychological trauma.

So why is supposedly-progressive Malaysia still making an exception for Muslims?

According to Shaikh Abdul Mohsin Al Abaican, a consultant at Saudi Arabia's royal court, a man who often entered a house and came in contact with the womenfolk there should be made symbolically related to the women by drinking milk from one of the women.

Under the fatwa, the act would preclude any sexual relations between the man and the donor woman and her relatives.

However, Al Abaican said that the donor woman should not breastfeed the man directly.

"The man should take the milk, but not directly from the breast of the woman," Al Abaican said. "He should drink it and then becomes a relative of the family, a fact that allows him to come in contact with the women without breaking Islam's rules about mixing," he said, quoted by Kuwaiti and Saudi media on Saturday.

However, the scholar said that his fatwa did not apply to family drivers, explaining that they were not permanent and could be replaced. "The fatwa is only for those who live in the house or need to get in often," he said.

Nigerian Senator Ahmed Sani Yerima being one such prophet-inspired pedophile, who justified his marrying a 13-year-old Egyptian girl recently by referring to 52-year-old Muhammad's marrying of Aisha, aged 6.

Nigerian Senator (49) married a 13-year-old girl

On Wednesday, April 28, 2010, Nigerian senate ordered probe into a prominent Muslim senator's alleged marriage to a 13-year-old Egyptian girl, after the national rights watchdog and 10 other groups accused him of shaming the country by marrying a child. According to media reports, Senator Ahmed Sani Yerima (49) from the Zamfara State allegedly paid 100,000 dollars as dowry and secretly married the unnamed teenage girl at the National Mosque in the capital Abuja. The petition by the 11-body investigating committee was presented to the upper house by chairman of senate committee on Women Affairs and Youth Development, Senator Eme Ufot Ekaette. It said that the marriage violated Nigeria's Child Rights Act 2003 that forbids marrying a girl under 18 years of age. The offence calls for a punishment of 500,000 naira (3,320 dollar/2,500 euro) as fine or a five-year jail term, or both. The petition also urged the senate to investigate the allegations, and disclose the name of the alleged child-bride, her age and the circumstances of her entry into Nigeria.

According to another source, Senators called for the investigation after receiving a petition by protesting women's groups, who believe Mr Sani has broken the law. Caroline Duffield, a representative of BBC in Lagos, says that Nigeria's human rights commission has already begun an investigation.

While Talking to BBC, Mma Wokocha, President of the Women's Medical Association and one of those behind the petition, said, "What we are concerned with is that our minors, the girl children, should be allowed to mature, before going into marriage. This very evil act should not be seen to be perpetrated by one of our distinguished legislators.”

The female senators, lawyers and doctors who are protesting say that they fear for the child's health. News reports have further accused the senator of marrying a 15-year-old girl in 2006, and divorcing her to marry the said 13-year-old Egyptian girl. It has been decided that a Senate committee will investigate the matter.

Senator Yerim, however, denied of committing any offence according to Sharia law.

“I have not done anything that violates Sharia, so I am not bothered about anything if anybody accuses me and I don’t think I have committed any offence. There are laws laid down by Allah regarding marriage. In my position as a Muslim, I followed all the procedures for marriage in Islam. If I had violated any provision of the law in Islam, I would have been disturbed, the issue of age does not arise”, he said.

He further referred to the marriage of Prophet Muhammad, who, at the age of 52, had married 6-year-old child Ayesha, and added: “It is true that I got married but it is not true that I married a 13 year old girl. But what I want to say on this issue is, when I was governor, I said on several occasions that Allah has made me to take life like any other Muslim. All the things that Allah said we should do and all the things that the Prophet said we should do, I have tried to do them.”

But the plain truth is that he has purchased, in the garb of marriage, a 13-year-old Egyptian sex-slave, for $ 100,000. In a like manner, his Prophet also acquired child Ayesha by his political influence. While Muslims see as fulfillment of a holy prophetic tradition permitted by the divine law of Allah (see Q 65:4), any sane individual would find such incidents as nothing but nauseating and criminal pursuit of sex, with Prophet Muhammad being the originator of this trend amongst Muslims worldwide.

An Indonesian Cleric probed over child bride

Pujiono Cahyo Widayanto, aka Syech/Syekh Puji, a 43-year-old Muslim cleric and head of an Islamic boarding school (Ponpes Miftahul Jannah) in Bedono, Jambu, Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia, informally married 12-year-old Lutfiana Ulfa in August 2008. The wealthy Muslim cleric, also a businessman, was arrested by Police and questioned in court over his marriage to the minor village girl. The marriage sparked an outcry from civic groups in the world's most populous Muslim country, said the Jakarta Globe.

Widiyanto and his supporters say his actions are acceptable under Islam, but others say he should abide by state law, which sets 16 as the minimum age for marriage. Although Indonesian law carries stiff penalties for pedophilia, arranged marriages between older men and girls are not uncommon, especially in poorer rural areas.

Prosecutors had charged Pujiono of violating the 2002 law on child protection and article 290 of Indonesia's Criminal Code on child molestation for marrying an underage girl. “We've collected enough evidence to charge him with under age obscenity under the Criminal Code,” said the chief detective Royhardi Siahaan. He was quoted as saying, “The charges carried a maximum of 15 years jail.”

But after hearing the charges and the plea from the legal team of Pujiono alias Syech Puji, led by top lawyer O.C. Kaligis, presiding judge Hari Mulyanto deemed the charges unclear and inaccurate, meaning the trial could not proceed. On 14 October, reported Jakarta Post, Indonesian court acquitted cleric Widianto of charges of sexual molestation of a child for marrying an underage girl of 12. "It's a bad precedent. The decision is legally flawed. The judges have no commitment to upholding child protection laws," said Jakarta Post after the ruling. "We will redraft the charges immediately and file an appeal," said prosecutor Didik Djoko Ady after the trial.

In this case also, the cleric argued that he had committed no crime and said, “The marriage was allowed by his religion." Child protection advocates are quite correct that the ruling sets a bad precedent, but the precedent that contributes even more to the persistence of child marriage in Islamic countries is “Muhammad's own example, having married Aisha at the age of six, and consummating the marriage when she was nine.”

Holy Tradition of the Holy Prophet

Nearly 15 years ago, I started reading Islamic scriptures and biographies of Prophet Muhammad. When I came across the fact that Muhammad, at 52, married Ayesha, a child of 6, I could not believe that a religious man or a Prophet could indulge in such a sordid and shameful thing. Yet amazingly, such a man is being treated as a holy Prophet by nearly 1.5 billion Muslims around the world. Today, many apologists are trying to prove, simply by twisting facts, that Ayesha was 16 or older, when Muhammad married her. But Dr Ali Sina, in his recent article Controversies About the Age of Aisha has conclusively proved that Ayesha was a child of 6, when she was married to Muhammad and when the Prophet consummated his marriage, she was 9 years old. There are several hadiths that conclusively mention this fact. A few of them are quoted below:

Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64, says - :Narrated 'Aisha: that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death).

Sahih Bukhari Volume 8, Book 73, Number 151, says - Narrated 'Aisha: “I used to play with the dolls in the presence of the Prophet, and my girl friends also used to play with me. One must wonder of what psychology was the Prophet of Islam, who, at 52, could look upon a 6-year-old child for his sexual partner—undoubtedly only fitting for a lustful and perverted Bedouin, and definitely unfitting for a civilized society and for a pious man, less so for a Prophet.

A group of Bangladeshi ex-Muslim in the U.K., while commenting on this aspect of the Prophet's life, said: “One who claims himself to be a messenger of God is expected to live a saintly life. He must not be given to lust, he must not be a sexual pervert, and he must not be a rapist, a highway robber, a war criminal, a mass murderer or an assassin. One who claims to be a messenger of God must have a superior character. He must stand above the vices of the people of his time. Yet Muhammad’s life is that of a gangster godfather. He raided merchant caravans, looted innocent people, massacred entire male populations and enslaved the women and children. He raped the women captured in war after killing their husbands and told his followers that it is okay to have sex with their captives (Quran 33:50). He assassinated those who criticized him and executed them when he came to power and became de facto despot of Arabia. Muhammad was bereft of human compassion. He was an obsessed man with his dreams of grandiosity and could not forgive those who stood in his way.”If she grows up and I am still alive I will marry her.”

However, this precedence of Muhammad is inspiring Muslims around the world become pedophiles, the Nigerian Senator Hasan Yerim being one, who justified his shameful behavior saying: "All the things that Allah said we should do and all the things that the Prophet said we should do, I have tried to do them.”

Child-marriage is common in Islamic countries. In Yemen, a quarter of the girls are married off before the age of 15, and over 50% before 18. Many of these child-brides die from genital injuries as their husbands forcibly rape the girls, not yet unprepared for sex.

Muslims justify such criminal sexual activity as a fulfillment of the Prophet's tradition, but they are not allowed to emulate every perverted sexual tradition of Muhammad. For example, to Muhammad's basket of scandalous sexual behavior and acts must be added the fact that he had married 22 times, and had about a dozen wives at the same time. But common Muslims are not allowed to emulate this sunnah, because Allah preserved it for the Prophet only, allowing Muslims to marry 4 wives only.

Muhammad had inducted a number of sex-slaves also to his harem, a shameful holy tradition of the prophet, which Muslims won't seek to emulate anymore today. Muhammad married Maimuna while he was in the state of muhrim, while performing pilgrimage. It is not difficult to imagine how chaotic it would be if the millions of pilgrims, who go to Mecca to perform hajj, want to marry in the state of muhrim to fulfill this holy sunnah of the Prophet. Muhammad seduced his daughter-in-law Zainab (wife of his adopted son Zeid) and ultimately married her. But most Muslims today would neither defend nor emulate this holy sunnah of the Prophet either.

More loathsome is the fact that even a crawling baby-girl could arouse sexual urge in the prophet of Islam. One day when he was visiting the house of a close companion, he saw his baby daughter crawling on the ground. Then he said: "If she grows up and I am still alive I will marry her.” He died before she grew up. She was married to someone called Sufyan b. al-Aswad.

Almost unheard of is an 'honor killing' or 'honor rape' of a man.

But the northern Afghanistan province of Jowzjan is grappling with just that, after the sons of the region's governor and police chief were found having sex with two women almost a month ago in the Dasht-i Leile desert, north of the provincial capital Shiberghan.

According to local media reports, a man named Yama, the 30-year-old son of the Jowzjan governor, and his friend Hashmatullah, the 28-year-old son of the provincial police chief, was seen by local herdsmen having sex with 24-year old Shokreya and 22-year-old Jamila.

The herdsmen allegedly stole the men's guns and money and gang raped them in retribution for the 'dishonor' they had committed by having sex with the two young women.

"The farmers tore the clothes of the two young men with sickles and raped them," a local official told Pajhwok Afghan News. The herdsmen later described to local organizations that the attack was an 'honor rape.'

As the story goes, the two men were left naked in the desert, only to return home covered by the women's burqas and unable to sit down due to their injuries. The two women were reportedly unharmed, but told to leave the area within two weeks.

An off-the-cuff comment by a leader of Saudi Arabia's religious police has led to dismissals, death threats and debates about menopause.

The story of how a $10-billion scientific research center led Saudi Arabia to a series of royal dismissals, religious death threats and a senior Saudi sheikh making national news for screaming at a Kuwaiti woman "you are post menopausal whether you admit it or not", is long and convoluted.

It all began with a $10 billion new research center.

In late September last year, Saudi King Abdullah opened the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), billing it as the Arab world's most advanced university on the northern shores of Jeddah.

Hoping to attract high-level international talent, the king took a gamble, announcing the university would be the kingdom's first co-educational institution, with male and female students from over 60 countries studying side by side, unveiled women driving around the 14-square-mile campus, and no religious police on site.

Against the backdrop of a region that makes up only 1.1 percent of global scientific publishing, KAUST was one of the Arab world's most ambitious educational initiatives in over a decade and, one would think, a source of pride for many Saudis.

It didn't work out that way.

The advent of mass gender mixing in an institution founded by the king caused a crises for Saudi Arabia's conservative religious authorities, with support of KAUST becoming a cultural proxy war for whether or not women and men should be allowed to mix publicly.

Care to guess who the worst human rights abusers of Arabs really are?

Arab countries attack Israel on trumped-up charges of human rights violations to cover up their own systemic human rights violations. Not only does the Arab world ignore the rule of international human rights law, many of its violations – from sanctioning honor killings of women to cross-amputations for criminals – are enshrined in the legal system of most Muslim countries. Palestinian self-rule is no different.¹

Arab Nations’ Actions Fail to Put Human Rights Commitments Into Practice

In 1948, the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It was the first document considered to hold universal principles of behavior that was agreed upon by an international body. It recognized the fundamental rights of every person to life, liberty, and security; to freedom of speech, religion, and education; and to the right of freedom from torture and degrading treatment. Forty-five years later at the World Conference on Human Rights in 1993, 171 countries reiterated the universality, indivisibility, and interdependence of human rights.

Most Arab countries have constitutions that champion human rights on paper. They also have signed a number of joint declarations of high principles: The 1981 Universal Islamic Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the Islamic Council,² the 1994 draft of the Arab Charter on Human Rights approved by the Arab League,³ the 1999 Casablanca Declaration that purported to establish an Arab Human Rights Movement,⁴ and the 1999 Beirut Declaration touted as the First Arab Conference on Justice.⁵ Yet despite the documents’ lofty principles, the record shows the Arab world is one of the worst offenders in the field of human rights.

In its 2001 report, Amnesty International found:

“[g]ross human rights violations took place throughout much of the Middle East and North Africa. They ranged from extra judicial executions to widespread use of torture and unfair trials, harassment and intimidation of human rights defenders. Freedom of expression and association continued to be curtailed; the climate of impunity remained and the victims were still awaiting steps to bring those responsible for past human rights violations to justice.”⁶

In Algeria, for instance, the report cites that more than 2,500 people were killed in 2001 in “individual attacks, massacres, bomb explosions and armed confrontations, and hundreds of civilians killed by armed groups.”

In Iraq, dozens of women accused of prostitution were beheaded without any judicial process, as was a woman obstetrician who actually was silenced for being critical of corruption in the health system. Iran reported 75 executions, and Saudi Arabia recorded 34 amputations as punishment.

By contrast, most of Amnesty’s report on Israel focused on unwarranted or “excessive use of force” that led to casualties among Palestinians in response to “political violence.” It also criticized Israel for arrest, detention, and trial procedures against Palestinians.

Despite Amnesty’s criticism of Israel, what is most revealing is how the Arab world responds not to its own human rights violations, but to Israel’s. Arab leaders go out of their way to exaggerate and spread lies about Israel’s behavior, not only to demonize Israel, but also to create a smoke screen that covers up Arab nations’ own deplorable human rights record.

It is a profound irony that the Arab world, which charges Israel with “ethnic cleansing” and “genocide,” destroyed once-thriving Jewish communities in Arab lands, which today are all but void of Jews. Even in areas of the West Bank and Gaza administered by the Palestinian Authority, Israeli Jews who visit there put their lives in jeopardy.⁷ That picture contrasts sharply from the status of the more than one million Israeli Arabs who enjoy full citizenship and human rights, and can visit and work in Jewish cities unmolested. Nevertheless, Arab and Palestinian charges against Israel persist. Among them are claims that Israeli security procedures such as roadblocks, closures, and searches established to fight terrorism purposely humiliate Palestinians.

The purpose of the smear campaign is not only to criminalize the State of Israel and the Jewish people, but also to attract additional sympathizers from the Western world. Yet those fallacious and often rabidly antisemitic diatribes are also designed to deflect attention away from the deeds of the accusers, and serve to protect genuine abusers of human rights both in the Arab world and elsewhere. Tit-for-tat arrangements among genuinely guilty nations have turned the UN’s human rights apparatus into what one critic labeled “an abusers’ caucus.”⁸

In fact, independent monitoring bodies in the West say that Israel is the only genuine democracy in the Middle East with separation of powers, due process, and respect for minority rights. And it is the only country in the North Africa and West Asia region that was ranked free in a survey of religious freedom conducted by the Center for Religious Freedom.⁹

Arab Violations: A Daily Affair

By contrast, human rights violations throughout the Arab world are a daily affair, using any objective yardstick.

The absence of basic human rights is reflected not only in the actions of regimes, but also in their social values and attitudes, which are rife with intolerance for the Other. The Arab Middle East suffers from intolerance toward non-Muslims, suppression of ethnic minorities, gross gender bias, and discrimination and persecution of people who are different in virtually every realm of life – from political views to sexual orientation.

Incredibly, suppression of freedom of expression can extend even to the reporting of public opinion. Two Iranian pollsters were sentenced to eight - and nine - year prison terms after their survey found strong public support for contact with the United States. Authorities accused the two of selling secrets to groups linked to the CIA. Among the groups cited was the Gallup organization, which had paid for the poll to find out opinions of people in the Islamic world toward America after the September 11th attacks.¹⁰

Possibly the greatest threat from outside the Arab world, and perhaps rightly so, is the Internet. That is why many Arab nations have employed methods for restricting the flow of information from the Web.¹¹ Proxy servers filter access to content in Yemen, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia. Indeed, the Saudi government-controlled server banned at least 400,000 Websites, including sites about religion, politics, women, health, pop culture and more, a Harvard study found.¹² Many Arab governments read their citizens’ e-mail, just as they tap phones and restrict free speech. One Bahraini spent over a year in jail for e-mailing allegedly political information to dissidents abroad. In Jordan, taxation and monthly Internet fees are priced so high – $70 a month for moderate usage – that only an estimated 20,000 Jordanians out of five million could afford access to the Web in 1999. By comparison, among Israel’s 6.4 million residents, 600,000 subscribed to Internet providers in 1999, and moderate usage ran an affordable $22 a month.¹³ Astoundingly, out of 880,000 subscribers in the entire Middle East in May 1999, more than 600,000 were from Israel, where no restrictions on Internet usage exist.¹⁴ Israel’s Business Arena reported in November 2001 that there were 1.93 million people with Internet access in Israel. The number of active home Internet users totaled 956,000.¹⁵

Other sharp splits over human rights divide Israel from its neighbors. One such realm centers on homosexuality, where the lives of Palestinian gays are so jeopardized that some have fled to Israel,¹⁶ where tolerance is the law of the land, where workplace discrimination is prohibited, where single-sex couples are eligible for spousal benefits and pensions in the civil service, and declared homosexuals serve in the army and participate in all aspects of public life.¹⁷

Endangered Human Rights Groups

Maybe it’s not so surprising given the conditions in most Arab nations, but human rights monitoring organizations in the Middle East also face tremendous danger.

If anything, the state of human rights in the Arab world is deteriorating, according to the Arab Commission for Human Rights,¹⁸ an umbrella group established in 1998 to try to unify human rights organizations in the region. The Commission reported that:

Mosab Hassan Yousef, who helped Israel's security forces kill and arrest members of the Islamic militant group Hamas, is probably marked for death. He should be keeping silent. But he's got a story to tell, one he delivers in his new book published this week, "Son of Hamas."
"To be honest with you, being killed is not the worst thing that can happen," he said Wednesday in an interview with The Associated Press. "If they want to do kill me ... let them do it, and they will be responsible for my blood."
In his memoir, Yousef, the 32-year-old son of a Hamas founder, claims he was one of the Shin Bet security agency's best assets and was dubbed The Green Prince, a reference to his Hamas pedigree and the Islamists' signature green color.
During his 50-minute interview, for which he arrived with armed security, Yousef took shots at Hamas leaders including political chief Khaled Meshaal. He lashed out at Hamas, saying the organization lives in the Middle Ages.
And he hurled his most inflammatory comments at Islam, which he called a religion that teaches people to kill.
"It is not a religion of peace," said Yousef, who converted to Christianity. "The biggest terrorist is the God of the Quran. I know this is very dangerous and this will offend many people. The more you follow the steps of the prophet of Islam and the God of Islam, the more you get close to being a terrorist."
Yousef said he started working with the Shin Bet after he was arrested and witnessed Hamas brutalities inside prison. When he was released in 1997, he started meeting with the Shin Bet and gravitating toward Christianity.
Yousef thought he could do some good, preventing the deaths of Israelis and Palestinians.
"I got a chance to stop killing," he said.

A Saudi woman who filed harassment claims in Saudi Arabia without being accompanied by a male relative has been sentenced to 300 lashes and 18 months in jail, Human Rights Watch said.
Sawsan Salim lodged a series of complaints in 2007 at government offices and in court in the northern region of Qasim in which she alleged harassment by local officials, the New York-based rights group said. She was sentenced in January on charges of making “spurious complaints” against government officials and appearing “without a male guardian,” the group said in an e-mailed statement received today.

“In Saudi Arabia, being a woman going about her legitimate business without a man’s protection is apparently a crime,” Nadya Khalife, women’s rights researcher at Human Rights Watch, said in the statement. “The government needs to free Sawsan Salim and keep its promise to end this discriminatory system.”

Bandar bin Mohammed al-Aiban, president of the government- run Saudi Human Rights Commission, couldn’t be reached immediately for comment.

Saudi Arabia, which maintains a code of Islamic morals, said in June at a meeting of the Geneva-based United Nations Human Rights Council that it would end the male-guardianship rule, said Human Rights Watch.

Saudi Arabia rape victim to be lashed 100 times

Riyadh (AsiaNews/Agencies) – A woman jailed after being raped could be lashed 100 times. Camille, an invented name, is a 35- year-old immigrant from the Philippines who has been in a Saudi jail since September 2009. As a result of her rape, she became pregnant, but miscarried because of harsh prison life.

Under Saudi Arabia’s rigid application of Sharia or Islamic law, sexual relations outside of wedlock are strictly forbidden, irrespective of whether the woman is consenting or not. In fact, rape is punished in accordance with rules laid down in the Qur‘an.

The woman’s mother told her story in an interview with GMANews.Tv. Last spring, Camille went to Saudi Arabia to work in a dental clinic to support her 5, 14 and 15-year-old children. In August, a co-worker from Bangladesh raped her.

Knowing that extra-marital relations are punishable under Saudi law, she did not go to the police to file charges, and tried instead to leave the country and return to the Philippines.

During a routine medical examination that expatriates must undergo before leaving, doctors found that she was pregnant. An arrest warrant was issued against her and on 11 September 2009, she was locked up in Hafer al Baten Central Jail.

Because of the generally harsh conditions in Saudi prisons, Camille miscarried last December.

According to her mother, she is scheduled to go before the judges who could impose 100 lashes.

Sudoku and Understanding Muhammad

Like trying to force a Sudoku solution with wrong numbers, the life of Muhammad simply can't be reconciled to history and political correctness.

For those who like simple analogies, here's one: understanding Muhammad is like doing a Sudoku (or crossword or jigsaw) puzzle. As long as you put down the correct number (or word or piece), everything flows smoothly until completion. Make one uncorrected mistake, and you find yourself forcing things to make them fit. You can do that for a few moves, but unless you correct the error it's impossible to finish.

To solve the Muhammad puzzle correctly, begin with a young man in Mecca with a very big dream. Leading trade caravans to Damascus as well as his interaction with caravans crisscrossing Mecca opened his eyes to a world much larger than his own.

Now imagine putting together the jigsaw puzzle (perhaps even one portraying the face of Muhammad!) from the perspective of a Muslim believer or a western non-Muslim apologist for Islam (present and all recent American Presidents included). You believe that a noble young man of Arabia, heartbroken over the idolatry and human rights abuses of his people, was called by God to be the final Prophet of the one true religion. This peaceful Prophet suffered oppression and persecution for 13 years until he was driven from his home to a distant city. There he received direction from God to lead battles of defense against the persecutors who were determined to destroy him and his nascent community. He was guided to conduct raids against the trade caravans to recover the goods his followers had lost in Mecca. He was commanded to remove the Jewish tribes of Medina who opposed his righteous message. He was ordered to marry numerous wives to fortify his political and social unions, as well as to exemplify mercy to widows and divorcees. He was led to order the extermination of all Christians and Jews from Arabia, and was given God's plan to bring the entire world under submission to Islam.

It's not long, however, before you are forcing pieces of the puzzle to try to make them fit. How does a holy Prophet of God in his mid-50s sexually conquer and ejaculate into an innocent 9 year old child? Push that piece into place if you can. How does he tire of her within a few months and begin taking other wives? Force that piece into the puzzle (the first was the beautiful Hafsah, at 20 twice Aysha's age) . Imagine young men on a camel caravan returning from a successful trip to Damascus where they traded olives and figs for the goods their families would live on for the next year. Suddenly they are terrified by a calvary of men with swords held high shouting Allahu Akbar as they swoop down on them to steal their goods, kill some of them, and sell the others for slaves or ransom. Justify that as you push that piece into place.
Listen to the Prophet describe the beautiful virgins waiting for his warriors in paradise to satisfy all their sexual desires if they die in battle, (Quran 52:20 and numerous similar verses) and then sending them off to war to do just that. Push that piece into place. Watch him sending his female prisoners of war across the desert to be sold as slaves for weapons and horses. How do you force that piece into the puzzle? See him and his warriors lining up the young Jewish boys of Medina and examining them for pubic hair to decide whether they would be beheaded with their fathers or exiled with their mothers. Can you push that piece into place (Book 38, 4390)? Listen to the Prophet joyfully telling one wife that Allah has commanded him to marry his own daughter-in-law. Push that into place if you can. Go with him to visit another wife and then hear him lie to get her out of the house so he can sleep with the beautiful Egyptian slave girl he has recently given her. Can you force that into place? Watch him torture a young Jewish man to death for refusing to reveal the location of his wealth that Muhammad wants to steal, and then accompany the Prophet as he "marries" his wife the same night. Can you really push that piece into place? Listen to the Prophet bless and congratulate the companion who drove his spear through the body of a young Jewish poetess as she lay sleeping with her nursing child because she had written poetry he did not like. Try to force that piece into place if you can.
Some jigsaw puzzles have 1000 pieces, and one could easily find that many examples of Muslims trying to force each one into place as they attempt to defend their Prophet. There is, however, good news. Thousands of men and women who were born Muslim are giving up the impossible task (see here and here). They might be now Buddhist, Christian, atheist, or simply following their own conscience, but they are free. They come from many backgounds, but they could probably all echo the sentiments of Aayan Hirsi Ali who was once asked by Manji Irshad why she had chosen to leave Islam rather than become a "Muslim reformer". Aayan's simple response was, "I couldn't live with the dichotomy for five minutes." Many others are saying the same.

Indian teacher accused of preaching Christianity expelled from Vaikaradhoo, Maldives

An Indian teacher employed at Haa Dhaalu Atoll Vaikaradhoo School has been expelled from that island after being accused of spreading Christianity.

Vaikaradhoo Councillor Ahmed Hashim said that the Indian national who taught Computer Studies at the school on that island was sent to Male on Thursday at the request of the Ministry of Education. He said that a Maldivian teacher had complained that the Indian had been trying to tell students stories about Christianity in order to spread that religion.

Hashim said that “even as he was being escorted out of the island the man had asked someone to spread the stories he had told. The man had also taught a Christian prayer to a large number of students.”

"He had spoken to students about the Sacred Prophet (Mohamed) in derogatory terms", Hashim added.

The Police Office confirmed that although the matter has been referred to the Police, investigations are being done by the Education Ministry.

So far we have not been able to obtain any comment from the Education Ministry regarding this matter.

Earlier this month there was an allegation that a foreign teacher who teaches in Raa Atoll Rasgetheemu had spoken to students criticising Islam.

The Human Development Index (HDI) was developed by the Pakistani economist Mahbub ul Haq. It is a measure of poverty, literacy, education, life expectancy, childbirth, and other factors for countries worldwide & is a standard means of measuring well-being.
In the list of top thirty countries ranked on the basis of HDI, there is not a single Islamic country even though they control most of the world’s oil.

Is it because the blind faith does not allow for rational thinking which is a must for scientific progress?
Or because of a lack of freedom in Islamic societies (innovations & inventions thrive in free societies & free thought)

Or because of the intolerance practised in Islam – no tolerance for criticism or the other point of view, or the inability to accept that there is a problem. (To solve a problem the first step is to accept there is one!)

In yet another incident of a frenzied mob out to punish alleged blasphemy, a young man was beaten to death after his father reportedly claimed that he was the last prophet of Islam. The alleged blasphemer — an illiterate brick-kiln worker-turned-faith healer — is in police custody and other members of his family are in hiding. Their lives may still be in danger as reports from the area suggest that public anger has not subsided.

The incident is part of an established pattern. Propelled and led by religious leaders, an angry mob takes the law into its own hands to punish alleged blasphemers. The authorities almost always fail to defuse the situation. The Gojra incident in August 2009, where allegations of blasphemy led to deaths and large-scale arson, is one example.

In its attempts to ‘Islamise’ society over the years, especially during the Zia era, the state has come to a point where it is not able to rein in the obscurantist forces of its own creation. It has lost its authority to challenge the semi-literate maulvis who do more harm than good.

Few things have fed such forces more than the blasphemy laws. Since the mid-1980s when these laws were introduced, blasphemy cases have grown exponentially. Many alleged blasphemers have died, mostly at the hands of mobs, much before their case was heard or decided.

These laws have been used as weapons for personal, political, social and economic victimisation. What else can justify the registration of a blasphemy case against the country’s foremost development practitioner Dr Akhtar Hameed Khan?

Efforts must be made towards the repeal of the blasphemy laws if the state is serious about dousing religious anger before it is consumed by it.

The 23-year-old Nigerian charged with trying to detonate a bomb on a Northwest Airlines flight over Detroit on Christmas Day was lonely and sexually repressed, according to messages left on an Islamic website.

As a US Senate Homeland Security committee continued to argue this week about how to handle Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the emotional anguish in his web posts provides an insight into fanatical Islam and what drives often hapless young men to become suicide bombers. Much as we would like them to be, they are not monsters.

Being the son of a wealthy banker, and living in London, Abdulmutallab had no real beef with Western life, did not complain about racism or express concern for downtrodden Muslim brothers.

But, like the September 11 bombers, who visited strip clubs before their date with destiny, when his devout religious beliefs conflicted with his corporeal desires, he found that blowing himself up along with a whole lot of infidels was preferable to being sexually frustrated.

As the New York Post put it: “The bomb wasn’t the only thing burning in his pants.”
On the Islamic Forum of the Gawaher website in 2005 and 2006 were more than 300 posts by Farouk1986 – Abdulmutallab’s middle name and birth year.

Under the heading: “I think I feel lonely,” Farouk1986 complains he has never found “a true Muslim friend”.

“As I get lonely, the natural sexual drive awakens and I struggle to control it, sometimes leading to minor sinful activities like not lowering the gaze.

“And this problem makes me want to get married to avoid getting aroused … but I am only 18.” In another post, he writes ”the hair of a woman can easily arouse a man”.

He also writes of “my dilemma between liberalism and extremism … how should one put the balance right?”

He talks at one point about his fantasies: ”The bad part of it is sometimes the fantasies are a bit worldly rather than concentrating in the hereafter.”

He tries instead to focus on more acceptable “jihad fantasies”.

”I imagine how the great jihad will take place, how the Muslims will win Insha’Allah and rule the whole world, and establish the greatest empire once again!!!”

As the youngest of 16 children and the son of his father’s No. 2 wife, he reportedly spent most of his childhood at an English boarding school in West Africa. The trajectory to extreme violence of this gentle, pious young man who wanted so much to be good and consequential, and yet was consumed with guilt about sex, fits with much of what is known about other Islamist suicide bombers.

Perhaps the best psychological explanation comes from United in Hate: The Left’s Romance with Tyranny and Terror, the recent book by Jamie Glazov, the managing editor of FrontPage Magazine.

In a chapter entitled “To Hate a Woman”, he describes in chilling detail the oppression of women in parts of the Muslim world and the “theological justification” for violence against females “from the very moment of their birth”.

Islamist hatred of women has “fertilised the soil in which … terrorism and the new death cult have grown”.

He claims there is an “Islamist war on private love [which] derives most of its energy from a deep-seated misogyny. Women’s empowerment, independence and self-determination, especially the sexual variety, pose a threat to Islamism’s very existence.”

Islamist misogyny, he claims, comes from Islam itself. “The notion that women are by their very nature inferior to men is the underpinning of the entire structure and derives its legitimacy from numerous traditional teachings.”

It is no coincidence that the Arabic word “fitna” has two meanings – beautiful woman and social chaos.

Glazov writes that in many Islamic societies, “women are supposed to dehumanise themselves in order to be tolerated … Women are considered to be the incarnation of shahwa [desire] which comes from the devil. In this environment the pathological notion arises that a man and a woman cannot be alone without the ominous threat of evil in their midst.

“The men denigrate the object of their lust so as to diminish their own shame. In this dynamic of sexual repression and misogyny, love is reduced to violent domination which becomes directly intertwined with terrorism against societies that allow women freedom, especially sexual freedom.”

Practices such as polygamy and repudiation – in which a man can divorce his wife by pronouncing certain words – conspire to “minimise the possibility of private love even among married couples”.

“Islam teaches that the sexual act is dirty and consequently surrounds it with rituals. The objective is to build a wall between the lovers themselves.”

Polygamy, Glazov writes, has a disastrous effect on Muslim boys who grow up with “all kinds of siblings born of different women which gives them the idea that none of these women, including their own mother, was good enough to be cherished alone. The boys internalise this misogyny which leads in turn to self hate.”

Their psychological abandonment of their mothers is “directly connected to their urge for terror and suicide”.

Female genital mutilation, in which a woman’s clitoris – or entire external genital organs – is removed is an attempt to “deny women even the possibility of personal happiness and sexual satisfaction”.

Glazov writes of Saudi instructional TV programs about wife-beating and cites a report from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences which estimated 90 per cent of Pakistani wives had been beaten or sexually abused for offences such as cooking an unsatisfactory meal.

These stories are not remote from Australian concerns. The Islamic Women’s Welfare Council of Victoria, in a 2008 report, since removed from its website, concluded that some Australian Muslim religious leaders condoned rape within marriage, polygamy and domestic violence.

In gang rape trials, Muslim men have mounted the defence that their strict religious upbringing made them believe they could rape Australian non-Muslim girls.

This week, in Melbourne, an Afghan refugee is being tried for allegedly strangling his wife with her veil after complaining she was “becoming Australian”. The jury was told the victim had claimed her husband punched her and told her her only purpose was to have babies.

FP: Nonie Darwish, welcome to Frontpage Interview.

I would like to talk to you today a bit about the Muslim voices for change that are increasing through the Islamic world. There is an unprecedented defiance taking place behind the Islamic Curtain.

Can you tell us what is transpiring?

Darwish: As you know, Jamie, I lived for 30 years in the cocoon of the Muslim world and I can see a huge change going on inside the Muslim world. More and more people are challenging the status quo.

After 9/11 and with constant recurring explosive Islamic terrorism, it has become harder for the Muslim establishment to keep the lid on Muslims questioning their system, religion and holy wars. Criticism of Islam is coming at them from every direction, putting Muslim clerics in a quagmire unable to honestly answer questions. Muslim scholars were never trained to answer questions critical of Islam or engage in hostile debate. But now, suddenly, they are challenged to the core like never before, not by Western critics, but by brave hosts of Arabic language shows from unidentified locations in the West and hosted by former Muslims and/or Egyptian Christian Copts.

Father Zakareya Botros rocks the Arab world with his show "Howard Al Hak" or "Honest Debate" when callers from various parts of the Muslim world call in renouncing Islam. Former Muslim turned Christian, Rachid Hmami, originally from Morocco, has a popular show "Fil Samim", or "from the core". Hmami, who is the son of a Muslim cleric, is eloquent, respectful with a calm and peaceful demeanor -- a characteristic in sharp contrast to the angry loud and cursing image of many Muslim clerics.

The Muslim leadership is suddenly under a lot of pressure to answer taboo questions rarely ever asked before; taboo topics such as questioning the validity of the Qur'an, the life and marriage of Mohammad, his violent wars and assassinations, the fact that there is no minimum age for marriage of women in Islam and about ridiculous Fatwas regarding breast feeding of adult males by Muslim women and Muhammad's urine as a cure. Muslim callers to these Arabic shows have proved beyond doubt how many Muslims have no clue as to what is written in their scriptures and religious laws.

Many Muslims are demanding answers from their religious leaders and for them to vigorously defend such criticism of Islam. However, not one Muslim cleric has answered the questions on people's minds. Their response is more yelling, threatening, hate speech, paranoid accusations and propaganda of misinformation. This led Hmami and Father Zakaria, for instance, to personally challenge Muslim leaders to a debate. A well-known Muslim cleric was exposed to have lied when he accepted the challenge to debate on TV, but privately, on recorded phone call with Hmami, the Muslim cleric was evasive, lied and declined the invitation to the debate, giving ridiculous excuses.

FP: Where do we stand with the apostate issue?

Darwish: For the first time in Egyptian Islamic history, a number of apostates have come out publicly demanding their right choose to leave Islam and practice Christianity. Their demand was legally rejected and fatwas of death issued against them. Maher al-Gohari, Mohammed Higazi, and prominent feminist attorney Naglaa Al Imam, are among a few courageous ones. From the number of callers to the shows who claim they left Islam, I believe the number of apostates inside the Muslim world to be significant but are mostly silent. The main power of Islam and its clerics lie in the Muslim death sentence for apostasy and blasphemy. A number of apostates living in the West have greatly impacted the Muslim world. Among those are Wafa Sultan, the Italian/Egyptian Magdi Allam who was baptized by the Pope, Ibn Warraq and myself, and many others such as several former graduates of the Islamic Al Azhar University living today in the West.

I have received a recently released Arabic poem claimed to have been written by Taha Hussein, the prominent Egyptian father of Arabic literature 1889-1973. The highly intellectual and well written poem is extremely critical of the God of Islam and admits the apostasy of its writer. Hussein was once prosecuted with the accusation of insulting Islam. Challenges to Islam are coming from intellectuals, artists and journalists across the Muslim world, such as the Egyptian Sayed El Qemany; they must walk a fine line lest they get accused of apostasy or blasphemy.

While this trend challenging Islam is significant when compared to recent history, we must caution from being over optimistic for a reformation in Islam since the new trend is still in its infancy and has not yet established itself legitimately to become part of the mainstream. The reaction to such a challenge is intense and often violently lashing out in the form of acts of threat and terror. Some Muslim people of influence have admitted recently that terrorism is a Muslim commandment. On January of 2006, a member of Egyptian Parliament, "Ragab Hilal Hamida', said from the floor of the Egyptian Parliament that "the Quran directly commands us to commit terrorism, so why are we afraid of it?"

In 2001, the monumental sixth century Buddhas of Bamiyan were dynamited on orders from Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar. The United States and other Western governments issued protests. Afghanistan’s Islamist rulers shrugged them off.
In 2010, Al-Kifl, the tomb of the Prophet Ezekiel, near Baghdad, is being desecrated. On the tomb are inscriptions in Hebrew and an ark in which a Torah was displayed centuries ago. Iraq’s Antiquities and Heritage Authority, under pressure from Islamists, is erasing the Hebrew words, removing the Hebrew ornaments and planning to build a mosque on top of the grave.
So far, we’re hearing protests from almost no one. But this is not just another “Where is the outrage?” story. The larger and more alarming trend is that in a growing number of Muslim-majority countries a war is being waged against non-Muslim minorities.
Where non-Muslim minorities already have been “cleansed” — as in Afghanistan and Iraq — the attacks are against their memory. Ethnic minorities also are being targeted: The genocidal conflict against the black Muslims of Darfur is only the most infamous example.
Connect these dots: In Nigeria this week, Muslim youths set fire to a church, killing more than two dozen Christian worshippers. In Egypt, Coptic Christians have been suffering increased persecution including, this month, a drive-by shooting outside a church in which seven people were murdered. In Pakistan, Christian churches were bombed over Christmas. In Turkey, authorities have been closing Christian churches, monasteries and schools. Recently, churches in Malaysia have been attacked, too, provoked by this grievance: Christians inside the churches were referring to God as “Allah.” How dare infidels use the same name for the Almighty as do Muslims!
Many Muslims, no doubt, disapprove of the persecution of non-Muslims. But in most Muslim-majority countries, any Muslim openly opposing the Islamists risks being branded an apostate. And under the Islamist interpretation of Sharia, Islamic law, apostates deserve death.
Not so long ago, the Broader Middle East was a diverse region. Lebanon had a Christian majority for centuries but that ended around 1990 — the result of years of civil war among the country’s religious and ethnic communities. The Christian population of Turkey has diminished substantially in recent years. Islamists have driven Christians out of Bethlehem and other parts of the West Bank; almost all Christians have fled Gaza since Hamas’ takeover.
There were Jewish communities throughout the Middle East for millennia. The Jews of Iran trace their history back 2,700 years but about eight out of 10 Iranian Jews have emigrated since the 1979 Islamist Revolution; only about 40,000 remain.
The Jews of what is now Saudi Arabia were wiped out shortly after Mohammad and his followers established a new religion and began to build a new empire in the 7th century A.D. But Jewish communities survived elsewhere until after World War II when Jews were forced to abandon their homes in Iraq, Libya, Egypt, Syria, Yemen and other countries. In many cases they were driven out by Muslims furious over the establishment of the modern state of Israel. But how odd is it to protest the creation of a safe haven and homeland for Jews by making your own Jewish citizens homeless and stateless?
In 1947, Pakistan also was founded as a safe haven — for Indian Muslims. The country’s founding father, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, was determined that Pakistan would be tolerant of Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Parsees and others — as much as 20 percent of the population at independence. It hasn’t worked out that way and, as a result, non-Muslim minorities today constitute only about 3 percent of Pakistan’s population.
When the dots are connected, the picture that emerges is not pretty: An “Islamic world” in which terrorists are regarded often with lenience, sometimes with respect and occasionally with reverence, while minority groups face increasing intolerance, persecution and “cleansing,” where even their histories are erased. And we in the West are too polite, too “politically correct,” and perhaps too cowardly to say much about it.

Pakistan: Muslim Parties Object to Ban on Sexual Harassment of Women...

Islamabad, Jan.21 (ANI): The Pakistan National Assembly has passed a bill to amend the existing law against sexual harassment of women at workplace.
The new amendment bill, which was moved in the Lower House by Law Minister Babar Awan, seeks to insert a new offence in the Pakistan Penal Code to provide for punishment over sexual harassment at workplaces.

The amendment, which has now been sent to the Upper House for approval, also seeks to make the offence punishable with imprisonment extending upto three years or a fine of up to 500,000 rupees, or both.

The amendment was supported by all political parties in the house apart from religious parties, The Daily Times reported.

JUI Senators Mohammad Khan Shirani, Ghafoor Haideri, Gul Naseeb Khan along with members of the Jamaat-e Islam (JI) objected to the bill, saying that it was a violation of the fundamental norms of Islam and the constitution.

They said that such a law would promote “vulgarity among women”, and proposed sending the bill to the Council of Islamic Ideology for further review. (ANI)

Saudi Arabia: 80-year-old man marries 11-year-old girl

"There is no law that prohibits the marriage of a girl under 18," says the randy old goat, and he's right. After all, Muhammad did it:

"The Prophet wrote the (marriage contract) with 'Aisha while she was six years old and consummated his marriage with her while she was nine years old and she remained with him for nine years (i.e. till his death)." -- Bukhari 7.62.88

DUBAI (Al Arabiya) News of a Saudi octogenarian marrying an eleven-year-old girl has outraged human rights activists amid calls on the government to regulate the marriage of underage girls, local media reported Saturday.
The Saudi National Human Rights Commission formed a committee to investigate the marriage, which activists consider a flagrant violation of human and children rights, the Saudi newspaper al-Riyadh said.

The marriage registrar, who was widely criticized since he agreed to seal the marriage contract knowing the girl's age, absolved himself of any blame.

"There is no law that prohibits the marriage of a girl under 18," he told the paper. "Plus, I summoned the girl and she declared her consent and signed the contract."...

The father, who took 85,000 riyals (more than $22,000) in dowry, defended his decision to marry off his 11-year-old daughter even though his wife vehemently objected.

"I don't care about her age," he told the paper. "Her health and her body build make her fit for marriage. I also don't care what her mother thinks."

Of course not. Why should he?

The father added that marriage at such an early age has been a custom in the Saudi society for a very long time and that he saw no reason why it should be a problem now.
"This is a very old custom and there is nothing wrong with it whether religiously or socially."...

As for the bride, she just called for help as she burst into tears.

"Save me. I don't want him," she cried.

Indian workers sold like cattle in Saudi Arabia

``Indian labour is sold in Saudi like cattle and thousands of Indians from UP and Bengal are suffering there. They are helpless without their passports,'' said Habib. ``My agent (Imran) got an assignment to provide 50 labourers from India. We were recruited and sent in groups of five, 10 and 20. After landing, I was made to work in Jeddah for a month. I grazed goats during the day and worked as a cleaner at the airport in the evenings. I worked for 14-18 hours a day. Thereafter, I was sold to a `khafil' or agent in Medina who required 500 people. In Medina, I worked for over 15 hours daily. I wept and wondered how my family was doing back home,'' he said.

``My father passed away two years back and my mother is ill and needs medication. I just want to get back home. I hope my case will be seen with empathy. Who will feed my children if I am put behind bars?'' he asked.

Moderation and Extremism in Islam

Submitting to Islam is like contracting a virus; some people go through the full blown disease while others, called carriers, harbour the virus without showing any signs of the illness.

"Moderation and Extremism exist in all religious convictions and beliefs including Islam with all its sects. The extent of Islamic extremism varies from time to time and from one place to another. Until a few decades ago the Arabs were largely moderate Muslims, but this picture has changed dramatically in the last ten or fifteen years as extremism started to rule. This change is the fruit of the political shift of power that took place in the Middle East in the 1970s which brought Saudi Arabia, with its oil wealth and wahhabi commitment, to the leadership of the Arab world instead of Egypt ⁽¹⁾.

The pattern of spread of Islamic extremism has been that it affects mainly the younger generation. However, the older generation has not been spared, and it is striking that even secular Arabs sometimes move towards Islamic extremism, after spending decades of their lives as non-practicing Muslims. It is noteworthy that this shift between moderation and extremism is a one-way traffic; moderates can become extremists but extremists do not become moderates. This observation becomes even more significant when we remember that extremists may occasionally leave Islam altogether, but they never move back to moderation. From these observations we may conclude that moderation in Islam is only a temporary phase towards extremism, which is the ultimate stage of true Islam, the Islam preached, practiced and enforced by Mohammed.

Some people who submit to Islam become fully practicing Muslims, the west calls them extremists, while others may go for years without practicing any of its rituals although they still believe that Islam is divine. Just like the virus carriers, this group of believers live normal modern lives and look civilized. In the Islamic circles, they are called ‘Muslims by name’ because they are not keen on the Islamic rituals and hardly ever read the Quran or other Islamic books. Indeed their knowledge about Islam is very shallow, which explains why they are moderates. We may surmise that a moderate Muslim is really an ignorant Muslim, who knows little about Islam. In this sense, there is little difference between a moderate Muslim and a non-Muslim, which is why the true Muslims, termed ‘extremists’ in the western society, often target these moderate Muslims for annihilation. "

Gay Pakistani Granted Asylum, Was Told He 'Insulted Islam'...

“My family and relatives were my enemy. They said I was insulting my family, Islam and my country and threatened that they would report me to police.”

A South Korean court said on Sunday it had ruled in favour of a gay Pakistani man who sought refugee status on the basis that he faced persecution back home, Yonhap news agency reported.
The Seoul Administrative Court said it had overturned a decision by the justice ministry to deny refugee status to the man, whose name and age were withheld.

The court cited a “high likelihood that the plaintiff will be subject to persecution” if repatriated to Pakistan, where homosexuality can be punished.

The man applied for refugee status citing his sexual orientation early last year, having arrived in South Korea in 1996.

“My life, as a homosexual, was in danger in my country,” Yonhap quoted him as saying.

“My family and relatives were my enemy. They said I was insulting my family, Islam and my country and threatened that they would report me to police.”

And Muslim women got due equality and rights alongside men despite the fact that (a) Muslim women have no individuality and independence for themselves as Allah has placed them under the charge of men, who may beat them or deal with as the wish, not vice versa [Quran 4:34]; (b) women are worth only half the men [Quran 2:282]; (c) women can inherit only half that of men (i.e. brothers inherit double that of sisters) [Quran 4:11,4:176]; (d) women are same as slaves and camel, according to an authentic sacred tradition of the prophet [Dawud 11:2155]; and many other such gross discriminations and injustices.

While these references from Islam’s sacred texts make it clear that Muslim women, far from being equal, are an inferior being to men, the grossest of indignity that Allah has reserved for them is His allowing Muslim men only to marry up to four women at a time [Quran 4:3, 70:29-33, 4:24], meaning that a woman is worth only one quarter that of a man.

And that’s not enough, Allah the barbarian par excellence even allowed men, on top of taking four wives, to keep unlimited number of sex-slaves, who can be procured, according to Allah’s sanction [Quran 33:50], by attacking non-Muslim communities and wholesale enslavement of their women. Notably, Prophet Muhammad himself, when became powerful, had captured women of the tribes of Quraiza, Khaybar, Mustaliq and Hawazin etc. after attacking those communities and slaughtering their men.

While it would sounding utterly idiotic to seek to find equality between men and women or high dignity to women sanctioned in Islam, it is easy to say that Allah, the man-god, the alter-ego of Muhammad, has rewarded Muslim men richly at the expense of women. For fourteen centuries, Muslim women have suffered under the degrading status and treatment at the hands of men as per sanctions of the Islamic God.

But no unjust system, whether sanctioned by a purported God or dictatorial men, can last for ever; the oppressed and wider humanity will rise up and challenge it one day. Many religions have reformed their unjust institutions and doctrines to survive in the modern civilized world, while the tyranny of Hitler or Stalin has been put to rest.

Although Allah’s injustice upon women has lasted fourteen centuries, the oppressed Muslim women have started challenging the unjust status quo of Islam.

As of latest, a Saudi female journalist, Nadin al-Badir, has added voice to well-known courageous critics, namely Taslima Nasrin, Ayan Hirsi Ali, Wafa Sultan and Nonie Darwish et al., against the injustices of Islam.

And al-Badir’s challenge is quite unique, unheard of, coming from a Muslim woman: She has taken on the highly trumped-up Muslim claim, that only Islam gives due rights and equality to women, in an article, published in the Egyptian Al-Masri al-Yaum newspaper, by demanding that Muslim women, like men, be allowed to take multiple husbands. Well, indeed, that would reflect true equality between men and women in Islam.

And why not! Muslims claim that polygamy is allowed to men only, because they only have the ability to support multiple partners financially. But today, many well-educated Muslim women are becoming confident and pursuing rewarding careers, thus, gaining ability to support multiple sex-partners through legitimate income, unlike Muhammad’s and his companion’s barbarous means of earning livelihood through decoity, raids and wars."

75-Year-Old Woman to Receive 40 Lashes for Mingling with Men...

"The minister of the interior (Prince Nayef bin Abdul Aziz) is reported to have ordered the immediate detention and flogging of a 75-year-old woman, Khamisa Mohammed Sawadi, along with two Saudi Arabian men known only as Fahad and Hadyan," the London-based watchdog said.

"The Saudi Arabian authorities must not carry out the imminent flogging and imprisonment of an elderly woman and two younger men."

Amnesty said all avenues of appeal had been exhausted in Saudi courts against the trio's March conviction for being in the company of members of the opposite sex who were not close relatives.

"It is abhorrent that an elderly woman is at risk of 40 lashes," said the deputy director of the watchdog's Middle East and North Africa Program, Philip Luther.

"We urge the authorities to prevent the imprisonment and flogging of Khamisa, Fahad and Hadyan."

The Yemeni Koran - all Korans are not the same

One of the oldest surviving copies of the Qur'an refutes the belief that it is immutable.
"The textual variants in the Yemeni Koran, simply by showing that the text is not always and everywhere the same, explode the mainstream Islamic belief that the Koran was delivered in perfect form to Muhammad through the angel Gabriel, and has always been miraculously preserved from variant readings."

In 1972, during the restoration of the Great Mosque of Sana’a, in Yemen, a gravesite containing a mash of old parchment pages was discovered. It became clear that this parchment hoard is an example of what is sometimes referred to as a “paper grave.” In this case, the site was the resting place for tens of thousands of fragments from close to a thousand different parchment codices of the Koran, the Muslim holy book.

Using a technique called “carbon dating,” some of the parchment pages in the Yemeni hoard were dated back to the seventh and eighth centuries, or Islam’s first two centuries. Until now, three ancient copies of the Koran were said to exist. One copy in the Library of Tashkent in Uzbekistan, and another in the Topkapi Museum in Istanbul, Turkey, date from the eighth century. A copy kept in the British Library in London dates from the late seventh century. But the Sana’a parchment pages are even older. Moreover, these pages are written in a script that originates from the Hijaz—the region of Arabia where the prophet Muhammad purportedly lived. This makes the Yemeni Korans not only the oldest to have survived, but one of the earliest copies of the Koran ever.

In 1981, the first scientific undertaking to study the Yemeni Koran was initiated by a group headed by Gerd-R. Puin, a specialist in Arabic calligraphy and Koranic paleography based at Saarland University, in Saarbrücken, Germany. Puin and his group recognized the antiquity of some of the parchment fragments. Their preliminary inspection revealed unconventional verse orderings, minor textual variations, and rare styles of orthography and artistic embellishment. Interestingly, some of the sheets were also palimpsests—versions very clearly written over even earlier, washed-off or erased versions.

To quote Puin: “So many Muslims have this belief that everything between the two covers of the Koran is just God’s unaltered word… They like to quote the textual work that shows that the Bible has a history and did not fall straight out of the sky, but until now the Koran has been out of this discussion. The only way to break through this wall is to prove that the Koran has a history too. The Sana’a fragments will help us to do this.”

The idea that the Koran is the literal Word of God, perfect, timeless, and permanent, is crucial to Islam, in particular, to the Islamists at the forefront of spreading sharia and jihad. However, some of the Sana’a fragments revealed small but intriguing aberrations from the standard Koranic text. Indeed, this evidence compels one to conclude that the Muslim holy book has undergone a textual evolution rather than simply the Word of God as revealed in its entirety to the Prophet Muhammad in the seventh century.

This explosive ramification has made the State of Yemen reluctant to give further access to the Sana’a fragments. Fortunately, before the door was shut to Western scholars, another German academic, Graf von Bothmer, made 35,000 microfilm pictures of the fragments, which remain at the University of the Saarland.

"Female Circumcision" & “false scholars”

DR first reported Female Genital Mutilation on the rise in the Maldives in April 2007. Since then DR has continued to bring the horrors of Female Genital Mutilation and some types of responses are worth mentioning.

People who have more Islam in them are more cruel and indifferent to the suffering of women. They use their brains less and follow the teachings of Mohammad without questioning. This kind of people are like zombies and will beat their wife, "circumcise" their daughter etc just because some book or somebody tells them.

What Allah says is right is right. What Allah says is wrong is wrong. As a Muslim it is as simple as that. - Ibn Kattab

Some people do realize that Female Genital Mutilation is a cruel thing. And they do not want it to be part of their religion. The immediate rebuttal that Female Genital Mutilation has nothing to do with Islam is standard policy and procedure of the moderate Muslims and you can expect to run into a barrage of those.
Whenever the genital mutilation holocaust is raised, the first chorus that comes from the Muslim community is that this genocide is not rooted in Islam and predates Islam.

The noteworthy thing about the above is that none of the people above are Islamic Scholars and none will tell you where in Islam "female circumcision" is not allowed.

However, the Islamic Scholars themselves will tell you that it was the Prophet himself (peace and blessings be upon him) who brought Female Genital Mutilation into Islam.

The Eminent Muslim scholar, Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi quoting Mohamed, Prophet of Allah at Islam Online -

"Reduce the size of the clitoris but do not exceed the limit, for that is better for her health and is preferred by husbands".

The hadith indicates that circumcision is better for a woman's health and it enhances her conjugal relation with her husband.

It’s noteworthy that the Prophet's saying "do not exceed the limit" means do not totally remove the clitoris.

Egyptian Al-Azhar University scholar Sheikh Muhammad Al-Mussayar –

"First of all, there are reliable hadiths in Al-Bukhari and Al-Muslim which support female circumcision. The Prophet Muhammad said: 'If a circumcised woman and man have intercourse, they must undergo ablution.' Unreliable hadiths do not cancel out the reliable ones. We have unreliable hadiths regarding prayer, fasting, charity, and pilgrimage. Should we abolish prayer and charity just because some hadiths are unreliable? According to some hadiths in Al-Bukhari and Al-Muslim, 'If a circumcised woman and man have intercourse, they must undergo ablution.' People would curse one another by saying: 'You son of a clit woman' - the son of a non-circumcised woman. The objections to circumcision are illogical and unnatural."

There is no denying that many atrocities, especially those against women and children are being perpetrated under the tutelage of Islamic scholars as Islamic religious duties.

The religious scholars going around to midwives giving fatwas that girls have to be circumcised did not imagine it out of thin air.

They learned it in the best Islamic institutions in the world!

Muslims and Muhammad: The Impossible Task

Defending Muhammad as a prophet of God is nearly impossible without throwing out the very history that Muslims have taken as fact for 1400 years.

I've reached the conclusion that Muslims face an impossible task. Simply put, their entire faith rests upon defending a man - Muhammad - who is indefensible.

Wafa Sultan expressed it best when she said, "It is impossible that a man who did the things Muhammad did could be a prophet of God."

It is impossible that a man in his mid-50's could engage in sexual intercourse with a nine-year-old child, possibly damaging her physically so that she never became pregnant, and be a prophet of God.

It is impossible that a man could finance his religious and political community by robbing the trade caravans that passed through his area on their annual trips between Arabia and Syria, and be a prophet of God.

It is impossible that a man could encourage his own son to divorce his wife so that he, the father, could marry her, and be a prophet of God.

It is impossible that a man could lie to his wife to get her out of the house so that he could sleep with the slave girl he had given her as a gift, and be a prophet of God.

It is impossible that a man could call other men to follow him, and then watch them die one after the other in the battles he instigated to build his empire while giving them promises of the sensual Paradise that awaited them, and be a prophet of God.

It is impossible that a man could behead 800 Jewish men who had lived in his city for centuries for the simple reason they refused to accept him as their leader, and be a prophet of God.

It is impossible that a man could trade the Jewish wives and daughters of the men he had just beheaded for weapons and horses, and be a prophet of God.

It is impossible that a man could be so fearful of criticism that he would send a man at night to kill the mother of a nursing child because of the poems she had written against him, and be a prophet of God.

It is impossible that a man could sentence a woman to death by having her limbs attached to camels that moved in opposite direction pulling her apart, then behead her and parade her severed head throuth Medina, and be a prophet of God.

It is impossible that a man could torture a young Jewish tribal leader to death to obtain his money, and then "marry" his 17-year old widow the same night, and be a prophet of God.

It is impossible that a man could allow his followers to have sex with their female slaves as well as their prisoners of war, whether or not they were married, and be a prophet of God.

For the past several months on Al-Hayat TV, Father Zakariya Boutros has been discussing the dozens of stories Muhammad "stole" from the Old and New Testaments, as well as from the Midrash and other ancient Jewish documents, and inserted into the Qur'an as revelations from Allah. Zakariya makes a clear distinction between "plagarism", which is the Arabic word "iqtibas", and "theft". He points out that Muhammad did not merely copy and paste stories from these documents into the Qur'an, but essentially changed their meanings in the Qur'an to indicate that he, Muhammad, was not merely similar to but essentially superior than the individuals such as Adam, Moses, and Abraham whose stories he stole.

For the first part of his 90-minute program Zakariya presents his evidence, and then opens the lines for people to call in. His live programs do not contain the 10-second delay to block out explicit language found in American programs such as the Larry King Show, which means the listener gets to hear exactly what the caller says. Egyptian and Maldivian men are united to fight women's "tyranny"

The organization to fight women's "tyranny" in Maldives historically started with the bloody and forced introduction of Islam into Maldives. Since then these "Islamic authorities" have during various regimes and rulers combated women's "tyranny" with varying success .

The Global War against women's "tyranny" is taught and led from the Holy cities of Mecca and Medina by the Keepers of the Holy Places & Legacy of Mohammad. But soldiers and supporters are all over the world now.

Some of today's Maldivian leaders in the war against womens "tyranny".

In Maldives the war has been waged by those educated in Arab and Muslim places and by their brainwashed collaborateurs in Maldives.

While the Sheiks of Adhaalath and other " Islamic Scholars"and the bearded, Pakistani trouser and bolu-foshaa wearing pious, devout Quran reading Allah-fearing, circumcised Maldivian Muslim men who are only trying to live as Mohammed and his Companions did in Arabia, are the visible spearhead of the Maldivian movement today, this is with the complicit consent and backing of the rest of the Maldivian Muslims who when confronted will say they are "moderate Muslims".

Unlike some Muslim communities that are crumbling in the face of women's "tyranny", Maldivians today are largely successful experts say because the genitalia of Maldivian men have been loaded with Allah and primed with the teachings of Mohammed about women.

It has been simple in the sense that a communal commitment has made it possible to release, free, urge and coerce the male to spray his seed into the community and all of mankind if and when ever possible according to the rules of Allah in imitation of their Prophet who - "Muhammad possessed sexual power of 30 men" (Bukhari).

Meanwhile some like the Egyptians who used to be our teachers in the fight against womens " tyranny" appear to have a little trouble because of the modern world encroaching on their Allah given rights but are uniting (loaded with cheap reverse-engineered Viagra...) to fight it with modern PR.

Maldivian mullahs trained in Egypt to fight women's tyranny with imported Egyptian teachers. These imported Arab teachers come to Maldives every year to make sure the bonfire against women's "tyranny" is burning well.

Organization denounces the equalization of men and women

Egyptian men unite to fight women's "tyranny"

A group of Egyptian men have established an organization to fight for men's rights and protect them from the "tyranny" of women as the country's women take advantage of a law allowing them to divorce their husbands with no questions asked.

Men who have been unjustly left by their wives want to protect themselves and others like them from women who suddenly decide to get rid of them, Abdul-Rahman Hamed, the founder of the organization, the first of its kind, and one of its most active members, told Al Arabiya.

Hamed is talking about khol'a, or the law of unconditional divorce, which was passed in 2000 and grants women the right to get a divorce if she gives up her financial rights.

Prior to khol'a, it was extremely difficult for a woman to be granted a divorce and she had to present strong evidence supporting her wish for separation such as physical abuse or adultery.

Hindu Temples Violently Attacked by Devout Quran reading Muslims...

As Dhivehi Muslims boost their hunt for Christians, their Bangaalhee brethren are busy with Hindus..

"The Moderate Maldivian Muslim" will of course be there to teach that Islam is a religion of peace and there is no call for violence in Islam after some Christians have been attacked!

Bangladesh Minority Watch (BDMW) Dhaka received an appeal from the Hindu victims/devotees requesting us to take initiative to protect their rights of religion and also for legal assistance in the court.

Peaceful Hindus last year on 23.11.2008 went to cremate Hindu dead bodies at their cremation ground situated at Mukunda Patty Baneswardee Area at Nagarkanda Upazila of Faridpur District. But they had been intercepted by some Muslim perpetrators. As a result Hindus lodged general diary entry number 875 dated 23.11.2008 at Nagarkanda police station apprehending danger in future.

But again on 26.01.2009 at about 9.30 a.m. the perpetrators namely:-

1) Sheikh Serajul (60) son of late Sheikh Abdus Sattar, 2) Showkat Sheikh (40) , 3) Yead Ali Sheik (35) sons of both Sheikh Serajul, 4) Asad Sheikh (18) son of Showkat Sheikh, 5) Sahadat Sheikh (45), 6) Wadud Sheikh (40), 7) Sarwar Sheikh (35), all of late Sattar Sheikh and *8) Mintu Mollah (40) son of late Amjad Mollah and more 15 to 20 persons of the same locality armed with country-made weapons attacked Hindu temple and their cremation ground.

The perpetrators also with intent to destroy the temple and cremation ground set fire on the Kali temple and destroyed the deity- Ma Kali. As a result of burning the deity Ma Kali burnt into ashes substantially. The cost of temple burnt with other belongings would be around Taka 50,000/-. When the fire broke spread out in the locality the Hindu communities came forward for protection of their temple and deities, but in the meantime their temple and deities burnt to ashes and the perpetrators escaped.

Devotees -Monoranjan Biswas, Sawpan Kumar Mondal, Nani Gopal Biswas, Jagadish Mondal instantly informed the matter to local Chairman Khaondakar Ohidul Bari Alam who visited the spot and he tried to console Hindus.

Monoranjan Biswas being complainant of the case lodged F.I.R. at Nagarkanda police station on 27.01.2009 against those perpetrators under section 295/297/436 of Bangladesh penal code which was registered as case No. 20 dated 27.1.09.

Perpetrators surrendered before the court of Sessions Judge, Faridpur and the court granted them ad interim bail on 10.08.2009.

It is also alleged that after getting bail from the court the perpetrators again intimidating the Hindus to withdraw the case.

The matter has been reported in different news papers of Bangladesh.

The Dark Side Of Islam

"It wasn’t until working on the final research paper that I began to develop a conviction that Islam was a harmful ideology. I set out to discover if militant jihad was a part of Islamic doctrine. I determined to base my findings on Islamic scripture, not on the acts of terrorists. I discovered that “jihad” could correctly be interpreted as “a personal struggle” in certain places in Islamic scripture; however, “warfare” was much more often the intended meaning of the term.

In contrast to Biblical commands to conquer, which were isolated to a specific region in Israel’s history, Koranic commands to engage in warfare are universal and are to continue until Islam is the only religion. Examples include: “Make war on them until idolatry does not exist any longer and Allah’s religion reigns universally” (8:39). “Kill the unbelievers wherever ye find them, capture and besiege them and prepare for them every kind of ambush” (9:5). “Fight against them! Allah shall punish them, at your hands and give you victory over them...” (9:14). “Wage war on the people of the Book, who ... do not accept the religion of Islam” (9:29). “Fight the unbelievers in your surroundings, and let them find harshness in you” (9:123). “Those who follow Muhammad are merciless for the unbelievers but kind to each other” (48:29). “Truly Allah loves those who fight in His cause in battle array… ” (61:4)."

Islamic Sexual Slavery and Concubinage in Maldives?

Do the teaching of Islam have anything to do with under-aged female sex slaves in Maldives?

Horrible practices and institutions, such sexual slavery and concubinage, are spelled out loud and clear in the Quran and hadiths.

It’s quite surprising what you find blatantly expressed in the Islamic texts that few Muslims actually give a thought about.

I am guilty of that myself.

As a child I had always recited verses that mentioned ‘right hand possessions’, but it was only a few years ago that I wondered what that meant. Looking through the related hadiths and tafseers (exegeses), I was shocked to learn that it referred to sexual slaves. It seems that widows and children of non-Muslim men, who were killed in battles waged by Muslims during the Islamic prophet, Muhammad’s time, were taken in as sexual slaves. (More than 70 battles were waged. All but one were offensive.)

In denial the way a child would deny his father is a rapist, I counselled fellow religious friends from the Muslims Student Association about the issue (I later realized that the MSA is an Islamic supremacist group with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and Saudi Arabia). I asked them innocently what the term ‘right hand possessions’ means in the Quran. The ‘brothers’ confirmed what I wished not to hear. And, with absolutely no shame about it and a grin on their faces, they told me it’s a matter that should never be brought up in front of kafirs (infidels).

This concept of concealing your faith to protect or propagate Islam is called taqiyyah. Muslims in Europe are not as concerned about that anymore and are more brazen about what they want to do to European women.

This really should have been no surprise to me, though, given the fact that the Islamic prophet himself had sex slaves, or forced widows to marry him:

Rayhana bint Zaid bin Amru was 15 and Muhammad was 56 years old when he attached the Jewish tribe of Banu Qariiza. He took her as a sex slave after she refused to convert to Islam to be his wife.
Juwayriya bint al-Harith was 20 and Muhammad was 58 years old when the Muslims attacked her Jewish tribe, the Banu Mustaliq. She was taken as a sex slave for one of the Muslims. She begged Muhammad to free her, and he allowed that on the condition she marry him.
Safiyyah bint Huyayy was 17 and Muhammad was 60 years old when he attacked the Jews of Khaybar and tortured her husband to death. On their first night, she was a right hand possession, and was lately swiftly made to marry him (as if the mock marriage makes it all morally justifiable...)
Maria the Copt was a Christian slave Muhammad received as a gift from a ruler in Egypt.

At the end of this article is a comprehensive list of verses and supporting hadiths that indicate clearly that not only were concubines permitted and encouraged, but that the rapists (no euphemism here) were discouraged by Muhammad from performing coitus interruptus. Yes, they actually had to keep their penises inside while ejaculating, thus potentially adding a permanent memory of the rape.

The list is comprehensive, but I am no genius here. Not long ago, I happened to run into an interesting series of Arabic YouTube videos on the matter (Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3).

The videos show an interview an Iqra channel hostess had with two Islamic scholars. She is asking them how Muslims can respond to accusations that Islam permits concubinage. The scholars’ reactions are rather telling, with one sheikh engaging in mental gymnastics and beating around the bush, and the other scowling at her, scolding her, and even walking off the show for a while in order to avoid answering.

This interview is not run by a bunch of Islam bashers or haters or Jews, or whatever fake demons a Muslim has in his or her mind. It's run by a religious presenter with two sheikh guests, on a Saudi channel. Their reaction reminds me of how the following Quranic verses (5:101-2):

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَسْأَلُوا عَنْ أَشْيَاءَ إِنْ تُبْدَ لَكُمْ تَسُؤْكُمْ وَإِنْ تَسْأَلُوا عَنْهَا حِينَ يُنَزَّلُ الْقُرْآنُ تُبْدَ لَكُمْ عَفَا اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ۗ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ
قَدْ سَأَلَهَا قَوْمٌ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ ثُمَّ أَصْبَحُوا بِهَا كَافِرِينَ

O you who believe! do not put questions about things which if declared to you may trouble you, and if you question about them when the Quran is being revealed, they shall be declared to you; Allah pardons this, and Allah is Forgiving, Forbearing.

A people before you indeed asked such questions, and then became disbelievers on account of them.
The hostess, Basma Wahba, eventually removed her hijab. People can only tolerate stupidity to a certain level, and to Basma Wahba, she saw the stupidity she lived in under the hijab after her revealing experience with those scholars.

The Muslims' Sense of Moral Superiority Is Unfounded

What this Saudi liberal has to say may not be a secret to some of us. And it provides a glimpse into the thought process of most Divehi Muslims.

"We Falsely Accuse the Westerners... of Being Liars, Forgers, and Criminals"
"...We Arabs and Muslims see the Jews and Christians as people who do not acknowledge or fear Allah, and are not ashamed before Him. We also falsely accuse the Westerners, the Christians, and the Jews of being liars, forgers, criminals, and money lenders who charge usurious interest rates.
"But when we look reality in the face and follow the developments [in the world], when we examine the facts as they are and investigate the Muslim and Arab reality in which we live - including all the exaggerations, [empty] statements, faults, flaws and problems - we discover that, though we are called Muslims, we do not truly embody the qualities, values and principles of Islam...
"We claim that the Westerners love money and material things, while we Muslims are better than they are: we are ascetic, pious and charitable. As an example, we present one of the Prophet's companions, 'Abd Al-Rahman bin 'Awf, who was known to possess great wealth but donated half of it to the cause of jihad for the sake of Allah. We Muslims take great pride in his example.
"But today there is a Westerner named Bill Gates, owner of the world's richest and most powerful computer company, who gave away all his wealth, leaving only $3 billion for himself. [The rest] he donated to the poor and the needy, and to social organizations. Now, in the Arab and Muslim world there are hundreds of wealthy people like him, who appear on the list of the world's billionaires. But we never heard of them performing a humanitarian act like that of Bill Gates. Where are these wealthy Muslims [when it comes to performing] human, Islamic and civilized acts of this kind?
"The Arabs accuse the West of loving the [pleasures] of this world and of pursuing power, but that is not true. It is we Arabs who love and sanctify power. It is we who invented the concept of hereditary rule. Mu'awiyah Ibn Abi Sufyan, the first Caliph of the Ummayad Dynasty, was the first who created and shaped [this concept]. This Arab greed [for power] is insatiable and is the cause of internal conflicts, wars and problems.
"Let me point out incidentally that [in 1945,] the British people did not [reelect] their famous leader [Winston Churchill], who was prime minister during World War II, even though he had brought them victory [in that war]."

The Arab and Muslim Judiciary System [That] Regards Itself as the Purest, Noblest and Best in the World - [Is] Nothing But Deception and Fraud, and Is Controlled by the Regimes and Their Associates"

"The Arab and Muslim judiciary system regards itself as the purest, noblest and best in the world. But in reality it is just the opposite. [This system] is nothing but deception and fraud, and it is controlled by the regimes and their associates.
"The Western judiciary system is better. A Paris court [recently] rejected a lawsuit by French President [Nicolas] Sarkozy, and [the latter], despite his authority and clout as president, was not able to force the court to rule in his favor and according to his will.
"The Prophet Muhammad said, 'By Allah, if [my own daughter] Fatima bint Muhammad had stolen, I would have cut off her hand.' This is the nature of a just and equal society according to Islam, and these are the values and principles of Muslim rule."

The Jews... Are Better Than We Arabs and Muslims" in Implementing Justice And Equality
"But the Muslim nation does not implement these values and principles of justice and equality between the rulers and the ruled. [In today's Muslim world,] the ruler does whatever he pleases, however he pleases, and whenever he pleases.

Marcel Efroimski, a 13-year-old Israeli chess prodigy, yesterday became the Girls' Under-14 World Chess Champion when she won the Gold Medal for her age group at the World Youth Chess Championships held in Turkey. This in itself is not of any interest to Jihad Watch (And Dhivehistan Report) -- except that during the awards ceremony, the malignant (if not turban'd) and increasingly Islamic supremacist Turkish authorities refused to play the Israeli National Anthem, as is required at such ceremonies. However, young Marcel would not play the dhimmi. She stood on the podium and raised her trophy with an expression of defiance -- as you can see from the photo, in which she stands in front of an image of the malignant and unturban'd Ataturk.

Kudos, Marcel. With that, you became more than just a winner. You became a hero.

We typically think of terrorism as a political act.

But sometimes it’s very personal. It wasn’t a government or a guerrilla insurgency that threw acid on this woman’s face in Pakistan. It was a young man whom she had rejected for marriage. As the United States ponders what to do in Afghanistan — and for that matter, in Pakistan — it is wise to understand both the political and the personal, that the very ignorance and illiteracy and misogyny that create the climate for these acid attacks can and does bleed over into the political realm. Nicholas Kristof, the New York Times op-ed columnist who traveled to Pakistan last year to write about acid attacks, put it this way in an essay at the time: “I’ve been investigating such acid attacks, which are commonly used to terrorize and subjugate women and girls in a swath of Asia from Afghanistan through Cambodia (men are almost never attacked with acid). Because women usually don’t matter in this part of the world, their attackers are rarely prosecuted and acid sales are usually not controlled. It’s a kind of terrorism that becomes accepted as part of the background noise in the region. ...

“Bangladesh has imposed controls on acid sales to curb such attacks, but otherwise it is fairly easy in Asia to walk into a shop and buy sulfuric or hydrochloric acid suitable for destroying a human face. Acid attacks and wife burnings are common in parts of Asia because the victims are the most voiceless in these societies: They are poor and female. The first step is simply for the world to take note, to give voice to these women.” Since 1994, a Pakistani activist who founded the Progressive Women’s Association (www.pwaisbd.org) to help such women “has documented 7,800 cases of women who were deliberately burned, scalded or subjected to acid attacks, just in the Islamabad area. In only 2 percent of those cases was anyone convicted.”

In Quran sura al-Baqara 2:230 says,”…So if a husband divorced his wife he cannot after that remarry her until after she has married another husband, and he has divorced her, in that case there is no blame on either of them if they reunite…”

This affected his mating ability and Al-Haidari fed the goat Viagra but it didn’t work. What he thought was more useful was giving him water after a supplication had been read over it. The eight-month-old male goat is less valuable in comparison to his two sisters who are worth SR120,000 to 150,000, said Al-Haidari.

In Islamic totalitarian regimes like Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia etc, mullah (Muslim counterpart of priest) plays the lead satanic role in provoking extremism among the people. Mullah itself has a very interesting origin. Lets begin with a typical Muslim family, there are four sons, for instances, three of them are physical and mentally normal, they will get special attention of their parents, they will get good care and be placed in good educational institutions to become doctors and engineers, etc. They are the cream of the family or in a broader sense the cream of society. The fourth, ironically is mentally retarded and in some cases even, physically abnormal. The heartless family considers such a kid scum; he will face rejection and humiliation from his own parents and siblings, he is worthless and a burden .His parents would put him in: Madrassah (Islamic seminary, which is a hub of terrorism/hatred/violence) to make him a mullah, here this frustrated child would grow, learn and ultimately becomes a mullah, most of them become involved in child molestation. It is true. This is what I have seen in Pakistan. So that “scum” becomes a leading person and starts molding the society according to his own evil intentions. In draconian Islamic states, people blindly follow the mullahs, as Islam itself is about blind conformity and Mullahs are self-proclaimed “mouthpieces of God” just like the cult leader Mohammad. In above mentioned Islamic states, people are highly volatile when it comes to Islam. Being aware of people’s weak points Mullahs then begin using Islam as their powerful tool for his own personal interest. Last year in Karachi, Pakistan, a minor girl of 7, was coerced to marry a Mullah 32 years her senior, when she came to his madrassa to learn the Koran from him. A private TV channel interrogated the Mullah, he told them that she married him by her own consent. Personally, it doesn’t surprise me as it is a well documented fact Mohammad married his child bride when she was 6, and he himself was in his mid 50s. So folks don’t be hard on the Mullah, after all he followed the “sunnah” which means the prescribed way of Mohammad. In my hometown, without exaggeration or being biased, there have been innumerable cases of child molestations and if a child resists, he is beaten black and blue. If his parents or guardians inquires of the Mullah, he will claim that the kid was not paying attention to his teachings or was unable to pay the proper respect to the Koran or he indulged in mischievous behavior How I wish the civilized society would pay attention to this to get rid of the disgusting character which is a slur on the name of humanity.

"There have always been radicals in Islam, because there is always tolerance for them on the part of other Muslims."

November 12, 2009: Major Nidal Malik Hasan's murder of 13 people at Fort Hood on November 5th was the act of an Islamic terrorist. The U.S. government is trying to explain it as just the act of a lone madman, but that's what terrorist attacks often are. Moreover, to try and depict Hasan's act as anything but Islamic terrorism ignores Islamic history. One should also note that Islamic terrorists worldwide are hailing the massacre as an act of Islamic terrorism. Who are you going to believe? Try believing history.
The main recruiter for Islamic terrorism has always been conservative Islamic clerics, especially in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. The Saudi brand of Islam, Wahhabism, has always stressed hatred for infidels (non-Moslems) and forcible conversion of everyone, everywhere, to Islam. Religious hatred is nothing new, but Wahhabism is practiced by many Saudis made rich by half a century of increasing oil wealth. Everyone is urged to join the struggle ("jihad") for making the world Moslem. You can do this as part of a group, or, as Nidal Hasan did, as an individual.
This radicalism comes along every few generations. By the 1980s, many Moslems had become disillusioned with socialism and democracy. All along, Islamic conservatives had been suggesting the “Islamic way.” This meant using Islam as a form of government, as well as a religion. This is how Islam worked back in the beginning. Unfortunately, it didn’t work back then. This failure was explained away (as someone else’s fault, or not doing it right, take your pick). And so began the popularity of radical Islam. When you’re on a mission from God, the ends justify the means. It was a small step from accepting the need for an Islamic form of government, and then getting behind terrorism in the name of God. Besides, Arab armies had not been able to defeat infidel armies for a long, long time. Terrorism and the pure hearts of suicidal Islamic warriors would have to do.
True believers selectively pick out Islamic teachings that favor their goals. Take, for example, the killing of Moslems. This is explained away by believing that any Moslem that does not agree with your radical view, is not a true Moslem and must be killed. Any Moslems who do agree with you, and get killed by your bomb anyway, are simply "involuntary martyrs." Most Moslems do not believe these twisted interpretations of the Koran, but are unwilling to step up and stop the radicals. Nearly all of the 3,500 Moslems in the U.S. military accept that there are evil Moslems out there, and have no qualms about killing them. They see Iraqi and Afghan Moslems doing the same thing.
So where's the problem? It's simply that Islamic radicals have always been a part of Islam. They have been the main reason for the backwardness of Islamic countries. A thousand years ago, it was the Islamic radicals who halted the work of Islamic scientists. This continues, with the current Islamic radicals opposing schools that don't put the main emphasis on religion, or teach girls at all. There are four times more women Nobel laureates from the West than Islamic laureates of any gender. Thus Islamic radicalism is tolerated in the Islamic community, as is Islamic terrorism, at least if it is only directed against kaffirs (non-Moslems).

"Some call it "stupid", others are asking the government to "deal with more serious matters"; Jakarta residents invite their counterparts in Aceh to "dress like astronauts". Women, however, feel discriminated against and promise a battle. A proposed law of the provincial government of Aceh, a "special" territory north of the island of Sumatra in Indonesia, which prohibits women from wearing jeans and shorts for men, has provoked the population’s ire. Anyone caught red-handed will be stripped and forced to wear "special clothing" provided by the authorities.

Devout Quran reading Muslims in tropical Indonesia hope to get these sweating girls and their body odors out of
those tight clothes and into something a little more comfortable.

For the women of Aceh the ban on jeans is an "unusual", discriminating and shocking decision. "It's a very sensitive issue - says Kamala Chandrakirana, head of the Indonesian Commission against violence against women - I think such uncommon matter should be tackled by the country’s president " The activist said the bill- announced to the press in recent days by Ramli MS, chief of the district of West Aceh - is not just "discriminatory", but it violates basic human rights: "Every woman has the right to wear what she wants”.

The norm on clothing is still being considered by the local parliament and, if approved, would come into force since January 2010. Local sources in Aceh stress that the authorities have prepared more than 7 thousand "large" skirts (covering women to their feet) to be used during "instant raid" to force women to change their clothes if they appear in public with clothes considered "too sexy" . Measures will also be imposed on men who circulate in public with "sexy shorts”, or short trousers that show legs and other "shapes". "The Law - adds the source - refers only to the Muslims of Aceh”, one of the provinces of the country where Islam is applied in a strict manner. A few weeks ago, the local government had proposed stoning for adulterers and corporal punishment for those violating the Shariah.

The head of the Aceh district will not comment on the story. The capital, however, sympathizes with the people of Aceh and many say they are "outraged" by the proposed law. Some initially joke about it, advising governors to "make people wear astronaut suits", only to add: "There are far more important issues that need to be dealt with than sexy clothes"."

Somalia: Adulterer stoned to death; pregnant girlfriend faces execution after she gives birth

There came to him (the Holy Prophet) a woman from Ghamid and said: Allah's Messenger, I have committed adultery, so purify me. He (the Holy Prophet) turned her away. On the following day she said: Allah's Messenger, Why do you turn me away? Perhaps, you turn me away as you turned away Ma'iz. By Allah, I have become pregnant. He said: Well, if you insist upon it, then go away until you give birth to (the child). When she was delivered she came with the child (wrapped) in a rag and said: Here is the child whom I have given birth to. He said: Go away and suckle him until you wean him. When she had weaned him, she came to him (the Holy Prophet) with the child who was holding a piece of bread in his hand. She said: Allah's Apostle, here is he as I have weaned him and he eats food. He (the Holy Prophet) entrusted the child to one of the Muslims and then pronounced punishment. And she was put in a ditch up to her chest and he commanded people and they stoned her. - Sahih Muslim 17.4206.

Islamists in southern Somalia have stoned a man to death for adultery but spared his pregnant girlfriend until she gives birth.

Abas Hussein Abdirahman, 33, was killed in front of a crowd of some 300 people in the port town of Merka.

An official from the al-Shabab group said the woman would be killed after she has had her baby.

Islamist groups run much of southern Somalia, while the UN-backed government only control parts of the capital.

This is the third time Islamists have stoned a person to death for adultery in the past year.

Al-Shabab official Sheikh Suldan Aala Mohamed said Mr Abdirahman had confessed to adultery before an Islamic court.

"He was screaming and blood was pouring from his head during the stoning. After seven minutes he stopped moving," an eyewitness told the BBC.

The BBC's Mohammed Olad Hassan in Mogadishu says that if the woman is also killed, her baby would be given to relatives to look after....

A Muslim army psychiatrist burst into a bout of Jihadi fit, shooting at soldiers lined up for signing for deployment in Iraq and Afghanistan, killing 12 and wounding 31. It appears to another perfect case of the familiar "Sudden Jihadi Syndrome" among Muslims...

We have heard too often from Muslim public relations czars in the West that Muslims are peaceful patriotic people. Muslim American citizens would tell you that they are patriotic; they love America; America is their home. President Obama would tell you that America is a Muslim nation, that Muslims have made great contributions to the making of America.

So, when a Jihadi attack occurs or a Jihadi terror plot is busted, the so-called moderate Muslims would go around shrilling that the entire Muslim community should not be maligned for the actions of a few bad apples.

While it is undeniable that most Muslims go about their business on most days like any other peaceful citizen, it also becomes clear that quite often an otherwise-most-peaceful Muslim give in to the teaching and the urge to carry out Jihad, his holy duty to Allah/Muhammad and his faith. This well-established pattern, the ‘Sudden Jihadi Syndrome’, it seems, has struck in America once again.

Major Nidal Malik Hasan, 39, trained as army psychiatrist, had his day on Thursday, Nov. 5. Stricken by a bout of Sudden Jihadi Syndrome, he went on rampage of shooting and massacring his colleagues at the Fort Hood Army Base in Texas, killing 13 and wounding another 30.
While some papers, like Huffington Post, are trying to raise doubts as to whether Major Hasan is a Muslim at all, Hasan’s cousin, told ABC News that he was "a pious lifelong Muslim".

Born in Virginia to Jordanian parents and single with no children, Hasan had worked at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington for 6 years before he was reassigned to Fort Hood July. In 2009, according to ABC News, he completed a fellowship in Disaster and Preventative Psychiatry at the Center for Traumatic Stress there.

One is left to wonder whether Hasan was a marginalized extremist, although some Muslim public relations and media mouthpiece may portray him as one to be so.

It was a perfect moment for Hasan to carry out his pious duty of Jihad, which according to Ghazzali, Muslims should do at least once a year, while Muhammad and his companions did it continuously while in Medina. And the moment was:

Army recruits had lined up to sign up for going to Iraq and Afghanistan; these are infidels readying themselves for defiling the Muslim lands and kill his Muslim brethren; there’s no better way to do Jihad for his faith than taking these infidel murderers down; he took two handguns to work; and as the recruits lined up in columns to sign up, Hasan took his loaded handguns out in his two hands and started shooting into the column to soldiers to take down as many as possible.

The end-result of Jihad effort was astounding: 12 infidel soldiers dead; 30 others wounded. He has outperformed Muhammad’s stellar performance at the famous victory at Badr, where there were 15 Muslim casualties against 49 opponents.

Emerging Dominance of Islam in Malaysia as Tolerance Declines...

As Islam grows in a society, so does the intolerance and hatred. We can see this where ever Muslims live. As more Dhivehi "Islamic Scholars" study abroad and enter the Maldivian Religious Job Market, we see the same idiotic beliefs and attitudes entering our culture.

Malaysia is being taken over by these Islamic attitudes now. The Islamic forces in our country are attempting the same and are the biggest threat now to the progress and prosperity of the Maldivian people.

"Malaysia is a country witnessing the "emerging dominance" of Islam even though it was not always a Muslim-majority country, the chair of a United Nations (UN) body on inter-religious relations said.

Professor Emeritus Gary D Bouma¸ who is Unesco Chair in Inter-religious and Intercultural Relations — Asia Pacific, said that historically speaking, a Muslim majority was not always the "lived reality" in Malaysia.
"Younger Malaysians might know Malaysia as a Muslim-majority country, but someone from two generations ago would have lived a reality in which Muslims were not the majority," he said.

Bouma was speaking to reporters on 29 Oct on the sidelines of the Fifth Regional Interfaith Dialogue, organised by the Australian government in Perth from 28 to 30 Oct 2009, where he was also a keynote speaker.

He said that it was because becoming a Muslim-majority country was a recent phenomenon for the country that Malaysia was now grappling with how to deal with this.

"The state and society in Malaysia are asking what it means to finally be a Muslim majority, and whether to legislate increasingly on matters related to Islam, among other things," Bouma said.

"Even at the moment, 60% (of Malaysians being Muslims) isn't much — [there is the fear] that even that could be [reduced]," he said, adding that although Muslims are now the majority, it was still an insecure majority in terms of numbers.

In Southeast Asia and the Pacific, Bouma's other classifications for country demographics are "one religion dominant" (for example, Catholicism in the Philippines), "no religion dominant" (for example, Singapore), or "waning dominance" (for example, Australia).

He said that on the whole, religious diversity was increasing in the region and that religion was back on the public policy agenda in many states.

"In the late 20th century, many secularist ideologues were predicting that religion was going to die out by the start of the 21st century, but now we see that religion is real and alive in many societies," he said.
Malaysia's violations "noteworthy"

Separately, the US State Department's International Religious Freedom Report 2009 listed Malaysia as a country in which "violations of religious freedom have been noteworthy".

Malaysia was listed alongside countries such as Afghanistan, China, Iran, North Korea, Saudi Arabia and Sudan, during the reporting period of 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2009. In the case of Malaysia, the report cited increasing concession of jurisdiction by civil courts to syariah courts on family law disputes, demolition of Hindu temples, and restrictions on Muslims wanting to convert out of Islam as some of the noteworthy violations."

On TV program cites Muhammad: 'The Muslims will kill the Jews. Be patient'

J"ERUSALEM – Trees, animals and non-Jewish athletes despise Jews, declared an Egyptian cleric on his country's television network.
"People hate (Jews). They don't like them. We are not talking only about people. [The same goes] even for trees and animals," stated Egyptian cleric Amin Al-Ansari on a program two weeks ago that aired on Egypt's Al-Rahma satellite network.
The program was translated from Arabic by the Middle East Media Research Institute.
"You know, there is rather peculiar footage, in which an Arab man who has a camel loves it and kisses it, and the camel
kisses him back. Along comes a Jew and wants to kiss the camel, just like the Arab. What do you think the camel did? Let's watch," Al-Ansari said.
The network then cut to what appeared to be staged footage of a man dressed in Arab garb kissing a camel while another man wearing a white yarmulke attempts to kiss the camel, prompting the animal to try to bite the purported Jew.
"Animals can sense things," explained Al-Ansari.
He continued, "God has filled people's hearts with loathing for these [Jews]. Let's take a look at the field of sports. Let's see how the Jews are hated in the field of sports. They are abhorred. Let's take a look."
The Al-Rahma program cuts to footage of an English league soccer game showing a Chelsea player kicking the Israeli soccer player Yossi Benayoun, who plays for Liverpool.
"Look at this Jew being kicked. People hate them. They don't like them," explained Al-Ansari, laughing.
"The proof is that the Prophet Muhammad said that when Judgment Day draws near, the final war between the Muslims and the Jews will take place. The Prophet said that the Muslims would kill the Jews. 'Judgment Day will not come before the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them,'" declared Al-Ansari.
He added, citing from a hadith, a collection of the sayings of Muhammad: "The Muslims will kill the Jews. Be patient
. All the trees and all the stones will say: 'Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him – except for the Gharqad tree.' Only one kind of tree will not call [the Muslims]. It is the Gharqad tree."

D.M Murdock: Dr. Sultan, thank you for honoring us with this interview. You are a courageous woman for doing what you do. The first question is, have you personally received any threats against you for your work exposing the problems with Islamic law and tradition? Are any of these threats specifically because of your very public apostasy from Islam? How has your life been impacted by these threats?

"I receive death threats on a daily basis."

Wafa Sultan: I receive death threats on a daily basis. I'm a well-known writer in the Arab world. My writings expose me to millions of devout Muslims who have nothing positive to prove but the sheer cruelty of their teachings. Islam has deprived them of their intellectual ability to face criticism with an effective and acceptable way.

Being born and raised as a Muslim has helped me to realize how serious these threats are. While I try to not let the threats interfere with my mission, at the same time I don't ignore them either. Prior to the release of my book A God Who Hates, I was forced to go into hiding. It hasn't been easy, but since I believe in my mission, nothing will deter me from accomplishing my objective.

DM: You were born and raised in a country—Syria—that, although it supposedly has a "secular" government, is largely Muslim. How was life different in Syria than it has been since you became an American citizen? Specifically as a woman, how is your life different from what it would have been, if you had stayed within the Syrian Muslim culture?

WS: The idea of "secular" government is a misconception that needs to be clarified. There is no secular government in the Islamic world. Some governments pretend to be secular for two main reasons: 1. To prove to the West that they are "secular" and in that way to benefit economically from its dealing with the West; and 2. The despotic governments are always threatened by Islamists. That leaves those autocratic regimes with no choice but to hit the Islamists with an iron fist.

The continuous conflict between the two evils doesn't mean that the government is less Islamic. In Syria, as long as Islamists don't bother the government—especially the president and his family—they are free to do whatever they wish. For the last twenty years, the Islamists with the help of Saudi money have played a major role in radicalizing the Syrian public, while the Syrian government has been turning a blind eye.

The situation under Islamic Sharia is bad in every Islamic country, but the level of strictness is different from one country to another—depending on the degree to which these laws are applied and followed. On a scale of one to ten where #1 is the least and #10 is the worst, I would grade Syria #6 compared to Saudi Arabia, which deserves to get a #10.

However, my life in America is not comparable to my life in Syria at any aspect. Since I left my country in 1989, I have been enjoying my life as a free person. Regardless of the threats I receive ,I express myself freely and speak my mind without the fear of being killed by my family and associates.

Do you think that if I lived in Syria I could answer your questions freely the same way I'm doing it now?

DM: When you earned your American citizenship, you learned about the U.S. Constitution. What are some important differences between the American Constitution and Islamic/sharia law, as you understand them?

WS: In essence, I began learning about the U.S. Constitution the first moment I arrived in the United States. I learned about the Constitution not necessarily by reading it but rather by experiencing life as a free woman—freedom that has been granted to me under the full protection of the American Constitution. Since then, I have been enjoying my life as a liberated human being, able mentally and intellectually to make my own choices and by that shape my destiny.

Maldivian Muslims take matters in to their own hands & target Christians

Check out this news story from Egypt and the writing on this Maldives Muslim blog. Maldivian Muslims are being being exhorted and encouraged to hate and fight against Christians. This activity of hate and persecution is going on in many places where Muslims live because it is taught in the Quran and Hadith and by the actions of Mohammed, Prophet of the Sword.

From Egypt (AINA) -- "Egyptian security forces have intensified their presence in the Upper Egyptian town of Dairout, in anticipation of a recurrence of Muslim violence against Christians. Copts expressed their fear over leaflets entitled "These have to Die!" which are being distributed to all Muslims in Dairout and neighborhoods, enticing them to "burn, vandalize and clean the country of these evil immoral infidels."

Reports from Dairout, 313 km south of Cairo, confirm that Christian Copts are afraid to leave their homes and have stayed indoors since violence against them erupted on October 24, 2009. This collective punishment of Copts was caused by an illicit sexual relationship between a Muslim girl, Hagger Hassouna, and the Christian Romany Farouk Attallah. It was rumored that he sent videos of them intimately together to cell phones in Dairout before fleeing. This prompted the Hassouna family to kill his father, Farouk Attallah, on October 19, 2009, in revenge. Four of the Hassouna killers were detained by prosecution, leading to Muslim riots against the Copts (AINA 10-27-2009) .

According to Wagih Yacoub of the Middle East Christian Assosiation (MECA), Muslim-owned businesses are now displaying stickers with 'Allah Akbar' (Allah is Great) to differentiate between them and Coptic-owned businesses, as a form of pre-planning for a forthcoming wave of Muslim violence.

Handwritten leaflets (Arabic) have been circulated among Muslims in Dairout for the last two days; they call on Muslims to unite to take revenge for their religion and honor, claiming that Hagger Hassouna is innocent and that she was forced into vice, and "all Jews and Christians should come to learn that Muslim honor is precious." The fliers state that Muslims are the masters of the world since beginning of times until the present day, and entices them to "burn and vandalize and clean the country of the evil immoral infidels.""
It also calls on Muslims to take revenge for the "rings of prostitution" which are the churches and in particular the church in the village of Ezbet Hanna. Those specifically named to be killed are Reverend Pavlos of the Church of the Virgin Mary, Coptic lawyer Gamal Youssef, two brothers who own an optometry practice, and a Copt who owns a beauty saloon and photography shop.
Muslims are asked to die for their honor and they will be rewarded with eternal paradise. "Do not say it is a matter of just a girl, no, it is a public and a serious issue, it is the biggest issue, it is Islam's issue." A transcript of the the leaflet (in Arabic) is published on Copts United website.

"We need to take matters into our own hands and fight back against the Christian menace."

From Maldives (Ibn Khattab)-- "So how should we deal with Christian evangelicalism? What is needed first and foremost is more education. The average Maldivian has little or know knowledge of Christian history and doctrine, hence making them more susceptible to those who use sweetened words and misrepresentation to promote this religion.

If our youth where educated to these simple facts and others, then there would be less possibility of them ever apostating from Islam and embracing Christianity.

Secondly we need much tougher sentences for those who come here to spread other religions. When the Taliban ruled Afghanistan those who tried to promote any religion other than Islam where sentenced to long terms in prison. This worked as a deterant and so there where not many evangelicals in Afghanistan. This is the example which must be followed if we are really determined to defeat this problem.

World Gender Gap Worst in Islamic Nations...

"The 2009 report by the World Economic Forum has listed predominantly Islamic nations in the bottom of their annual Global Gender Gap (GGG) Index. This included such major nations as Pakistan (ranked 132 out of 134), Saudi Arabia (ranked 130 out of 134), Iran (ranked 128 out of 134), Egypt (ranked 126 out of 134), and Turkey (ranked 129 out 134). Yemen, which is 99 percent Islamic, was the bottom ranked nation as 134 on the Global Gender Gap Index. The only nation not predominantly Islamic in the bottom of the Global Gender Gap index was Benin.

In addition, the 2009 World Economic Forum Global Gender Gap Index report does not include rankings on a number of significant and predominantly Islamic nations where women are oppressed. Somalia (population of nearly 10 million) was not included in the index. Endless numbers of reports of the stonings and Islamic supremacist abuses of women have been reported in Somalia in the past year, including the stoning to death of a 13 year old girl based on “Sharia law” in October 2008. Sudan (population of nearly 41 million) was also not included in the World Economic Forum Global Gender Gap Index. Among other nations, Afghanistan (29 million) and Iraq (29 million) are also not included in this Global Gender Gap Index. With the index not reporting on these 109 million, the desperate fate of an estimated 50 plus million women are not included in this Global Gender Gap index report.

Even with these significant exclusions from the Global Gender Gap index report, the bottom 10 index nations (excluding Benin), which are all predominantly Islamic nations, represent a population of over half a billion individuals. These include Yemen (134 out of 134), Chad (133), Pakistan (132), Saudi Arabia (130), Turkey (129), Iran (128), Mali (127), Egypt (126), Qatar (125), Morocco (124). If women represent half of the population in these nations, then these bottom 10 predominantly Islamic nations demonstrate the ongoing oppression of an estimated 250 million women.

In addition, if some other predominantly Islamic nations in the bottom of the Global Gender Gap index are also added to these totals, the global image of the correlated oppression of women further expands dramatically. (Again, this is without such nations as Somalia, Sudan, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc., which were not included in the GGG index report analysis.)"

Nearly 100 Slain for Allah in Peshawar Blast...

At least 80 people have been killed and dozens wounded by a large blast in a market in Peshawar, Pakistan.
Buildings were set on fire after the blast and plumes of smoke were seen drifting over the city.
More than 200 people have been killed by such attacks in recent weeks as the army carries out an operation against Taliban militants in South Waziristan.

Surviving a Suicide Blast

It isn't just the dead that count when Muslim fanatics 'martyr' themselves to get to the virgins in paradise. Suffering and heartache is the legacy of Muhammad.

Islamabad, Pakistan (CNN) -- His legs and arms are wrapped in bandages. His face, shrouded in a mask of cotton.

Waqar Khalid is one of the latest victims of a war that has now spread to Pakistan's schools. The 24-year-old university student lies in a hospital bed, beneath a small printed sign on the wall that lists his name, age and injury. Sixty percent of his body is covered in burns.

One afternoon last week, Khalid walked out of a classroom straight into the fireball of an exploding suicide bomber.

"I saw a man wearing a sky-blue colored suit. Very close. Maybe the distance [was] two feet ... but I didn't think that it will be a terrorist," Khalid says. "When he pushed the button, right at that time, I saw fire. Very high fire. Very much high fire."

Two suicide bombers were involved in Tuesday's attack on Islamabad's International Islamic University. The first bomber hit the cafeteria on the women's side of the campus, killing a cafeteria worker and four students, and wounding 17 other female students.

Khalid and his classmates heard that blast but assumed it was a car tire bursting.

Moments later, the second bomber self-detonated in the hallway on the second floor of the Sharia law department, directly in front of the department chairman's office.

The blast sprayed the walls and ceiling with ball bearings and left two male students dead.

"I thought now I will go to Allah," Khalid says. "But after five minutes I saw that I'm completely -- all parts of my body is with me."

Though horrifically burned, Khalid somehow survived the inferno and stumbled down the stairs.

Five days after the attack, workers were covering up the blood-stained, pock-marked walls at the Sharia law department with mortar and paint. In a few weeks, the building may look as good as new.

Pakistani Christians Tell of Torture Following Burnings...

Two Christians in Gojra, Pakistan who allegedly fired warning shots as an Islamist mob approached that burned seven Christians to death on Aug. 1 told Compass they were tortured after police arrested them.

Only one of hundreds of Muslim assailants in the fire assault on Gojra’s Christian Town is in jail, but sources said Islamists have provided police a pretense for arresting the two Christian brothers who gave shelter to 300 people. Naveed Masih, 32, alias Fauji (“the Soldier”) and his 25-year-old brother Nauman Masih were arrested on Sept. 2 and Sept. 7 respectively for “rioting with deadly weapons and spreading terror with firing.”

Naveed Masih is said to have fired warning shots from a rooftop into the air and at the feet of the mob of approaching Muslim assailants to try to disperse them, but both brothers deny using any weapons.

From his jail cell, Naveed Masih told Compass that he and his brother were taken to the Police Training Centre in Choong, where they were kept in illegal detention for 18 days and were tortured “in so many ways ruthlessly and in inhumane ways.”

“Sometimes we were not given anything to eat or drink except one time, and sometimes we were hung in a dark well while our faces were covered with a cloth,” Naveed Masih said. “They beat me with cane sticks on the back of my hands and sometimes hung me upside down and then brutally beat me.”

Police kept them hungry for days, he said; when they asked for food, officers told them to confess that they had fired, he added. Naveed Masih said police tortured them to try to force them to say they had links with terrorist organizations that provided arms and ammunition to them.

Naveed Maish said they were forbidden to sleep; they were awoken whenever they dozed off. Throughout the 18 days of torture, he said, the two brothers were kept separate but saw each other when they were taken to court.

“We hugged each other and wept, seeing each other’s wounds,” he said.

Naveed Masih said police tortured them because they had given shelter to more than 300 women, children and elderly people on the day of attack, in which the assailants – acting on an unsubstantiated rumor of “blasphemy” of the Quran and whipped into a frenzy by local imams and banned terrorist groups – also looted more than 100 houses and set fire to 50 of them. At least 19 people were injured in the melee.

In spite of the targeting of the Christian area in Gojra by hundreds of Islamic extremists, police have registered complaints filed by the Muslim assailants against 129 Christians; sources said these various charges were filed only to pressure the Christian community. Thus far police have arrested only Naveed Masih and Nauman Masih – whose cases were submitted in an Anti-Terrorism Court to make it difficult for them to obtain bail, according to their lawyer – but the Centre for Legal Aid, Assistance and Settlement was able to obtain release on bail for Nauman Masih.

Nauman Masih told Compass that of the 17 Muslims named in the First Information Report on the Aug. 1 attack, only one, Abdul Khalid Kashmiri, was in jail. Kashmiri has offered 1 million rupees (US$12,500) if the Christian complainants would withdraw the case, Nauman Masih added.

The rest of the Muslim assailants are still at large, and sources said police have no intention of arresting them. In addition, three checks of 100,000 rupees (US$1,200) each issued by Punjab Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah for compensation to victims have been cancelled, Nauman Masih said, probably because the recipients are among the 129 Christians implicated in the false charges.

Two Sudanese women were on Thursday sentenced to 20 lashes and fined for committing an act of indecency by wearing trousers, weeks after a similar case sparked worldwide controversy.

The two women were arrested at the same party as Lubna Hussein, a former journalist who was also charged with wearing trousers and publicised her case as part of a campaign against Sudan's public order laws, Hussein told Reuters.

Judge Hassan Mohamed Ali sentenced each woman to 20 lashes and a fine of 250 Sudanese pounds in Khartoum East court on Thursday afternoon.

The women's supporters told journalists the punishment, often carried out immediately after a conviction, was postponed after the women launched an appeal.

Hussein, who was at the court on Thursday said the latest sentencing showed her campaign still had a long way to go.

"The campaign has succeeded in showing the world that there are unfair laws against women in Sudan. But we will keep on fighting," she said.

The two women, one aged 25, the other 27, both of them Muslim, would not give their names to journalists.

Lawyers and supporters at the trial also said they would not release the names as the women came from conservative families.

Indecency cases are not uncommon in Sudan, where there is a cultural gap between the mostly Muslim north and the south, dominated by Christians and followers of traditional beliefs.

Many women activists complain Sudan's public order regulations are vague and give individual police officers undue latitude to determine what is decent clothing for women.

Hussein was arrested by Sudan's public order police at a Khartoum party in July with 12 other women, 10 of whom pleaded guilty to similar charges and were flogged, she has said.

Village arbitration on Monday let off an alleged rapist of a thirteen-year girl with a mere fine in Kalapara, one month into the orchestrated release of a band of alleged rapists in a similar fashion.
The victim's family alleges a local public representative arranged the arbitration apparently to ensure escape of the rapist.
In another incident, a 12-year girl was gang-raped in Galachipa in the district on Tuesday night.
Earlier on Sunday night, shopkeeper Hanif Mollah, 30, of Dholir Bazar, Kalapara allegedly raped the thirteen-year-old girl when she came to buy goods from him.
Hearing her cries, locals held the culprit and handed him over to village defence police member Kawsar at around 8:45pm.
The next evening local Union Parishad member Anwar Hossain arranged the arbitration in presence of over 200 people where Hanif was handed down a fine of Tk 5,000 in addition to a whipping 50 times.
Family sources say Anwar forced the victim's father not to go for legal action and also pocketed the Tk 5,000 fine money.
Contacted, Anwar said the girl was not raped but there were some "symptoms" to that end. One the fine money, he said he kept it to manage different sections including the police.
Ishaq Ali, officer-in-charge of Kalapara police, said he had sent an officer to the spot and would comment only after his return.
Superintendent of Police Shaibal Kanti Chowdhury told The Daily Star, "We will take necessary action after running a proper investigation into this matter."
This is the second such arbitration in Kalapara within a month in which local arbitrators gave verdict in a punishable offence in a manner which itself is a cognizable offence.
Earlier on September 27, 16 alleged rapists were summoned to a local high school and handed down a fine of Tk 10,000 each after they allegedly picked up a girl and gang-raped her.
In Galachipa, a 12-year girl was gang-raped Tuesday night when the victim was going to her uncle's house.
The victim's uncle said three youths -- Liton, Manik and Yusuf -- picked up her from Godown Road, took her to a nearby rice mill and raped her.
Locals hearing her cry for help rushed to the spot and caught Liton, but the other two alleged rapists managed to escape.
The victim was admitted to Galachipa Upazila Health Complex but was shifted to Patuakhali General Hospital later as her condition deteriorated.
Police arrested Liton, 27, in this connection.

Tarek Mehanna grew up in Boston's upscale suburbs, earned a doctorate in pharmacology, taught religion and math at a Muslim middle school and was considered a typical American kid by those who knew him. Yet Mehanna, who had Egyptian and U.S. citizenship, told a friend he felt out of place in America, according to documents filed in court. And prosecutors say he used his hostility toward this country in a plot to kill U.S. troops in Iraq, assassinate top politicians and shoot down shoppers in U.S. malls.
Mehanna, 27, was arrested early Wednesday at his parents' home in Sudbury, an affluent town around 20 miles west of Boston. He was charged with conspiring with two others — Ahmad Abousamra, an American now in Syria, and an unidentified man who is cooperating with authorities — to support terrorism.
Ultimately, the trio never came close to pulling off an attack. Authorities say they never got the terrorist training they sought. The men told friends they were turned down because of their nationality, ethnicity or inexperience, or that the people they'd hoped would get them into such camps were either in jail or on a religious pilgrimage.
They abandoned the mall attack plans after their weapons contact said he could find only handguns, not automatic weapons, authorities said.
Mehanna's friends were shocked to see him depicted him as a would-be terrorist.
"He's not going to go crazy in a mall. There's no way he would do something like that," said Rola Yaghmour, 20, of Shrewsbury. "I read it and I was laughing, and I was like, 'They have to be kidding.' Because there's no way he would do something like that. It makes no sense."
Dr. Abdul Cader Asmal, a family friend who was president of the Islamic Center of Boston in Wayland when Mehanna was a middle school student attending weekly religious education classes, remembered him because they shared an interest in Superman. He said Mehanna would bring comics to show in class.
"He looked like a fun-loving, ordinary, typical American kid," said Asmal, an internist at Massachusetts General Hospital. "Certainly there was no hint at all that there was anything at all that would go awry in his behavior at that point."

A Muslim cleric in West Bengal, India, strangled his wife to death, tried to sever her head from the body with kitchen-knife, failing which he used his hands and feet to pull her head apart from the body. How could the cleric commit such extreme cruelty? Is Islam at play here?

Razia Bibi, a young Muslim woman of Gobramari Village (Canning Police Station, South 24-Parganas District, West Bengal, India) was brutally murdered and beheaded by Moulana Mohiuddin Sardar, an Islamic cleric of nearby village Moukhali. Mohiuddin worked as a religious teacher (moulabi) in the village of Palta (Dhubulia Police Station, Nadia District). Previously, he worked as a madrasa teacher in the Karajgram Village (Katwa Police Station, Bardhaman District) for a number of years.
Last year, he went to Gobramari to conduct the Eid Prayer, and lodged there with the family of Razia Bibi. There, he soon got involved in a sexual relation with Razia.
When the news of the relationship, considered a disgraceful scandal especially for the women, came to surface, the villagers and family members of Razia forced Mohiuddin to marry her; it was also alleged that he had made Razia pregnant.
It turned out that the allegation of pregnancy was not true; it was made, perhaps, to compel Mohiuddin to marry the girl. This made Mohiuddin angry. He was also not satisfied with the marriage, because Razia was of dark complexion and delicate health. On October 22, Mohiuddin, on the pretext of a visit to Dhubulia, he took Razia to Karajgram, a comparatively lonely place suitable for committing a crime. There he and Razia stayed at a lodge, and at night, he suffocated Razia to death with her scarf. Then, he tried to behead her with a kitchen-knife, which he had bought for the purpose at the Howrah Railway Station for ten rupees. But, the knife was good enough to do the job. To be sure of her death, he pulled apart her head from the body using his hands and legs. The next day, Katwa police discovered her dead-body, head completely severed, beside a canal in Karajgram.
Having committed the crime, Mohiuddin returned to Kolkata, and took shelter in a lodge in Canning. Incidentally, the Canning police went to the same lodge to investigate a different case at night. They entered Mohiuddin’s room by mistake, when Mohiuddin cried out, “I have committed a mistake. Please leave me. I shall not commit such a mistake again.” The police then took him to the Police Station, and, upon interrogation, came to know about Mohiuddin’s gruesome crime. He was then handed over to the Katwa police.
Mohiuddin confessed that on 22nd October, he set out from Gobramari with Razia and roamed the streets of Kolkata for the entire day. In the evening, they boarded a train to Katwa from Howrah Railway Station, and reached the destination at night. Interrogation further revealed that Mohiuddin first strangled Razia with her scarf; then he tried to sever her head with the kitchen-knife, but failed. Finally, he put his left foot on Razia’s chest, and caught hold of her hair with hands, before tearing her head off the body.
There are a few points that warrant special notice in this incident. It was not difficult for Mohiuddin to get rid of Razia. Firstly, he could easily divorce Razia by pronouncing ‘talaq’ [divorce] three times permitted in Islam. Secondly, he could also marry a second wife or more of his choice, as Shariah law allows him to keep four wives at a time. So, this brutal murder was not essential at all. Therefore, one has to conclude that Mohiuddin resorted to this cruelty only to avenge the wrong done to him, namely forcing him to marry Razia on a false allegation.
Such extreme cruelties against women are rather common amongst Muslims. Recently, a New York Muslim man brutally murdered and beheaded his wife for seeking divorce. It warrants investigation as to why predominantly Muslims commit such horrible acts of brutality? This author is convinced that it is the creed of Islam that inspires Muslims to commit such horrid acts of violence. Islam originated in Arabia where, till today, pastoral lifestyle persists, and killing animals for meat and letting of blood is a daily routine occurrence.
This cruelty is also overwhelmingly reflected in the Koran. Allah urges Muslims to mount cruelties and bloodshed on the kafirs, apostates, heretics and hypocrites. Islam’s message of the hereafter is also overwhelmingly frightening: horrible punishments and tortures of all sorts for infidels and deviants. One may recall here the legacy of horrible punishment by Muslim rulers in India for nearly 700 years. Ordered by revered Aurangzib, three disciples of Guru Govind Singh were murdered with extreme cruelty. Bhai Moti Dass was sawed alive like a log, Bhai Dyala was boiled alive and the third disciple was burnt alive. Firstly, he was wrapped with cotton and linen, soaked the cotton with oil and then setting it to fire.
It was a normal practice for the Muslim rulers to kill the kafirs, even suspect/deviant Muslims, arrested for any pretext, with extraordinary cruelty. Smashing the head under the foot of an elephant or under a heavy log, and tearing the limbs apart by pulling them by elephants etc. were common as well as amusing to those barbaric rulers. There were people who could invent newer kind of cruelties like flaying a child in front of a mother, flaying the husband in front of his wife and force her eat the flesh of her husband, cutting a child into pieces on his or her mother’s lap and so on. Even today, in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, women suspected of adultery are stoned to death in front large assemblies of common Muslims, who rejoice at the barbaric act.
Prophet Mohammad himself had taught his followers many such extreme brutalities, and it will be relevant to narrate one here. On one occasion, eight people of the Ukl clan came to Medina, embraced Islam, and became very dear to Mohammad. But the climate of Medina did not suit them, and they fell ill. Mohammad prescribed camel-milk as food and camel-urine as medicine for their recovery. They were shifted to stable of camels in the desert. Within a short time, they recovered from their illness. But after that, they committed a crime. Betraying Muhammad, they murdered the stable keeper, and fled with the camels. They were pursued and soon captured by Mohammad’s men, and brought back to Medina.
They committed three very serious crimes: 1) murdered the stable keeper; 2) stole the camels; 3) betrayed Muhammad. The first and the third crime deserved death sentence, while the second crime demanded chopping their right hands off. Mohammad decided to punish them with exemplary punishments, and, that too, by his own hands. He took two iron rods, made them red-hot and then pushed the rods into the eyes of the victims. Then he chopped the limbs of the victims off, and left them in the hot desert-sand under mid-day sun. Within a couple of hours, all the eight victims bled to death. They were denied water as they cried for it. If the Prophet could have exhibited such examples of cruelty, what can one expect from his followers?
What is most instructive to take note is that, Muslims around the world quickly pick up this pastoral cruelty, after conversion to Islam, through Koran and Hadiths, and the teachings of their Imams. It is needless to say that Islam has instilled similar cruel instinct in Mohiuddin of West Bengal, India, 14 centuries on.

Fighters linked to the militant Taliban group have threatened to kill Christians and burn their homes in Pakistan's Punjab province if they don't meet their demands.Islam (accessories included).

In a letter sent to the Christian community in the northeastern city of Sargodha, Taliban militants said Christians should convert to Islam, pay an Islamic tax imposed on religious minorities, known as 'Jizya tax', or leave the country.

If Christians refuse to accept these choices, Christians “will be killed, their property and homes will be burnt to ashes and their women treated as sex slaves,” said the letter, which was distributed to Worthy News and its partner agency BosNewsLife by rights group International Christian Concern (ICC). The Christians “themselves would be responsible for this,” the letter added.

News of the statement emerged as Pakistan's army prepared for a ground offensive elsewhere in Pakistan, in South Waziristan, following a string of brazen attacks, believed to be part of a Taliban campaign, that killed more than 150 people in the last two weeks.

IN CROSS-FIRE

Christians have been in the cross-fire or directly targeted by Islamic militants with links to the Taliban and al-Qaida. Militants have accused them of representing an evil Western religion and of supporting the U.S.-led war on terror.

It was not immediately clear which faction within the Taliban sent the threatening letter, but local Christian leaders apparently took the statement seriously.

Reverend Zaheer Khan, pastor of Maghoo Memorial Church, Reverend Aamir Azeem, pastor of United Christians Church and Reverend Zafar Akhter, pastor of United Presbyterian Church apparently each received a copy of threatening letter.

Other Christian institutions reportedly included St Peter’s Middle School, the Sargodha Institute of Technology, Sargodha Catholic High School, St John's Primary School and Fatima Hospital.

Besides these Christian institutions, the letter was also sent to a key center of Shiite Muslims, the Immam-Bar-Gha, ICC said. Shiites are a minority Muslim group in Pakistan where the majority of the population is Sunni Muslim.

"SOFT TARGETS"

ICC representative Jonathan Racho told Worthy News in a statement that "Christians in Pakistan are soft targets for attacks by Islamic extremists. Over the past four months alone, 12 Christians have been killed by Muslims due to their faith."

Racho said ICC has been “alarmed by the increase in attacks against Christians in Pakistan. We urge Pakistani officials to take the threatening letters seriously and take measures to protect the Christians and their institutions from attacks.”

ICC said it had urged Christians around the world to contact Pakistani embassies in their countries and express concern about the situation.

Gorontalo mayoralty administration has obliged its Muslim civil servants to read the Koran every Friday.

Gorontalo mayor Adhan Dambea said Saturday that he was not yet satisfied with the implementation of his instruction.

"Some civil servants are still unable to read the Koran fluently," he said.

He said his administration would provide religious teachers to improve the civil servant ability to read the Koran.

However, he promised that public service would not be affected with the new Koran reading activity in his administration.

FIVE men who stockpiled bomb-making instructions and bought explosive chemicals were convicted today of Australia's largest terrorist conspiracy.
A jury in Sydney deliberated for a month before finding the men guilty of conspiring to commit acts in preparation for a terrorist attack.

Each faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

During the trial, which began last November, prosecutor Richard Maidment told the jury that the men planned to use explosive devices or firearms to commit "extreme violence" in a bid to force Australia's government to change its policy on Middle East conflicts.

Justice Anthony Whealy banned the media from publishing the men's names online.

The men were arrested in a series of raids on their homes in 2005. Mr Maidment said during the trial that the raids turned up bomb-making instructions and militant Islamist material.

The prosecutor also said the men purchased explosive chemicals and guns between July 2004 and November 2005.

The jury was also told one man took part in a terrorist-run paramilitary training camp in Pakistan and three others attended similar camps in New South Wales.

Cleric successfully defended himself saying the marriage was allowed by his religion!

An Indonesian court has acquitted controversial Muslim cleric Pujiono Cahyo Widianto over child sexual molestation charges for marrying an underage girl, aged 12 last year. Widianto risked up to 15 years in jail, had he been convicted of the charges. Prosecutors said they would appeal the court ruling. The girl is his second wife.

After hearing the charges and the plea from the legal team of Pujiono alias Syech Puji, 43, led by top lawyer O.C. Kaligis, presiding judge Hari Mulyanto deemed the charges unclear and inaccurate, meaning the trial could not proceed.

"The defendant is acquitted of the charges and should be released from detention," Hari told the trial at the Ungaran District Court, Central Java, which was open to the public.

Prosecutors had charged Pujiono, a wealthy brassware entrepreneur and owner of Miftahul Jannah Islamic boarding school in Jambu district of violating the 2002 law on child protection and article 290 of Indonesia's Criminal Code on child molestation for marrying an underage girl, Lutfiana Ulfa, just 12 years old and still an eighth grader, in August, 2008.

Pujiono's second wife, Lutfiana, and his first wife, Ummi Hani, also present in court, greeted the acquittal joyously and cried.

Prosecutors said they would file an appeal. "We will redraft the charges immediately and file an appeal," said prosecutor Didik Djoko Ady after the trial. He said the judges should have proceeded with the trial and heard the charges.

"Instead the judges acquitted the defendant and ended the trial," said Didik. He added his team would rework the indictments and resubmit them to the court.

The marriage became a controversial public issue, with the cleric defending himself by saying the marriage was allowed by his religion.

Follow the burqa. Where she goes, you will probably find normalized wife-battering, serious child abuse, including honor killings too—as well as polygamy, and a pathological hatred of Jews, Israelis, Hindus, Americans, and all other infidels. There you may also find terrorist cells or supporters of terrorism. From this point of view—ban the burqa, and it may lead to an exodus of terrorists back to their fundamentalist-friendly home countries. But there is another point of view which interests me more, namely, the human rights/woman’s rights argument as grounds to ban the burqa. I have made that argument in these pages. I have found support from Muslim feminists, first at an international conference in Rome, and now in a new book on the subject.

I have been reading the most elegant and excellent book on the subject of the Islamic Veil. Written by Marnia Lazreg Questioning the Veil. Open Letters to Muslim Women.It is carefully reasoned and beautifully written. Lazreg is an Algerian Muslim feminist academic and her mother once wore the veil. She is respectful of Muslim women’s own feelings and of their religious desires. She argues that the veil (face, head, and full body covering) is not commanded in the Qu’ran; that it is harmful to women’s physical and mental health; and that it is mainly a political statement about fundamentalism and misogyny. She has little patience for feminist academics who themselves are not forced to veil and who “play” at imagining or de-constructing the veil as “liberatory” or as a statement of “resistance.” Of course, she is also on record as having objected to the “manner in which Muslim women have been portrayed in books as well as the media,” namely, in ways that focus on them only as oppressed victims.

In her last letter, Lazreg implores Muslim women to stop wearing the veil. “It is a symbol of inequality…it undermines faith… it objectifies women for (reasons of) political propaganda just like advertising in Western society does: one by covering, and the other by exposing womens’s bodies.” Lazreg also views the veil as harming Muslim women’s employment because “hijab symbolically inserts her into a virtual domestic space” and affects how she is viewed and treated at work. She re-defines “modesty” as related to behavior and character rather than to appearance and opposes “the straitjacketing of a woman’s body. Removing or refusing to veil does not mean that a Muslim woman has succumbed to the West. She writes:

“Not wearing the veil is not a victory of the ‘West,’ it is women’s victory over a custom that inflects their thinking about themselves as human beings. Wearing the veil is not a strike against anti-Muslim prejudice…As long as states mandate or prohibit veiling, as long as political movements advocate for it, as long as organized networks with books , lectures, DVDs, and course packets promote it far and wide, a woman can never be sure she takes up the veil freedly…Ultimately, there is no compelling justification for veiling, not even faith…No one is entitled to turn the veil into a political flag.”

Human Rights Watch Says Sharia Stoning & Lashing Laws are Torture...

A new law mandating death by stoning for adulterers in Indonesia's deeply Islamic Aceh province advocated "torture" and should be overturned, US-based group Human Rights Watch said on Monday.

"Stoning and flogging constitute torture in any circumstances," said Elaine Pearson, the head of Human Rights Watch Asia.

"Imposing these draconian punishments on private, consensual conduct means the government can dictate people's intimate lives."

The law - which also allows punishments of up to 400 lashes for child rape, 100 lashes for homosexual acts and 60 lashes for gambling - was passed unanimously last month in the staunchly Islamic region.

It is yet to be approved by the provincial governor and is opposed by the central government in Jakarta.

The law, based on local interpretations of Islamic or sharia law, is supposed to replace elements of Indonesia's criminal code.

It allows the death penalty for a married person and 100 lashes for an unmarried person found guilty of adultery.

Human Rights Watch urged the central government and a new incoming local parliament in Aceh to overturn the law.

How the so-called moderate Muslims are part of the problem of Islamic extremism and terrorism...

We all remember a fateful day of September 11, 2001, when 19 Muslim men, proclaiming the greatness of Allah, "Allahu Akbar", acted on the dictates of their faith.
But, do you ever recall loud denouncements from all Islamic institutions that soundly rebuked these hotheads? Do you remember if mosques, from Quetta to Cairo, repudiated Osama Bin Laden, and ever issued fatwas against Mullah Omar? Do you marvel at the facts that 99% of Muslims, who call themselves “moderates”, ever swiftly showed their solidarity with the western world, making the remaining 1% (”extremists”) outcaste and pariah of the society?
Hmmmmm… Me neither!
Nevertheless, I do remember bellicose statements, that could ever be called upon the discourse, to exempt Islam from all actions taken in its very name. I do remember a sizable population of Muslims calling it an inside job by the Bush Administration, or a Jewish plot --- a conspiracy theory still believed by large masses of Muslims. And of those Muslims, who believed it was a Muslim act, I do remember them telling that Islam is unquestionably a “Religion of Peace and universal-brotherhood”, and that some disgruntled youths, misguided by the mullahs, were exploited to inflict harm upon us, and bring dishonor upon the glorious name of Islam. Whatever we do, we ought not to hold Islam liable?
Moderate Muslims’ Silent as a tomb!
I did not see any of those good moderate Muslims, who are so touchy about an unkind word directed at Islam, were ever outraged at the fact that Muslim youths had besmirched Islam’s glory. I did not even see these same moderate Muslims being infuriated at Osama bin Laden for insinuating that bin Laden was driven by the true Islamic faith; they never called for Mullah Omar's expulsion from Pakistan. I also did not see these same moderate Muslims ever pressure the Pakistani establishments to expel the masterminds of the 1999 hijackings or even Dawood Ibrahim or the members of Lashkar-e-Tayyeba, who authored carnage in New Delhi and Mumbai. I did not see these moderate Muslims to pressure Saudi Arabia and the UAE to terminate their diplomatic relations with the Taliban and to their funding of Jihadi outfits in Pakistan. These moderate Muslims just stood by in pious silence!

The establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, the Nakba (catastrophe) for Arabs, and the aggression by five well-armed Arab countries, assisting local Arab gangs and militias who had been attacking Jews for years, placed Jews in Israel and the state in mortal danger.

Fighting back, Israel eventually negotiated an armistice in 1949 that allowed it respite from open war, albeit not terrorism, and without peace. The Egyptians occupied the Gaza Strip; the Jordanians occupied Judea, Samaria, and the eastern part of Jerusalem, including the Old City and Temple Mount; Syria continued to occupy the Golan Heights, from which it constantly shelled Israeli settlements; all trained and supplied terrorists who raided Israel. The UN did nothing.

Arabs who left homes and property in Israel, and many from other countries who joined Arab armies and did not want to return, remained in Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan, most as “refugees” under the care of UNRWA.

This heterogeneous population was called “Arab refugees,” not “Palestinians,” because at the time there was no such group or people.

One reason they were called “Arab refugees” was that there were a lot of other refugees in Palestine who were Jewish. Hundreds of thousands of Jewish refugees from Arab countries streamed into Israel. UNRWA offered no aid, although Jewish refugees had lost everything and the newly established state had few resources.

It took a crafty Egyptian, Yasser Arafat, to create the PLO with his friends to promote the destruction of Israel and the return of Arab refugees. Arab countries saw them as convenient proxies in their war against Israel, to “liberate Palestine.”
Except for Jordan, no Arab host country permitted the newcomers to obtain citizenship; as temporary residents, their civil and humanitarian rights were harshly restricted.

The designation “Palestinian” did not become widely accepted until after the war in 1967, in which Israel, in self-defense, captured areas that had been assigned to a Jewish state by the League of Nations and Mandate, and then occupied by Arab countries: Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem; the Gaza Strip and Golan Heights, rich in Jewish history and archeology; and the Sinai Peninsula.

As the PLO launched mega-terrorist attacks around the world, “Palestinianism” became accepted, backed by the Arab League, Muslim and “non-aligned” countries, and the United Nations.

October 1, 2009: The majority of the Islamic terrorists (gunmen, suicide bombers, helpers of all sorts) come from madrassas (Islamic schools). Such schools are found all over the Islamic world, but the ones that produce the most terrorists are those that teach a conservative form of Islam, usually one that justifies militant Islam, hatred of non-Moslems and a favorable attitude towards Islamic radicalism. There are probably fewer than five million kids attending these conservative madrassas. But these schools turn out thousands of potential terrorists each year.

An extensive study of the madrassas in Pakistan found that only about 1-2 percent of the nations children were attending the religious schools. Most of the Islamic schools were concentrated in the Pushtun (tribal) areas, where they attracted as much as ten percent in some districts. Earlier nationwide estimates ranged from 10-33 percent. The madrasses tend to teach a conservative version of Islam and stress the need to fight infidels (non-Moslems), but they also teach basic literacy and some math. Since most Islamic states have terrible educations systems, parents see madrassas as a viable option.

Ramazan — the toughest month for the poor

MANY workers providing services to the affluent by stitching dresses, ironing clothes or working as salesmen at fabric shops cannot afford these luxuries for their own families because of extremely low wages.

Sakina is a widow who looks after her two minor boys, a grown up daughter who is mentally retarded and a married daughter who visits her twice a week with her child and husband. She irons dresses in her one room house for wealthy families in the neighbourhood. The cost of electricity has doubled but the amount that she gets for pressing a dress has not increased proportionately. In Ramazan, she works 18 hours a day to cope with higher demand.

Yet she and her children rarely wear clothes that are ironed. To her dismay, the additional income she generated this year was consumed in buying high priced food items. She could not afford to stand in a queue the whole day at bazaars opened by the Punjab government.

Mumtaz stitches women’s dresses round the year but overworks in Ramazan to cope with higher demand. Yet she hardly saves enough to afford a new dress for herself. She is in her late forties and is unmarried. She looks after her younger brother and lives in a rented house.

Akbar is a salesman at a cloth shop at Anarkali. He has to work extra hours throughout Ramazan. His monthly salary is Rs 6,000 that is high by market standards.

He, however, can not afford to buy fabric for dresses of his two younger sisters. He did not earn extra overtime in the fasting month as he is asked to come to the shop at 1 pm and leave after 12 hours at 1 am which is routine working time for all salesmen.

Increase in the prices of essential food items is an unfortunate tradition in Ramazan, effectively making this month the most expensive of the year. Yet local incomes are well below a living wage and it is difficult to see how in such circumstances a believer can honestly and adequately provide for his or her family during this month.

In much the same vein, it is not clear how one can extend a sense of generosity to others when their own personal needs are far from being met.

Those who engage in and benefit from price hike are Muslims who also claim to be fasting and seeking absolution from worldly vices. In practice, they show little compassion for those who have to pay high prices for food commodities or for those less well off, who may in addition have large families to feed.

The manner in which alms is administered by these rich families renders redundant the concept of respecting another’s dignity and confidentiality. They rather engage in an arrogant display of wealth with very little intention to make a difference.

Why Mock Islam? Because it is therapeutic!

Mocking is a very powerful way to convince
those who are unwilling to think to do it. Shame is a great motivator.

Muhammad suffered from malignant narcissistic personality disorder. His
followers, to the degree that they emulate him, think like him and try
to behave like him, have entered into his narcissistic bubble universe
and have become narcissists by extension. This happens to all cultists.
In all cults, the insanity of the guru reflects on the followers who
surrender their intelligence to him and follow him unquestioningly and
brainlessly.

The narcissists feel grandiose and self-important. They want to be
acknowledged without commensurate merit. They want recognition and
preferential treatment. They expect respect without feeling any
obligation to reciprocate. They get their sense of self- importance by
putting you down, criticizing you, decrying your world and disparaging
your values, but you are not allowed to slight them. It is okay for
them to violate your rights, abuse you and even kill you, but you are
not supposed to mistreat them in the slightest way. In fact, they
demand privileges that are not available to others. What they want is
your submission. That is what Islam is all about - submission.

Never comply

The narcissists are bullies. They should not get what they want or they
become emboldened and demand more. They will never be satisfied. The
more you give in, the more demanding they become. They can never have
enough narcissistic supplies. It is a mistake to give in to their
caprices and comply with their demands.

The narcissist takes himself too seriously. He lacks self-esteem and
what he dreads most is humiliation. For him, image is everything. He
attacks you, verbally, physically, or both. He highlights your faults
and belittles you. By doing so he feels better about his own failures.
He hides behind a false image of self righteousness. That image must be
destroyed and the way to do that is through ridicule.

Charlie Chaplin knew the great power of ridicule. A strong opponent of
racism, in 1937 Chaplin decided to make a film on the dangers of
fascism. As Chaplin pointed out in his autobiography, attempts were
made to stop the film being made: "Half-way through making The Great
Dictator I began receiving alarming messages from United Artists. They
had been advised by the Hays Office that I would run into censorship
trouble. Also the English office was very concerned about an
anti-Hitler picture and doubted whether it could be shown in Britain .
But I was determined to go ahead, for Hitler must be laughed at."

Just like in the thirties, today there are many useful idiots who
defend Islam, apply censorship and try to silence its critics. These
fools must be put to shame too.

Do not underestimate the power of ridicule. This is not a laughing
matter. Mock Muhammad and Islam as this will eventually help the
Muslims get rid of their cult. They must feel embarrassed for calling
themselves Muslim.

This therapy works. I have seen it work many times. Intelligent people,
who at first defend Islam, feel embarrassed to be called Muslims, once
they see the stupidity of this cult, and claim they are not Muslims.
They try to dissociate themselves from it. At first this distancing
may not be heartfelt, but the very fact that they prefer to hide their
real sentiment about Islam because they are embarrassed of it is the
first step -a very important one - for them to leave Islam in reality.
It is just a matter of time that they cut their umbilical cords from it
and get rid of this cult completely.

Today Muslims become angry if you ridicule their faith, but once they
are free from this bondage of the mind they will thank you for it.

When Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad spoke at Columbia University two years ago, declared that there were no Homosexuals in Iran. Many people (including me) thought it a joke. The real reason the Iranian mass-murderer said that there were no Homosexuals in Iran is that being gay in Iran is a capital offense punishable by death.

But its not just Iran and Saudi Arabia, Homosexuality is a crime in most of the fundamental Islamic world

According to a pamphlet produced by Al-Fatiha, there is a consensus among Islamic scholars that all humans are naturally heterosexual. Homosexuality is seen by scholars to be a sinful and perverted deviation from the norm.

All Islamic schools of thought and jurisprudence consider gay acts to be unlawful. The Companions of Prophet Muhammad held various views concerning punishment. The fatwa cited by IslamOnline.net states:

"....this led to different views maintained by Muslim Jurists. For example:

In the Hanafi school of thought, the homosexual is punished through harsh beating, and if he/she repeats the act, death penalty is to be applied.
As for the Shafi`i school of thought, the homosexual receives the same punishment of adultery (if he/she is married) or fornication (if not married). This means, that if the homosexual is married, he/she is stoned to death, while if single, he/she is whipped 100 times.

Does Islam proscribe death for the Muslim who converts to another religion?

Those who turn their back on Islam are to be put to death. This is confirmed by the words and deeds of Muhammad. There is no such thing as freedom of belief in Islam.

The Qur'an:

Qur'an (9:11-12) - "But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then are they your brethren in religion. We detail Our revelations for a people who have knowledge. And if they break their pledges after their treaty (hath been made with you) and assail your religion, then fight the heads of disbelief - Lo! they have no binding oaths - in order that they may desist." This verse is speaking of infidels (ie. "slay the infidels wherever you find them" 9:5) who obviously became Muslim to escape the sword, but the Hadith make no distinction of how a Muslim came to be a Muslim. Apostasy is always punished by death.

Other verses that seem to support the many Hadith demanding death for apostates are Qur'an verses 2:217, 9:73-74, 88:21, 5:54, and 9:66.

Advocates for killing apostates have pointed out that the supporting hadith are reliable and thus qualify as law according to verse 4:80 - "Whoso obeyeth the Messenger obeyeth Allah."

From the Hadith:

The reason why executing apostates has always been well-ensconced in Islamic law is that there is an indisputable record of Muhammad and his companions doing exactly that.

Bukhari (52:260) - "...The Prophet said, 'If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him.' "

Bukhari (83:37) - "Allah's Apostle never killed anyone except in one of the following three situations: (1) A person who killed somebody unjustly, was killed (in Qisas,) (2) a married person who committed illegal sexual intercourse and (3) a man who fought against Allah and His Apostle and deserted Islam and became an apostate."

Bukhari (84:57) - "[In the words of] Allah's Apostle, 'Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.'"

Bukhari (89:271) - A man who embraces Islam, then reverts to Judaism is to be killed according to "the verdict of Allah and his apostle."

Bukhari (84:58) - "There was a fettered man beside Abu Muisa. Mu'adh asked, 'Who is this (man)?' Abu Muisa said, 'He was a Jew and became a Muslim and then reverted back to Judaism.' Then Abu Muisa requested Mu'adh to sit down but Mu'adh said, 'I will not sit down till he has been killed. This is the judgment of Allah and His Apostle (for such cases) and repeated it thrice.' Then Abu Musa ordered that the man be killed, and he was killed. Abu Musa added, 'Then we discussed the night prayers'"

Bukhari (84:64-65) - "Allah's Apostle: 'During the last days there will appear some young foolish people who will say the best words but their faith will not go beyond their throats (i.e. they will have no faith) and will go out from (leave) their religion as an arrow goes out of the game. So, wherever you find them, kill them, for whoever kills them shall have reward on the Day of Resurrection.'"

Additional Notes:

Apostasy is taken so seriously by Muslims that it spawned the first of many major wars within the community immediately after Muhammad's death, when several tribes wanted to leave Islam and go back to their preferred religion.

Although it has been perfectly acceptable under Islamic law to kill Muslims who choose to embrace another religion, contemporary Muslims have realized how weak and draconian this causes Islam to appear. (A sound philosophy does not require a death threat to retain believers). As such, there is a modern tendency to deny fourteen centuries of Islamic teaching and even the very words of Muhammad himself - at least for Western ears.

Such defenders disingenuously quote verse 2:256 which states "Let there be no compulsion in religion, for truth stands out from error" and a fragment of verse 10:99-100, "Wouldst thou (Muhammad) compel men until they are believers?" But nearly all Muslim scholars agree that both verses were spoken by Muhammad during an earlier time in his teachings, when he did not have the power to compel others. They are abrogated by later verses, such as verse 9:29, which clearly commands Muslims to fight unbelievers until they relent and either accept Islam or a state of humiliation under Islamic rule (an obvious illustration of compulsion).

These apologists also ignore the fact that apostasy is not mere unbelief, but unbelief that follows belief, which neither of these verses address. Muhammad's recognition of the distinction is reflected in his own deeds, following his capture of Mecca, and in those of his companions following his death.

There is also a difference between saying and believing. Whereas Muhammad knew that people could (and should) be forced to profess that there is no god but Allah, he also recognized that true belief cannot be forced. This may be the reconciliation between his contrasting remarks.

In any event, the damage is done. Islam expanded across the globe by conquering people of other religions and then making life miserable for those who didn't "embrace Islam." Once spoken, a person was locked into the faith. Any sign of false witness - such as not raising their children to be Muslim - was punished with death. Thus did Islam gradually supplant other religions.

Tellingly, the same modern apologists who lie about Islam's mandate to kill apostates do not champion the right of other religions to evangelize in Muslim countries. In fact, they discourage it. They know as well as anyone that Islam cannot compete within the arena of free ideas and must rely on brute force at some level to retain believers.

Young Christian man accused of blasphemy killed in prison

Divehi Christians are afraid of being murdered. Even here in the blogosphere, there are calls to murder those who 'insult Islam". To these Good Muslims just about anything can be a Challenge to Allah deserving of a death sentence...That is why you never hear from or get to know a Divehi Christian.

The young Christian man who was arrested on 12 September in a village in Punjab accused of blasphemy was killed last night in prison. Police had Fanish, 20, remanded into their custody in order to continue their investigation. This morning prison guards in Sialkot district prison found the lifeless body of the young man with visible signs of injuries.

For Nadeem Anthony, member of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), his death was judicial murder. Condemning in the strongest terms the latest anti-Christian outrage, the activist told AsiaNews that for police the young committed suicide by hanging himself in jail, something that for him does not make sense. Instead, “it is a torture killing” because “we can see signs of torture on his body in the picture.”

AsiaNews also received photos of the lifeless body. In it the type of injuries that can be seen appear unrelated to strangulation by hanging.

The body is at the disposal of the legal authority, which has ordered an autopsy at Sialkot’s Civil Hospital.

Fanish (pictured in prison) was arrested last Saturday after accusations of blasphemy were made against him. A day earlier a Muslim mob had gathered in front of the church in the village of Jaithikey, not far from the town of Samberial, in the district of Sialkot (Punjab), to teach the local Christian community a “lesson”.

Extremists damaged the building before setting it on fire. They also pillaged two homes near the church.

A relationship between the 20-year-old Christian man and a young Muslim woman appears to be the cause of the turn of events.

Fanish was accused of provoking the young woman and of throwing away a copy of the Qur‘an she had in her hands.

Fr Emmanuel Yousaf Mani, director of the National Commission for Justice and Peace (NCJP) of the Catholic Church, said that “Muslims cannot stand the idea that a Muslim woman might fall in love with a Christian.

”
