Blasphemy and the Islamic law

"Last week on Tuesday, May 13th, Human Rights Watch urged Saudi Arabia to revoke a death sentence. Sabri Bogday, a Turkish man who had a barbershop in the Saudi kingdom, had been given a death sentence in April this year. Mr Bogday was accused of blaspheming against Allah. The incident allegedly took place 14 months ago during an argument with his neighbor, an Egyptian who ran a tailor's shop.
The Egyptian filed the complaint and then disappeared. Mr Bogday admitted charges of "swearing against Allah," but was not given a chance to repent. Mr Bogday retains his Turkish citizenship, even though he has lived in the Saudi kingdom for 11 years. The Turkish government is trying to assist his attempts to have the death sentence removed.
In Afghanistan this weekend, on Sunday May 18th, an apprentice journalist appeared briefly in court. 23-year-old Parwiz Kambakhsh was sentenced to death in Mazar-i-Sharif in the north of Afghanistan on January 22nd this year for blasphemy. Mr Khambakhsh had downloaded an article from an Iranian website, and brought it into his journalism class.
This article questioned why a man is allowed under Islam to have four wives, but a woman is not allowed four husbands. Khambakhsh maintains that he only brought the article into class for the purposes of discussion. He was given only three minutes to prepare his defense when he was taken to court, and the trial took place in secret. On Sunday, an appeal court judge told him he had one week to prepare for his appeal against the death penalty. Khambakhsh told the judge: "I'm a Muslim and will never allow myself to insult my religion."
Back in March 2006, the West was shocked when a court ruled that an Afghan man, Abdul Rahman, was sentenced to death by an Afghan court. Rahman had converted to Christianity. Apostasy, according to Judge Ansarullah Mawlawizadah, was "an attack on Islam." 500 Muslim clerics demanded the death penalty for Rahman. He was smuggled out of the country and now lives in Italy.
Even the Afghanistan Senate approved the death sentence against 23-year-year old Parwiz Kambakhsh. The trainee journalist's plight may be politically motivated - his brother Sayed Yaqub Ibrahimi has written on the atrocities committed by a former leader in the Northern Alliance. This man is Haji Mohammed Mohaqeq. It appears that the harshness of Parwiz's sentence may have been intended to silence his brother's reports. Mohaqeq is head of Afghanistan's Religious and Cultural Affairs Commission, and is based in Mazar-i-Sharif.
In Pakistan, harsh laws against blasphemy were introduced by the Islamist military dictator General Zia ul-Haq, who ruled the country from July 1977 until his death in a plane crash in August 1988. Anyone who is officially accused of any of Pakistan's blasphemy laws is automatically taken into custody. These laws will be discussed in more depth later, but in practice they are frequently used to discriminate against non-Muslims.
People accused of blasphemy in Pakistan often become the victims of lynch-mobs. Last month, on April 8th a young Hindu was lynched to death by his co-workers after being accused of blaspheming against Mohammed, founder of Islam.
23-year-old Jagdeesh Kumar worked at a garment factory in Karachi, a port city in Sindh province. He was beaten to death while a contingent of police stood by and did nothing. It took days for a police report to be filed on the case, but arrests did not happen until weeks later. According to my friend, Pakistani Christian journalist Qaiser Felix, when the three workers who killed Jagdesh were arrested, they were "charged not with murder but with 'failure to inform the police that blasphemy was underway.'" Qaiser wrote that Jagdeesh was the first Hindu to die as a result of Pakistan's blasphemy laws.
On Friday last week, Compass Direct reported on the case of a Pakistani Christian, Dr. Robin Sardar. This man, a father of six, lives in Punjab Province, along with most of Pakistan's small number of Christians. Dr. Sardar appears to have been falsely accused of blasphemy by a street vendor. The doctor argued with the vendor. The next day (May 5th), after the vendor had been reporting that Dr. Sardar had earlier blasphemed against Mohammed, a mob of Muslims arrived at his home, calling for his death. Police arrested Dr Sardar. His house now carries a sign outside it, bearing the words: "This is the house of a blasphemer."
According to Dr. Sardar's nephew, he had been friends with his accuser for years before the blasphemy accusation was made. A police report was filed. Since 1990, an amendment to the law means that anyone found guilty of blaspheming against Mohammed receives a mandatory death sentence. So far, no one has been executed for blasphemy in Pakistan, although at least 22 individuals have been lynched to death after being accused of the crime.
One activist based in Islamabad has said: "Not a single murderer who killed anyone for blasphemy has been punished for murder. In fact, such murderers get hero's treatment in police stations. And those police officials who openly honour such murderers have never been tried for their illegal and reprehensible action."
In Bangladesh this month, a Christian pastor based in Mymensingh district was "punished" by Muslim villagers for being open about his faith and ignoring the death threats that Muslims made against him. On May 2 the 13-year-old daughter of Pastor Motilal Das was gang-raped by five Muslim villagers.
These are just a few recent cases. What do such acts of brutality and laws that support intolerance say about these societies? Why is Islam the only faith to continue to condone the killing of apostates and blasphemers?"

Palestinians admit they left their homes on their own to facilitate destruction of Israel

In 1978 Maldivians became al-Akh (brothers) with the Palestinian people. Money was raised to "liberate" al-Goodhs. One could argue that we Maldivians have killed Israelis with suicide bombs and home made rockets since we gave Yasser Arafat some money to fight.
Although we are al-Akh with the Palestinians, there is very little we know about them. But that does not make our brotherhood any less. Palestine (and the destruction of Israel) is more important to Maldivians than Maldives itself!
Maldivians think that the refugees were expelled by Israel. But the truth is the Arabs who became refugees in 1948 were not expelled by Israel but left on their own to facilitate the destruction of Israel. The Palestinian Arabs are VICTIMS Of THEMSELVES,THE ARAB WORLD, and the ISLAMIC UMMA, for their refusal to ACCEPT the EXISTENCE of ISRAEL.

Here is a collection of statements from Palestinians, admitting that the Arabs who became refugees in 1948 were not expelled by Israel but left on their own to facilitate the destruction of Israel. (From a bulletin by Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook for Palestinian Media Watch
with thanks to Jihad Watch)
The Arabs who became refugees in 1948 were not expelled by Israel but left on their own to facilitate the destruction of Israel, according to a senior Palestinian journalist writing in a Palestinian daily. This plan to leave Israel was initiated by the Arab states fighting Israel, who promised the people they would be able to return to their homes in a few days once Israel was defeated. The article in Al-Ayyam concludes that these Arab states are responsible for the Arab refugee problem.

A backbone of Palestinian English-language propaganda is the myth that Israel expelled hundreds of thousands of Arabs from Israel and created Arab refugees. But in recent years, PMW has documented an increasing willingness among Palestinians to openly blame the Arab states and not Israel.

Following are five such statements of blame, starting with this most recent article and including testimony from refugees themselves and corroboration by Palestinian leaders. Clearly, there is a growing Palestinian willingness to blame the Arab leaders, which corroborates Israel's historical record.

1. Jawad Al Bashiti, Palestinian journalist in Jordan, writing in Al-Ayyam, May 13, 2008

"Remind me of one real cause from all the factors that have caused the "Palestinian Catastrophe" [the establishment of Israel and the creation of refugee problem], and I will remind you that it still exists... The reasons for the Palestinian Catastrophe are the same reasons that have produced and are still producing our Catastrophes today.
During the Little Catastrophe, meaning the Palestinian Catastrophe the following happened: the first war between Arabs and Israel had started and the "Arab Salvation Army" came and told the Palestinians: 'We have come to you in order to liquidate the Zionists and their state. Leave your houses and villages, you will return to them in a few days safely. Leave them so we can fulfill our mission (destroy Israel) in the best way and so you won't be hurt.' It became clear already then, when it was too late, that the support of the Arab states (against Israel) was a big illusion. Arabs fought as if intending to cause the "Palestinian Catastrophe". [Al-Ayyam, May 13 2008]

2. Mahmoud Al-Habbash, Palestinian Journalist in PA official daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, December 13, 2006

"...The leaders and the elites promised us at the beginning of the "Catastrophe" in 1948, that the duration of the exile will not be long, and that it will not last more than a few days or months, and afterwards the refugees will return to their homes, which most of them did not leave only until they put their trust in those "Arkuvian" promises made by the leaders and the political elites. Afterwards, days passed, months, years and decades, and the promises were lost with the strain of the succession of events..." [Term "Arkuvian," is after Arkuv - a figure from Arab tradition - who was known for breaking his promises and for his lies."] "
[Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, December 13, 2006]

3. Asmaa Jabir Balasimah, Woman who fled Israel in 1948, Al-Ayyam, May 16, 2006

"We heard sounds of explosions and of gunfire at the beginning of the summer in the year of the "Catastrophe" [1948]. They told us: The Jews attacked our region and it is better to evacuate the village and return, after the battle is over. And indeed there were among us [who fled Israel] those who left a fire burning under the pot, those who left their flock [of sheep] and those who left their money and gold behind, based on the assumption that we would return after a few hours."
[Al-Ayyam, May 16, 2006]

4. Son of man who fled in 1948, PA TV 1999

An Arab viewer called Palestinian Authority TV and quoted his father, saying that in 1948 the Arab District Officer ordered all Arabs to leave Palestine or be labeled traitors. In response, Arab MK Ibrahim Sarsur, then Head of the Islamic Movement in Israel, cursed those leaders, thus acknowledging Israel's historical record.

"Mr. Ibrahim [Sarsur]. I address you as a Muslim. My father and grandfather told me that during the "Catastrophe" [in 1948], our district officer issued an order that whoever stays in Palestine and in Majdel [near Ashkelon - Southern Israel] is a traitor, he is a traitor."

Response from Ibrahim Sarsur, now MK, then Head of the Islamic Movement in Israel:
"The one who gave the order forbidding them to stay there bears guilt for this, in this life and the Afterlife throughout history until Resurrection Day."
[PA TV April 30, 1999]

5. Fuad Abu Higla, senior Palestinian, Al-Hayat Al-Jadidah, March 19, 2001

Fuad Abu Higla, then a regular columnist in the official PA daily Al Hayat Al Jadida, wrote an article before an Arab Summit, which criticized the Arab leaders. One of the failures he cited, in the name of a prisoner, was that an earlier generation of Arab leaders "forced" them to leave Israel in 1948, again placing the blame for the flight on the Arab leaders.

"I have received a letter from a prisoner in Acre prison, to the Arab summit:
To the [Arab and Muslim] Kings and Presidents, poverty is killing us, the symptoms are exhausting us and the souls are leaving our body, yet you are still searching for the way to provide aid, like one who is looking for a needle in a haystack or like the armies of your predecessors in the year of 1948, who forced us to leave [Israel], on the pretext of clearing the battlefields of civilians...So what will your summit do now?"
[Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, March 19, 2001]

Conclusion
It is clear from these statements that there is general acknowledgment among Palestinians that Arab leaders bear responsibility for the mass flight of Arabs from Israel in 1948, and were the cause of the "refugee" problem. Furthermore, the fact that this information has been validated by public figures and refugees in the Palestinian Authority media itself confirms that this responsibility is well-known - even though for propaganda purposes its leaders continue to blame Israel publicly for "the expulsion."

"The Palestinians are in the refugee camps because the Arab nations want them in refugee camps in order to perpetuate political hatred against Israel"

"The Palestinian refugees have been used as political pawns for the past 60 years by people who don't want peace in the Middle East," said Congressman Eliot Engel (D-New York) at a meeting of international parliamentarians hosted last week by the Congressional Israel Allies Caucus, a bipartisan pro-Israel parliamentary group.
"The UN has been part and parcel of this conspiracy," he said.
Engel, who co-chairs the parliamentary group - established as a sister-caucus to the Knesset's Christian Allies Caucus - said that UNRWA, which was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1949 to carry out relief and works programs for Palestinian refugees, was actually designed to perpetuate the festering sore of the refugee problem.
"Instead of resettling them, UNRWA keeps them in refugee camps," Engel said. "The Palestinians are in the refugee camps because the Arab nations want them in refugee camps in order to perpetuate political hatred against Israel."...

RELIGIOUS DIRECTORATE: FOR KORAN, COURTSHIP IS SIN

Also courtship, for the Koran, is a grave sin equivalent to adultery and prostitution. Such a statement, which would not amaze if made by an ulema (a doctor in Islamic law), will surely however trigger controversies in Turkey where it was made, through its website, by Turkey's Religious Affairs Directorate, or Diyanet, an authority which controls the national Sunni Islam but which should also guarantee the secularity of the country. Meanwhile, also another thing said adds to this statement, or that "the woman must not show her beautiful parts and must cover herself very well before leaving home," an expression which seems to be a straightforward call to women to cover their heads with the turban, the foulard wound around the head and covering all the hair. The Muslim headscarf which was precisely one of the reasons for the rupture between the pro-Islamic Justice and Development Party (AKP, ruling since 2002) and the secular parties in opposition. According to various observers, the problem is that the Diyanet, the existence of which is sanctioned by article 136 of the constitution, was desired by founder Mustafa Kemal Ataturk exactly as a guarantee for the country's fundamental and indefeasible principle of secularity. Now there are people asking themselves how come the imams of the Diyanet have decided to pronounce so openly in favour of the headscarf, just a few days before the Constitutional Court will rule on the appeal submitted by the Republican Peoplés Party (CHP, left-wing, secular and in opposition) against the abrogation of the ban on turbans in universities promulgated by AKP in February. For certain, today's statement of the Diyanet is bound to foment again the already fiery controversies between the pro-Islamic and lay, who are in a serious fear of ending up, in some tome, to live as in Teheran.

Man jailed over feminism petition

A male defender of the feminist cause in Iran has been sentenced to a year in prison, the moderate Kargozaran newspaper reported on Monday.
Amir Yaqoubali is a supporter of the "One Million Signatures" petition campaign launched in June 2006. According to a feminist website, he was arrested as he collected signatures.
The campaign seeks to change the Islamic republic's laws on marriage, divorce, inheritance and child custody by collecting signatures both online and in person.
In recent months four feminists -- Rezvan Moghadam, Nahid Jafari, Nasrin Afzali and Marzieh Mortazi Langueroudi -- were handed down suspended sentences of six months in prison and 10 lashes by Tehran Revolutionary Court for disorderly conduct in public.
In March last year, they took part in a rally outside the same court to protest against the arrest of five feminists in June 2006.
Several other activists, arrested for their pro-feminism stance, are still in jail.

Human Rights Commission of Maldives - outright deception, revising, covering up or watering down?

There is some activity at the Human Rights Commission of Maldives website. The Original Report in Dhivehi from HRCM website - PDF is now missing. Instead there is a new English Summary of the Annual Report 2007 version that leaves out a lot of the Islamist propaganda that was in the original Dhivehi version.
Why is it that the Original Dhivehi article -
The page cannot be found.
Most probably this new version is meant for the foreign audience.
For just one example "
And (the commission) would also like to point out that, to save the society from religious divisions it is very important that the role played by the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs be broadened."is not there anymore.

Am I missing something here?
The original report in Dhivehi was covered well and admirably here at Secular Maldives. Ismail also covered it here. If you read the postings at Secular Maldives and Dhivehistan Report, it is very clear that Tthe Human Rights Commission of Maldives has omitted very large parts of their Dhivehi version in translation to English. This new move is very suspect as outright deception, revising, covering up or watering down.
Islamists are well known to send one message to their people in the local language and an entirely different message to the world media in English.

Is the Human Rights Commission of Maldives deviously giving us their actual truthful version in Dhivehi and telling the outside world pleasant platitudes in English?

"With Intent to Destroy?" - The Case of Bangladesh

In Bangladesh, gang rape has become a major tool of political terror, forcing minorities to flee and has proven more effective than murder. The victims have all been women belonging to either of the ethnic/religious minorities.
Neither little girls nor pregnant women and the elderly are spared. The perpetrators are men belonging to various branches of Muslim extremist political parties, including direct branches to the ruling party BNP (e.g various student wing’s of BNP like JCD, Jubo Dal). In many cases the rapists are closely related to BNP leaders. The main raison d’être for such attacks are often simplified and explained to be primarily political; to forcefully impede Awami League’s support. Awami League is considered the only opposition political party and has taken the role of representing the minorities’ interests. According to Amity for Peace, the human rights violations following the elections were far more widespread in the regions where Awami League obtained strong support. Such findings would clearly confirm the notion that the violence is politically motivated. Nevertheless, it could be noted that there always is a thin line between political, “ethnic” and religious origins of violence.
.......
The rapes in Bangladesh are often associated with brutal violence (e.g. beatings, cuttings and the forceful insertion of objects into the vagina) and a great majority are gang rapes that often takes place in front of the victim’s husbands, children or parents. The investigative material from human rights organizations like GHRD provides countless examples of how the victims have
suffered physically and mentally as a result of rape. A victim as young as four years old was gang raped in Jhenidah and the rape was initiated by a local leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, (JCD) a student wing of BNP. In order for the perpetrators to enable the act they had to first cut her vagina open with a knife. In some cases bamboo sticks have been forcefully entered into the victim’s vagina after the rape. Young girls are brutally gang raped and dumped at various fields or in the bush left bleeding and/or unconscious. GHRD Dhaka writes: “The girl still suffered from the injuries she sustained during the gang rape during her imprisonment. In addition, she probably suffered from trauma as a result of both the rapes and her incarceration.”
.....
Although the right to protection by the law is proclaimed in the Constitution169 and despite the harsh punishments for the crime of rape that was introduced in 2000, the police are often unable or unwilling to investigate the alleged rapes. The Bangladesh Hindu, Buddhist & Christian Unity Council in the USA asserts: “The police rarely allow rape victims to press charges against their rapists. Typically, if a rape victim goes to the police and insists on action, they are given the “run around” for a few days allowing the rape evidence to disappear. The police officers themselves will then persecute the victims. This, of course, is followed by death threats or kidnapping.” GHRD reports that “After the rape took place, several members of the community of the girl interviewed and recorded the statement of one of the perpetrators. Although he named all the
other perpetrators in the gang rape and this tape was released to the police, they were not included in the police report.” If the victim manages to bring her case to the court, only 95% of the accused in rape cases are acquitted due to faulty investigations or lack of conclusive evidence. The CEDAW Committee has stated that: “The content as well as application of laws put women [in Bangladesh] in a disadvantaged position as compared to men.” For example, the Bangladeshi inheritance laws concede male dominance in terms of rights and resources, simultaneously perpetuate and legitimize the male dominance and “right” to control property, including women.
....
Human Rights Watch declares that they are “concerned about the role of two junior partners in the BNP-led coalition[…], both the Jamaat-e-Islami and the Islami Oikya Jote have supported harassment and violence against both the Ahmadiyya Muslim sect and the Hindu minority in
Bangladesh.” Despite this, the government has done little to deal with this issue, according to the AHRC. For example, they have refused to establish an independent anti-corruption agency and there is no independent body to receive or investigate complaints against the police and other state officers. The public prosecutors are still under political control and state officers are
protected from prosecution. The rape of Hindu women in Bangladesh is encouraged by the institutionalised discrimination against the religious minorities. For example, discriminatory laws like the “Vested Property Act” make it profitable for the majority to attack Hindus.
.......
Amnesty International writes that during the weeks following the elections “more than one hundred women are believed to have been raped.” Salam Azad claims that: “Within 45 days after the election […] more than 1000 Hindu women had to suffer inhumane tortures.” The
Human Rights Congress for Bangladesh Minorities also claims that approximately 1000 women belonging to the minorities (mainly Hindus) were raped within three months surrounding the elections. Afroza Begum has estimated that approximately ten women are raped every day.

Cries of "Allahu akbar," and 12-year-old boy beheads man

Amid cries of ‘Allah o Akbar’ (god is great), a young boy, barely 12 years old, lifts his machete and strikes at his victim who is lying on the ground, all tied up for the kill.
Waving a ‘V’ for victory sign with his right hand, the boy picks up the severed head and shows it around to the chants of applause from an audience gathered in a remote part of the region straddling the mountainous range which divides Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The performance in this chilling episode which may simply shock most people around the world, is the case of militant justice meted out to supposed traitors. It involves Al Qaeda and the Taliban slapping exemplary punishment to an individual suspected to be a spy for the government.
“This (boy) is a killing machine who has been indoctrinated from age nine and prepared for his act by the time he is 12” says a Pakistani intelligence official who showed the video clip to CBS News as just one piece of evidence of Al Qaeda and the Taliban training young boys to become accomplished killers, even before they become teen-agers.
This video has been captured by Pakistan’s military troops during their operations in the country’s semi autonomous tribal areas, as they went from village to village, searching for militant sanctuaries.
In the village of Spinkai-Roghzai where a group of journalists including CBS News were taken by Pakistan’s military on Sunday in the Waziristan tribal region, officials showed debris of what is described as a suicide training ‘nursery’. Under a pile of bricks lay the remains of an oil extracting factory which was a cover for training young boys to become ideologically charged up.
“There is no harm in taking ‘jehad’ (holy war) for the right cause” read the sign board in a training class, documented in yet another Pakistani intelligence video, secretly captured ahead of the operation, through the use of hidden cameras inserted around the front compound of the school. A teacher, who wrapped himself up to his face with a piece of cloth, pointed towards a list of “recommendations for students” while surrounded by teenagers, urging them to embrace virtues such as “accept the way forward through sacrifice” and “accept that laying down your life for the right cause is not a waste”.
With thanks to Farhan Bokhari and CBS News. To view the gruesome video visit the CBS News link.

Egypt:Al Azhar spends $10 billion on Islam while Egyptians can't find bread

The Jihad for The Sake of Bread

Egypt, the land of the greatest civilization that gave the world the wonders of the Pyramids and the Library of Alexandria, that has been known to be the light of the world. Once It was swept by fundamental islam, expelled the Jewish population, oppressed and keep persecuting the native descendants of ancient Egyptians, the Copts (both Jewish and Copts that made Egypt the most thriving, economically and culturally in the Middle-East). Became the motherland of the Muslims Brotherhood, that exported to the world the phylosophy of islamic terror through its satellites accross the globe which gave birth to Al Qaeda and companies. Now egypt is hungry, and a time bomb that could explode with repercusions felt all over the Western world.

Muslims wants to boycot Dutch and Danish products. Now they kill for a piece of bread

Egypt, the biggest country in the arab world, has been experiencing the gravest situation of it's modern history since the begining of the year, shortage of subsidized bread that is the main food item for at least 60% of the population.

The economic situation in Egypt has been going from worse to catastrophic. We have been pedicting that, for the last year, warning that the islamic radicalization would lead the country to a total bankruptcy and turmoil.

Islam is ruining the country, Besides the billions (disguised Jeziah) the US is giving Egypt, Al Azhar islamic institutions is in command of an open budget that exceeds $10 billion for building mosques, paying sheiks'salaries, sending Da'wah (missionaries) that are experts in bomb making all over the world. While the infrastructure, school, universities, medical services, hos[itals, transportation, water supply, sewer systems, roads, are falling into disaray, with the highest unemployment rate in the world, 60% of a population below the age of 30

Al Azhar declared: If you die in the line of bread, you're a Shahid

Now, and for the last three months Egyptians have to stand in line and fight to buy bread, which caused the death of seveteen people up to now. The funny thing in that misery, Al Azhar issued a fatwa, stating that whoever gets killed in the bread line would be considered a martyr (Shahid). The jihad for the sake of bread. What a consolation for hungry and miserable people. Islam always have the solution. If islam brings you misery, hunger and death, islam won't leave you depart empty handed, you're a Shahid, and you will get those 72 virgin whores, and all the Kentucky fried chicken (with no bird flew) you can eat, without the need for viagra. That beats "les biscuits" Marie Antoinette suggested for the hungry people during the French revolution.

The situation is desintegrating rapidly, with a government in total paralysis and corruption, under a ruthless dictator (Mubarak), and the harshest living conditions ever for the majoroty of Egyptians. Worth noting that if islam is the result of this catastrophic backwardness, corruption, and disintegration, it could lead to more radicalization and benefit the fundamentalist factions such as the "Muslim Brotherhood, that promote the slogan, "Islam is the solution."

Republic? Democracy?..er..no..its actually a CULT

Maldives is a cult based on the teachings of man with the sexual powers of thirty men. He used to go round (have sexual relations with) all his wives in one night, and he had nine wives. The Seal of his Prophethood was a large hairy mole on his back. His name is Mohammed and he lived in Arabia 1400 years ago.
Muhammad was born in the month of Rabi'al-awwal in 570. He belonged to the Banu Hashim, one of the prominent families of Mecca, although it seems not to have been prosperous during Muhammad's early lifetime. Muhammad's father, Abdullah, died almost six months before he was born. At the age of six Muhammad lost his mother Amina to illness and he became fully orphaned. He was subsequently brought up for two years under the guardianship of his paternal grandfather Abd al-Muttalib, of the Banu Hashim Clan of the Quraysh tribe. When he was eight years of age his grandfather also died. Muhammad now came under the care of his uncle Abu Talib, the new leader of Banu Hashim. Muhammad's guardians saw that he did not starve to death, but it was hard for them to do more for him, especially as the fortunes of the clan of Hashim seem to have been declining at that time. While still in his teens, Muhammad began accompanying his uncle on trading journeys to Syria gaining some experience in commercial career; the only career open to Muhammad as an orphan.
At some point Muhammad adopted the practice of meditating alone for several weeks every year in a cave near Mecca. In one of his visits to the Mount Hira, the angel called Jibreel began communicating with him in the year 610. Upon receiving his first revelations Muhammad was deeply distressed and contemplated throwing himself off the top of a mountain but the spirit moved closer and told him that he has been chosen as a messenger of God.

Mohammed taught that there is a Creator called Allah and all those who practice the Way of Allah would go to a place called Jannath.
The good Dhivehin who manage to go to Jannath shall be given 72 houris (beautiful, angelic-like female creatures of tender age, having large breasts which are round pointed, and not inclined to dangle. Their virginity is renewed each day. No matter at what age he had died, when he is admitted into paradise, he will become a thirty-year-old, and shall not age any further and they will be given the strength of a hundred men to eat, drink, feel desire and have sexual intercourse by Allah.
Maldivians have designed a nation that is only for people who believe this and ardently desire to have unlimited sex with these heavenly maidens who will be so beautiful, pure and transparent that the marrow of the bones of their legs will be seen through the flesh. When a Maldivian who has managed to get to Jannath desires a beauty, as soon as he can think it, he will have intercourse with them as desired. (Thats all my friend Ibrahim can think about even now!)
  • "A cult is a group or movement exhibiting a great or excessive devotion or dedication to some person, idea or thing and employing unethically manipulative techniques of persuasion and control (e.g. isolation from former friends and family, debilitation, use of special methods to heighten suggestibility and subservience, powerful group pressures, information management, suspension of individuality or critical judgment, promotion of total dependency on the group and fear of [consequences of] leaving it, etc) designed to advance the goals of the group's leaders to the actual or possible detriment of members, their families, or the community."

When you have to believe this stuff about houris and jinns to be a citizen, Maldives is best described as a cult.

Will some Dhivehin take part in the Urine & Feces Jihad?

Its a scary thought. But one that has to be taken seriously, especially by the resort hotel owners. There appears to be a nasty and disgusting pattern emerging - muslim men conducting a body waste Jihad. Poisoning food with feces is detailed as a tactic in the Al-Qaeda manual found a few years ago by British intelligence.

Also, there are precedents, both involving Muslims, as does this story:
UK: Shop-owners sold chocolate cake sprinkled with human faeces
Man Caught On Tape Sprinkling Fecal Matter On Pastries

"Man remanded after 'urine' attack," from the BBC, May 19 (thanks to Jeff):
A man has been remanded in custody charged with spraying urine at two supermarkets, a pub and a book shop.
Sahnoun Daifallah, 42, of Bibury Road, from Gloucester, appeared before magistrates and pleaded not guilty to four charges of contaminating products.
He was arrested on Friday after a substance, believed to be urine, was sprayed over produce at Tesco in Quedgeley and Morrisons at Abbeydale. [...]
In court prosecutor Liz Thomas said two days earlier Mr Daifallah used an improvised device to shower hundreds of children's books at Waterstones in Cirencester.
He is also charged with releasing the liquid over food in the Air Balloon pub, near Cheltenham....

Every burqa has a silver lining, but vacationing in the Maldives won't be for everyone. Check out this article at Family Security Matters. Following is part of it...with thanks to Pam Meister..

"Er, maybe not the Maldives, unless Shari'ah law is your cup of tea. If Sheikh Abdul Majeed Bari, (leader of the religious Adhaalath party scholars' council) gets his way, the death penalty for apostasy (converting from Islam to another religion) and the "amputation of hands for certain types of theft" could make their way into Maldivian law.

He believes the current legal system causes "conflicts in society." "There would be peace if the country was practicing Islamic Shari'ah," he says.

Perhaps it all depends on what your definition of "peace" is.

As the concept of Shari'ah law gains popularity in the Maldives, implications for happy vacationers could range from frustrating to downright unpleasant. Just imagine your arrival: in Hawaii, visitors are draped with leis from women in hula skirts and greeted with a friendly "Aloha!" In the Maldives, women can expect to be draped with a burka instead of a lei, while the men could receive a handbook entitled "Practical Tips for Beating Your Wife Properly (and Other Ways to Make the Most of Your Maldivian Vacation)."
.......

Okay, so the beach may not quite pan out the way you imagined, but there are still tennis lessons with the hotel pro to look forward to. Still, be careful: if anyone sees him showing you how to position yourself for your overhand shot, he might be the one with the shot - a shot in the back. And forget about having a torrid, steamy affair with him (the kind they write about in paperback romance novels), because a future feature of many luxury resort hotels could be a stoning pit located right behind the outdoor bar.
.........
.........
......

As your dream Maldivian vacation draws to a close and you pack your bags to head home, the bad news could be that the hotel receptionist who romanced your teenage son is dead. Unfortunately, she would have been "honor killed" because she fell in love with the wrong kind of guy and shamed her family. The good news is you'll save money by not having to buy your son a return plane ticket to visit her next year.

Hey. Who said that the Maldives wasn't a gorgeous, relaxing and fun place?

Enjoy!"

monkeys ' r ' us

Narrated 'Amr bin Maimun: "During the pre-lslamic period of ignorance I saw a she-monkey surrounded by a number of monkeys. They were all stoning it, because it had committed illegal sexual intercourse. I too, stoned it along with them."
Sahih Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 58, Number 188.

Muslims fear criticism or mockery of their religion more than they fear death.
The good thing about Islam is that you don’t actually have to mock it, Islam mocks itself.
The Sunna of Muhammad, his personal example, is mainly contained in extra-Koranic sources, especially the hadith. Even the practices of prayer and pilgrimage are based on information from the hadith literature. These are the most important religious texts for a billion Muslims, second only to the Koran itself.

Beheadings under the Big Crescent Flag at Jumhooree Park?

(WARNING-GRAPHIC PHOTOS).

This morning I went for a fixed menu breakfasts in the neaby coffee shop. As I was buttering my toast my ears pricked up to the conversation going at the next table. I glanced sideways to find three young men wearing kurtha shirts. One of them also had a Yasser Arafat type tea-cloth head dress. In a conversation thickly sprinkled with Allah, kaafaru, mushriku, jahoodhee, munaafigu and islaan deen, they were discussing what to do with the people who left Islam.I think they noticed my interest in their conversation and their volume rose slightly that everyone neaby could hear them well.

They were very convinced and adamant - those who turn their back on Islam are to be put to death. One thing I noticed was the young man with the tea-cloth headgear was well versed in the Koran and Hadees. He quoted the Sura (2:256) which states "Let there be no compulsion in religion, for truth stands out from error" and loudly pointed out to the benefit of those in the coffe shop that the verse had been replaced with other verses that clearly called for the killing of those who left Islam.

"Look at the actions of our beloved Muhammed rasoololla sollalloahu alahi wasallam" he said " By his own deeds he has shown us that we must kill the people who have left Islam. When the new constitution comes into effect, we shall kill them."

My mind began to wander. What has possessed these people? Here they were, coolly taking about taking human life in public and breakfast was not even done yet. Maybe the recent statements by their Sheihu Baaree had emboldened them. I nearly choked on my toast when the sudden thought occured to me that this could be the MV Muslims Breakfast Club!
Then they started going into the details. No hanging, no firing squad. They wanted beheadings - that was the example, the sunnah of the prophet. And they wanted it done in public. The smaller of the three suggested the courtyard of Islamee Marukazu. That was not public enough for the other two. "No one is going to leave Islam after they see us behead twenty or so of these yahoodhee kaafarun in Jumhooree Park" the man in the tea-cloth headgear asserted.

After 30 Years, Husband Lifts Wife's Buruga - Faces Divorce...

A 50-year-old Saudi woman asked for divorce after her husband lifted her face veil while she was sleeping, local press reported.

For 30 years, the wife said she never showed her face to her husband in conformity with the tradition of her native village near the south western Saudi city of Khamis Mushayt.

"After all these years, he tries to commit such a big mistake," the wife told Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadh, after she left the house in total disbelief.

She said the husband apologized and promised never to do it again.

This is not the first case of husbands who have not seen their wives' faces in decades.

In the past Al Arabiya has reported the case of Ali al-Qahtani, whose wife had been wearing the face veil for the entire ten years of their marrage. When he tried to take it off, she threatened to leave and only decided to stay after he swore never to try again.

Hassan Al-Atibi threatened to marry another woman if his wife didn't show him her face. The woman nominated one of her friends who doesn't observe this tradition as a possible new wife for him, saying this would be better than her showing her face.

And neither the husband or children of Om Rabea al-Gahdaray, 70, have ever seen her face. Al-Gahdaray says it is a family tradition, also followed by mother and sisters, which her husband accepted and never tried to change.

When asked how she could have kids without her husband ever seeing her face, she replied: "Marriage is about love, not faces."

If you have bad teeth, modern dental surgery can fix it!

I wonder if any MV Muslims are following this "tradition"?

Women Banned from 'Women in the Workplace' Forum...

When clerics, ministers and businessmen gathered at a forum in Riyadh in April to discuss women in the workplace, there were no women in sight.
Typically for Saudi Arabia, the women who took part were seated in a separate room so the men could only hear them.
Such things are part and parcel of the complex system of social control maintained by clerics of Saudi Arabia's austere version of Sunni Islamic law, often termed Wahhabism. It is a system called into question by scholar Hatoon al-Fassi.
In her study, Women In Pre-Islamic Arabia, the outspoken rights advocate argues women in the pre-Islamic period enjoyed considerable rights in the Nabataean state, an urban Arabian kingdom centred in modern Jordan, south Syria and north-west Saudi Arabia during the Roman empire.
...........
..........
The main schools of sharia were codified in the 9th century AD in territories where a ruling Arab elite mixed with non-Arab and non-Muslim populations in the aftermath of the Arab conquests and the rise of Islam in the 7th century AD.
The main body of the law is derived mainly from oral traditions attributed to the Prophet Muhammad, and viewed by Islamic scholars as divine in origin. Scholars in the West have seen, in effect, a mix of Arabian, Jewish and Roman origins.
"The argument about Greco-Roman law having influenced the sharia rules about women could have some basis if one thinks in terms of Middle Eastern adaptations, 'provincial versions' of Greco-Roman law," said Gerald Hawting, a historian of early Islam at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London. Fassi, he said, "is not likely to win many friends among the traditional ulama (scholars) by arguing that important elements of the sharia originate from human history and not from God".

Open your heart to your bothers and sisters

There are Dhivehi people of different faiths and religions. For Maldivians of the Christian faith and Christians around the world the Pentecost is a special day. In 2008, Pentecost will be celebrated on May 11 in Western Christian countries and on June 15 in Eastern Christian countries.

On this occasion, The Dhivehistan Report urges and encourages all Maldivians to open their hearts and embrace their fellow Maldivians of the Christian faith. Stand up and say that they do not have to practice their religion in secret and live in fear because of their religious beliefs.

Stand up for your fellow Maldivians and their human rights.

"Christians believe Pentecost to be a powerful feast of salvation, because it speaks about the giving of the Law on Mount Sinai, about the founding of the Church, and about the Final Judgement. Pentecost is a parallel to Shavout, as Easter is to Passover. According to the Bible, on Passover, the Jews were delivered from slavery in Egypt; on Easter, mankind was delivered from slavery to sin; on Shavout, the Children of Israel received the "Law"; on Pentecost, the Church received the fullness of the Holy Spirit." - From Wikipedia

Muslim women seek equality in mosques - mullahs unmoved..

In a rare sight on Saturday, some Sunni women gathered in a Lucknow mosque and prayed together with men.

These women normally offer namaz at their homes, but they're trying to make a statement. The All India Muslim women personal law board wants mosques across India to open their doors to regular visits by women.

''We are only practicing what Islam has been has been saying, we are not doing anything that goes against the principles laid down in the Shariat,'' said Shaista Ambar, President, All India Muslim Women Personal Law Board.

But the clerics aren't happy and have labeled this as defiance.

''If a woman is in the market during the time of namaz she has the right to go to a mosque, there is a separate section over there for women and she can offer her prayers there. But this cannot be allowed to become a regular practice,'' said Khalid Rashid, a Sunni cleric.

But the women are convinced that there's no looking back. Mehrunissa said, ''We don't care about those who issue these fatwas.''

A few days ago, the board had issued a model nikahnama for Sunnis and upset clerics for doing away with triple talakh.

Now with a move to pray at mosques, it's their way of doing away with gender inequality.

The True Status of Women in Islam

The mullahs are brainwashing the people and especially the women with sweet talk of how Muslim women are not oppressed but that she is liberated. They tell you that Islam is a religion that treats women fairly, that for the first time in history, women were granted economic independence in Islam, even though this statement is clearly contradicted in the Quran : Sura (4:11) - (Inheritance) "The male shall have the equal of the portion of two females".

Everyday we hear the mullahs reciting such things that contradict the reality of what happens to women under Islam.

Let us now hear from some women about the true status of women in Islam.

Happy Birthday Israel

"Antisemitism, the hatred of the Jewish people, has been and remains a blot on the soul of mankind. In this we are in full agreement. So know also this: anti-Zionist is inherently antisemitic, and ever will be so." From M.L. King Jr., "Letter to an Anti-Zionist Friend," Saturday Review_XLVII (Aug. 1967), p. 76. Reprinted in M.L. King Jr., "This I Believe: Selections from the Writings of Dr. Martin Luther King J"

"Israel in 2008 looks little like the tiny agricultural nation that declared its independence 60 years ago. Modern Israel is high tech superpower, leading the world in of medicine, biotech, computer science, environment, culture and art. After two thousand years of exile, fresh from the ovens of Europe, with virtually nothing, they came to rebuild their lives as free Jews in their homeland.

Eagle When She Flies

This is a posting dedicated to the Dhivehi woman striving to find her place in these turbulent times - and to the person who commented that this was a misogynist post...

Could Dhivehi ladies become Arab women in the near future?

As the number of mullahs increase and people are swayed by their rhetoric, women are being covered, hidden and marginalized. The once proud Dhivehi woman is losing her place as an equal partner and a leader in society and entering into the role prescribed by Islam and the Arab way of life. No surprise there - a woman under Islam is an object, a property to be used and discarded at whim.

  • Sura (2:223) - "Your wives are as a tilth unto you; so approach your tilth when or how ye will..." Wives are to be sexually available to their husbands in all ways at all times. They serve their husbands at his command. This verse is believed to refer to anal sex (see Bukhari 60:51), and was "revealed" when women complained to Muhammad about the practice. The phrase "when and how you will" means that they lost their case.
  • Sura (4:34) - "Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them. Then if they obey you, seek not a way against them."

Saudi women had more rights at the time of the Romans than today

Arab women had more rights at the time of the Romans than they have today. At that time, in fact, their capacity to conduct their own economic affairs was recognised, which is not true in Saudi Arabia today. This is maintained by a female Saudi scholar, Hatoon al-Fassi, in a book entitled "Women In Pre-Islamic Arabia", published by British Archaeological Reports.

Barred from teaching at King Saud University in 2001, the scholar has examined the situation of Nabataea, a kingdom that at the beginning of the Christian era included parts of modern-day Jordan, Syria, and Saudi Arabia, and had its capital in Petra. Here, Fassi maintains, women were able to conduct business, without even the form of "protection" required by Greek tradition in these matters. In her opinion, it is precisely because of the lack of understanding on the part of Islamic scholars of the influences of Greco-Roman legislation on sharia that the limited rights and freedoms for women have arisen.

"We now live the worst status imaginable": this statement from Fawziya al-Oyouni, a women's rights activist, is reported in the review of the book on Middle East Online, which highlights how, when religious authorities, ministers, and businessmen met last month in Riyadh to discuss work for women, there were no women visible, because they were confined to another room, and the men were able only to hear them.

The Black-Eyed Virgins of Paradise

The Black-Eyed Virgins of Paradise and Wine is the ultimate goal of the Dhivehi nation. Therefore the Constitution, laws and regulations of the Maldives are designed to send as many people as possible to this Islamic heaven that they may do whatever they want to those breasts and thighs without Nivea or Vaseline.
We will even sell and serve the destructive wine of this world to the infidel tourists and not drink it ourselves. But later, Maldivians will enjoy wine in Paradise as a reward for their Good Deeds.
Suck on that, Caligula and Hugh Hefner!

"What hair! What a chest! What a mouth! What cheeks! What a figure! What breasts! What thighs! What legs! What whiteness! What softness! Without any creams - no Nivea, no Vaseline. No nothing!"

"You Would Find 10 Black-Eyed Virgins Sprawled on Musk Cushions"
"He said that faces would be soft that day. Even your own face will be soft without any powder or makeup. You yourself will be soft, so how soft will a black-eyed virgin be, when she comes to you so tall and with her beautiful face, her black hair and white face - praised be He who created night and day. Just feel her palm, Sheikh!

"He said: How soft will a fingertip be, after being softened in paradise for thousands of years! There is no god but Allah. He told us that if you entered one of the palaces, you would find 10 black-eyed virgins sprawled on musk cushions. Where is Abu Khaled? Here, he has arrived!

"When they see you, they will get up and run to you. Lucky is the one who gets to put her thumb in your hand. When they get hold of you, they will push you onto your back, on the musk cushions. They will push you onto your back, Jamal! Allah Akbar! I wish this on all people present here.

"He said that one of them would place her mouth on yours. Do whatever you want.

"Another one would press her cheek against yours, yet another would press her chest against yours, and the others would await their turn. There is no god but Allah."

"Wine in Paradise is a Reward for Your Good Deeds"
"He told us that one black-eyed virgin would give you a glass of wine. Wine in Paradise is a reward for your good deeds. The wine of this world is destructive, but not the wine of the world to come."
